The integrated platform will be applied to the external aqueduct system of the city of Patras, Greece. In the framework of the project, a high tech control system - an executive operational platform will be developed for the:</p> <ol type="1"> <li>Real-time data collection and processing from multiple systems/sources, for the visualization, business monitoring, energy management and operational control of water supply networks.</li> <li>Near real-time detection of network malfunctions, failures and bursts, with the option for automatic alarms, system generated alerts and messages.</li> <li>Generation of short and longer-term forecasts for the water demand and the corresponding energy consumption rates, based on hydrometeorological data and environmental indices. </li> </ol> <p>The platform, which in under-development and has the capacity to expand, acts as an "umbrella" to the existing infrastructure, providing tools that facilitate the monitoring of energy consumption, the operation of individual system components, and the assessment of the corresponding environmental footprint.</p> <p>This research project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under the call RESEARCH - CREATE - INNOVATE (project code: T2EDK-04177). The project was launched in July 2020 and it is coordinated by the Centre of Renewable Energy Sources (CRES), while the Municipal Enterprise of Water Supply and Sewerage of the City of Patras and University of Patras are also participating.
