</div> <body> <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">The NPI is committed to working with the federal government to reposition the US as a leader in photonics research and development by driving funding and investment in the areas of photonics critical to maintaining US competitiveness and national security, and developing federal programs that encourage stronger partnerships between US industry, academia, and government labs. Through educational efforts with members in Congress in Washington, DC and in their respective districts, collaboration with federal agencies on programs such the an Integrated Photonics Institute for Manufacturing Innovation (IP-IMI), and support of administration-led projects such as Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative and Cancer Moonshot, the NPI is directly showcasing to the US government the need for continued investment in photonics.
