The paper introduces with an alternate mean of research that can accelerate the biogas energy production. Tithonia diversifolia or the Tree marigold can be hailed as mesophillic anaerobic digestion to increase the production of more Bioenergy. Tithonia diversifolia is very native to Mexico and Central America, which can be served as ornamental plants- green manure and can prevent soil erosion. Tithonia diversifolia is widely grown and known to Asia, Africa, America and Australia as well. Nowadays, Considering China&rsquo;s geographical condition it is found that Tithonia diversifolia is widely growing plant in the many tropical and subtropical regions of southern Yunnan- which can have great usage in accelerating and increasing the Bioenergy production technology. The paper discussed aiming at proving possibility that Tithonia diversifolia can be applied in biogas fermentation and its biogas production potential, the research carried experiment on Tithonia diversifolia biogas fermentation under the mesophilic condition (35 Celsius Degree). The result revealed that Tithonia diversifolia can be used as biogas fermentative material, and 6% concentration can get the best biogas production, with the TS biogas production rate 656mL/g and VS biogas production rate 801mL/g. It is well addressed that Tithonia diversifolia grows wildly in 53 Counties and 9 cities of Yunnan Province, which mainly grows in form of the road side plants, the edge of the field, countryside, forest edge, open space; of which demersum-natures can form dense monospecific beds -causing serious harm to agricultural production landforms threatening the ecological system as a potentially harmful exotic plant. There are also found the three types of invasive daisy alien plants -Eupatorium adenophorum, Eupatorium Odorata and Tithonia diversifolia in Yunnan Province of China-among them the Tithonia diversifolia is responsible for causing serious harm to agricultural production. In this paper we have designed the experimental explanation of Biogas energy production that requires anaerobic environment and some microbes; Tithonia diversifolia plant has been taken into consideration while carrying experiments and with successful resulting of generating more BioEnergy emphasizing on the practical applications of Tithonia diversifolia. This paper aims at- to find a new mechanism to provide a more scientific basis for the development of this plant herbicides in Biogas energy and to improve the utilization throughout the world as well.</p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Biogas%20Energy%20Production" title="Biogas Energy Production">Biogas Energy Production</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Tithonia%20diversifolia" title=" Tithonia diversifolia"> Tithonia diversifolia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Energy%20Development" title=" Energy Development"> Energy Development</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Ecological%20Agriculture" title=" Ecological Agriculture"> Ecological Agriculture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Eupatorium%0D%0Aadenophorum" title=" Eupatorium adenophorum"> Eupatorium adenophorum</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Eupatorium%20odorata" title=" Eupatorium odorata"> Eupatorium odorata</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Anaerobic%20Fermentation" title=" Anaerobic Fermentation"> Anaerobic Fermentation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Biogas%0D%0AProduction%20Potential" title=" Biogas Production Potential"> Biogas Production Potential</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Mesopilic%20Fermentation." title=" Mesopilic Fermentation."> Mesopilic Fermentation.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/biogas-yield-potential-research-of-tithonia-diversifolia-in-mesophilic-anaerobic-fermentation-in-china" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/16574.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">2655</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">155</span> Active Power Filtering Implementation Using Photovoltaic System with Reduced Energy Storage Capacitor</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Horng-Yuan%20Wu">Horng-Yuan Wu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Chin-Yuan%20Hsu"> Chin-Yuan Hsu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Tsair-Fwu%20Lee"> Tsair-Fwu Lee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>A novel three-phase active power filter (APF) circuit with photovoltaic (PV) system to improve the quality of service and to reduce the capacity of energy storage capacitor is presented. The energy balance concept and sampling technique were used to simplify the calculation algorithm for the required utility source current and to control the voltage of the energy storage capacitor. The feasibility was verified by using the Pspice simulations and experiments. When the APF mode was used during non-operational period, not only the utilization rate, power factor and power quality could be improved, but also the capacity of energy storage capacitor could sparing. As the results, the advantages of the APF circuit are simplicity of control circuits, low cost, and good transient response.</p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=active%20power%20filter" title="active power filter">active power filter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=sampling" title=" sampling"> sampling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=energy-storagecapacitor" title=" energy-storagecapacitor"> energy-storagecapacitor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=harmonic%20current" title=" harmonic current"> harmonic current</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=energy%20balance." title=" energy balance."> energy balance.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/active-power-filtering-implementation-using-photovoltaic-system-with-reduced-energy-storage-capacitor" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10406.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1885</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">154</span> Steepest Descent Method with New Step Sizes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Bib%20Paruhum%20Silalahi">Bib Paruhum Silalahi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Djihad%20Wungguli"> Djihad Wungguli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Sugi%20Guritman"> Sugi Guritman</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Steepest descent method is a simple gradient method for optimization. This method has a slow convergence in heading to the optimal solution, which occurs because of the zigzag form of the steps. Barzilai and Borwein modified this algorithm so that it performs well for problems with large dimensions. Barzilai and Borwein method results have sparked a lot of research on the method of steepest descent, including alternate minimization gradient method and Yuan method. Inspired by previous works, we modified the step size of the steepest descent method. We then compare the modification results against the Barzilai and Borwein method, alternate minimization gradient method and Yuan method for quadratic function cases in terms of the iterations number and the running time. The average results indicate that the steepest descent method with the new step sizes provide good results for small dimensions and able to compete with the results of Barzilai and Borwein method and the alternate minimization gradient method for large dimensions. The new step sizes have faster convergence compared to the other methods, especially for cases with large dimensions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Convergence" title="Convergence">Convergence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=iteration" title=" iteration"> iteration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=line%20search" title=" line search"> line search</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=running%20time" title=" running time"> running time</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=steepest%20descent" title=" steepest descent"> steepest descent</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=unconstrained%20optimization." title=" unconstrained optimization."> unconstrained optimization.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/steepest-descent-method-with-new-step-sizes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10002037.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">3162</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">153</span> The Spanning Laceability of k-ary n-cubes when k is Even</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Yuan-Kang%20Shih">Yuan-Kang Shih</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Shu-Li%20Chang"> Shu-Li Chang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Shin-Shin%20Kao"> Shin-Shin Kao</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Qk n has been shown as an alternative to the hypercube family. The result is optimal since each vertex of Qk n has exactly 2n neighbors. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=container" title="container">container</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Hamiltonian" title=" Hamiltonian"> Hamiltonian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=k-ary%20n-cube" title=" k-ary n-cube"> k-ary n-cube</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=m%2A-connected." title=" m*-connected."> m*-connected.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/the-spanning-laceability-of-k-ary-n-cubes-when-k-is-even" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/14139.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1538</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">152</span> Applications of Support Vector Machines on Smart Phone Systems for Emotional Speech Recognition</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Wernhuar%20Tarng">Wernhuar Tarng</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Yuan-Yuan%20Chen"> Yuan-Yuan Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Chien-Lung%20Li"> Chien-Lung Li</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Kun-Rong%20Hsie"> Kun-Rong Hsie</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Mingteh%20Chen"> Mingteh Chen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> An emotional speech recognition system for the applications on smart phones was proposed in this study to combine with 3G mobile communications and social networks to provide users and their groups with more interaction and care. This study developed a mechanism using the support vector machines (SVM) to recognize the emotions of speech such as happiness, anger, sadness and normal. The mechanism uses a hierarchical classifier to adjust the weights of acoustic features and divides various parameters into the categories of energy and frequency for training. In this study, 28 commonly used acoustic features including pitch and volume were proposed for training. In addition, a time-frequency parameter obtained by continuous wavelet transforms was also used to identify the accent and intonation in a sentence during the recognition process. The Berlin Database of Emotional Speech was used by dividing the speech into male and female data sets for training. According to the experimental results, the accuracies of male and female test sets were increased by 4.6% and 5.2% respectively after using the time-frequency parameter for classifying happy and angry emotions. For the classification of all emotions, the average accuracy, including male and female data, was 63.5% for the test set and 90.9% for the whole data set. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Smart%20phones" title="Smart phones">Smart phones</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=emotional%20speech%20recognition" title=" emotional speech recognition"> emotional speech recognition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=socialnetworks" title=" socialnetworks"> socialnetworks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=support%20vector%20machines" title=" support vector machines"> support vector machines</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=time-frequency%20parameter" title=" time-frequency parameter"> time-frequency parameter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Mel-scale%20frequency%20cepstral%20coefficients%20%28MFCC%29." title="Mel-scale frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC).">Mel-scale frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC).</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/applications-of-support-vector-machines-on-smart-phone-systems-for-emotional-speech-recognition" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9314.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1843</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">151</span> Solving Linear Matrix Equations by Matrix Decompositions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Yongxin%20Yuan">Yongxin Yuan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Kezheng%20Zuo"> Kezheng Zuo</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>In this paper, a system of linear matrix equations is considered. However, project clients utilize different cost estimation and payment systems because of their varying views on the reasonableness of consultant fees. This study reviews the cost estimation and payment systems of consultant contracts for five countries, including the US (Washington State Department of Transportation), Japan (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism), China (Engineering Design Charging Standard) and UK (Her Majesty&#39;s Treasure). Specifically, this work investigates the budgeting process, contractor selection method, contractual price negotiation process, cost review, and cost-control concept of the systems used in these countries. The main finding indicates that that project client-s view on whether the fee is high will affect the way he controls it. In the US, the fee is commonly considered to be high. As a result, stringent auditing system (low flexibility given to the consultant) is then applied. In the UK, the fee is viewed to be low by comparing it to the total life-cycle project cost. Thus, a system that has high flexibility in budgeting and cost reviewing is given to the consultant. In terms of the flexibility allowed for the consultant, the systems applied in Japan and China fall between those of the US and UK. Both the US and UK systems are helpful in determining a reasonable fee. However, in the US system, rigid auditing standards must be established and additional cost-audit manpower is required. In the UK system, sufficient historical cost data should be needed to evaluate the reasonableness of the consultant-s proposed fee</p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a Eventually, this paper proves that the estimation is better than the general ridge estimate, which is based on the MSE. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Ridge%20estimate" title="Ridge estimate">Ridge estimate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=generalized%20ridge%20estimate" title=" generalized ridge estimate"> generalized ridge estimate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=MSE" title=" MSE"> MSE</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=relative%20efficiency." title=" relative efficiency."> relative efficiency.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/the-relative-efficiency-based-on-the-mse-in-generalized-ridge-estimate" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/10005775.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">983</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">138</span> The Causation and Solution of Ringing Effect in DCT-based Video Coding</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Yu%20Yuan">Yu Yuan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=David%20Feng"> David Feng</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Yu-Zhuo%20Zhong"> Yu-Zhuo Zhong</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Ringing effect is one of the most annoying visual artifacts in digital video. It is a significant factor of subjective quality deterioration. However, there is a widely-accepted misunderstanding of its cause. In this paper, we propose a reasonable interpretation of the cause of ringing effect. Based on the interpretation, we suggest further two methods to reduce ringing effect in DCT-based video coding. The profile is well described by one Gaussians function with full width at half maximum (FWHM) 0.04794. We compared the difference of arrival time between radio and X-ray pulse profiles for the first time. It turns out that the phase of radio emits precede the X-ray by 8.7 ± 4.5 ms. Furthermore we obtained the pulse profiles in the energy ranges of 2.29-6.18 keV, 6.18-12.63 keV and 12.63-17.36 keV. The intensity of pulses decreases with the increasing energy range. We discuss the emission geometry in our work. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=RXTE" title="RXTE">RXTE</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=X-ray%20pulsars" title=" X-ray pulsars"> X-ray pulsars</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=PSR%20J0538%2B2817." title=" PSR J0538+2817."> PSR J0538+2817.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/x-ray-pulse-profiles-of-psr-j05382817" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/8657.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1628</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">136</span> Effects of Mo Thickness on the Properties of AZO/Mo/AZO Multilayer Thin Films</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Hung-Wei%20Wu">Hung-Wei Wu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Chien-Hsun%20Chu"> Chien-Hsun Chu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Ru-Yuan%20Yang"> Ru-Yuan Yang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Chin-Min%20Hsiung"> Chin-Min Hsiung</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, we proposed the effects of Mo thickness on the properties of AZO/Mo/AZO multilayer thin films for opto-electronics applications. Our results extend that of left C-wrpp semigroups.</p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Left%20C-wrpp%20semigroup" title="Left C-wrpp semigroup">Left C-wrpp semigroup</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=left%20quasi%20normal%20regular%20band" title="left quasi normal regular band">left quasi normal regular band</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=weakly%20left%20C-wrpp%20semigroup." title=" weakly left C-wrpp semigroup."> weakly left C-wrpp semigroup.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/another-structure-of-weakly-left-c-wrpp-semigroups" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/9997826.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1295</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">131</span> The Direct Updating of Damping and Gyroscopic Matrices using Incomplete Complex Test Data</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Jiashang%20Jiang">Jiashang Jiang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Yongxin%20Yuan"> Yongxin Yuan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>In this paper we develop an efficient numerical method for the finite-element model updating of damped gyroscopic systems based on incomplete complex modal measured data. We use a Gabor filter bank to extract texture features. Some of the filtered channels form a multidimensional Gaborian feature space. To avoid deforming contours directly in a vector-valued space we use a Gaussian mixture model to describe the statistical distribution of this space and get the boundary and region probabilities. Then a framework of geodesic active regions is applied based on them. In the end, experimental results are presented, and show that this method can obtain satisfied boundaries between different texture regions.</p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Texture%20segmentation" title="Texture segmentation">Texture segmentation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Gabor%20filter" title=" Gabor filter"> Gabor filter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=snakes" title=" snakes"> snakes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Geodesicactive%20regions" title=" Geodesicactive regions"> Geodesicactive regions</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/unsupervised-texture-segmentation-via-applying-geodesic-active-regions-to-gaborian-feature-space" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/apa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">APA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/bibtex" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">BibTeX</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/chicago" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Chicago</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/endnote" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">EndNote</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/harvard" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Harvard</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/json" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">JSON</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/mla" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">MLA</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/ris" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">RIS</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/xml" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">XML</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071/iso690" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">ISO 690</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/5071.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1773</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card publication-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">128</span> An Enhanced Fault-Tolerant Conference Key Agreement Protocol</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Cheng-Chi%20Lee">Cheng-Chi Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Chun-Ta%20Li"> Chun-Ta Li</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Chia-Ying%20Wu"> Chia-Ying Wu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/search?q=Shiow-Yuan%20Huang"> Shiow-Yuan Huang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Establishing a secure communication of Internet conferences for participants is very important. Before starting the conference, all the participants establish a common conference key to encrypt/decrypt communicated messages. It enables participants to exchange the secure messages. Nevertheless, in the conference, if there are any malicious participants who may try to upset the key generation process causing other legal participants to obtain a different conference key. In this article, we propose an improved conference key agreement with fault-tolerant capability. The proposed scheme can filter malicious participants at the beginning of the conference to ensure that all participants obtain the same conference key.
