where is a lamb for an offering? <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And Abraham said, “God will show himself the Lamb for a sacrifice, my son”, and they both went as one.<p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And they came to the region of which God had told him and Abraham built there the altar and he arranged the wood and he tied up Isaaq his son and he placed him on the altar on the wood. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And Abraham reached his hand and he took the knife to slaughter his son.<p> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And the Angel of God called to him from Heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham” and he said, “Here I am.” <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And he said, “Do not stretch your hand against the boy and you shall not do anything to him, because now I have made known that you are in awe of God, for you have not kept your son, your only one, from me.” <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And Abraham lifted his eyes, and he saw and behold, one ram caught in the branches by his horns, and Abraham went and he took the ram and offered him up as an offering in place of his son. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And Abraham called the name of that place “LORD JEHOVAH will appear” of which it is said today, “In this mountain LORD JEHOVAH will appear.”<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And the Angel of God called to Abraham the second time from Heaven, <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And he said, “By myself I have sworn, says LORD JEHOVAH, because you have made this response and you have not kept back your son, your only one, from me: <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>To bless, I shall bless you, and to multiply, I shall multiply your seed as the stars of Heaven and like the sand that is upon the shore of the sea, and your seed shall inherit the lands of his enemies; <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And all of the people of the Earth shall be blessed in your seed, because you listened to my voice.” <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And Abraham returned to his young men and they stood and they went as one to Beersheba and Abraham dwelt in Beersheba.<p> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And it happened after these matters and it was shown to Abraham and they said to him, “Behold, Melka also gave birth to children by Nakhor your brother; <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>To Uuts, his first born, and to his brother Buuz, and to Qemuyel, the father of Aram. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And to Kasar, and to Khazu, and to Palrash, and to Yarlaph and to Bethuyel, <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/22-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And Bethuyel begot Raphqa;
