they are detestable<MH8263>, not to be eaten<MH398>: the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>eagle<MH5404>, the vulture<MH6538>, and the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>buzzard<MH5822>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>the red<MH1676> kite<MH1676>, the falcon<MH344> in its kind<MH4327>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>every<MH3605> raven<MH6158> in its kind<MH4327>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>the ostrich<MH3284>, the owl<MH8464>, the seagull<MH7828>, and the hawk<MH5322b> in its kind<MH4327>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>the little<MH3563b> owl<MH3563b>, the cormorant<MH7994>, and the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>great<MH3244> owl<MH3244>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>the white<MH8580> owl<MH8580>, the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>pelican<MH6893>, and the carrion<MH7360> vulture<MH7360>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>the stork<MH2624>, the heron<MH601> in its kinds<MH4327>, the hoopoe<MH1744>, and the bat<MH5847>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>‘All<MH3605> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>winged<MH5775> insects<MH8318> that walk<MH1980> on <i>all</i> fours<MH702> are detestable<MH8263> to you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>Yet<MH389> these<MH2088> you may eat<MH398> among<MH4480> all<MH3605> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>winged<MH5775> insects<MH8318> that walk<MH1980> on <i>all</i> fours<MH702>: those which<MH834> have jointed legs<MH3767> above<MH4480, 4605> their feet<MH7272> with which<MH1992a> to jump<MH5425a> on the earth<MH776>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>These<MH428> of them you may eat<MH398>: the locust<MH697> in its kinds<MH4327>, the devastating<MH5556> locust<MH5556> in its kinds<MH4327>, the cricket<MH2728> in its kinds<MH4327>, and the grasshopper<MH2284> in its kinds<MH4327>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>But all<MH3605> <i>other</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>winged<MH5775> insects<MH8318> which<MH834> are four-footed<MH702, 7272> are detestable<MH8263> to you. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>‘By these<MH428>, moreover, you will be made<MH2930> unclean<MH2930>; whoever<MH3605> touches<MH5060> them when they are dead<MH4194> becomes<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> until<MH5704> evening<MH6153>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span>Also anything<MH3605> on which<MH834> one of them may fall<MH5307> when they are dead<MH4194> becomes<MH2930> unclean<MH2930>, including<MH4480> any<MH3605> wooden<MH6086> article<MH3627>, or<MH176> clothing<MH899b>, or<MH176> a hide<MH5785>, or<MH176> a sack<MH8242>—any<MH3605> article<MH3627> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>of which<MH834> use<MH4399> is made<MH6213a>—it shall be put<MH935> in the water<MH4325> and be<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> until<MH5704> evening<MH6153>, then it becomes<MH2891> clean<MH2891>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span>As for any<MH3605> earthenware<MH2789> vessel<MH3627> into which<MH834> one of them may fall<MH5307>, whatever<MH3605, 834> is in it becomes<MH2930> unclean<MH2930> and you shall break<MH7665> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>the vessel. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span>Any<MH4480, 3605> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>food<MH400> which<MH834> may be eaten<MH398>, on which<MH834> water<MH4325> comes<MH935>, shall become<MH2930> unclean<MH2930>, and any<MH3605> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>liquid<MH4945b> which<MH834> may be<MH8354> drunk<MH8354> in every<MH3605> vessel<MH3627> shall become<MH2930> unclean<MH2930>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/11-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span>Moreover, everything<MH3605> on which<MH834> part of their carcass<MH5038> may fall<MH5307> becomes<MH2930> unclean<MH2930>;
