CILT India will also provide knowledge enhancement and networking opportunities for the professionals through its various Online and Offline events like Seminars and Conferences.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Overview of Indian Logistics and Transport sector</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Globalization of supply chains has resulted in increasing complexity of Logistics needs globally. Its impact is also felt in the Indian Logistics industry, which is conservatively estimated to be around USD 60 Billion with a CAGR growth of around 10%. With the expected spurt in GDP after a few years of below par growth, Indian Logistics market is poised to take a quantum leap and reach approximately USD 90 Billion by 2019. The government is actively addressing some of the issues hindering the growth of Indian Logistics industry like complex tax laws regarding trade documentation, poor infrastructure and insufficient use of available technology. Imminent adoption of GST, Usage of RFID and other newer technologies to avoid road congestion in Toll plazas and State Borders, infrastructure boost in terms of Dedicated Rail and Road Freight corridors, development of newer ports and additional facilities in old ports, development of newer Inland Waterways etc., Humungous growth of the E-Commerce sector, are expected to give a huge fillip to the Logistics and Transport industry in India. Increasing competition and cost pressures faced by the industry are also forcing the corporate sector to outsource their Logistics requirements at a fast pace and also to imbibe and adopt global best practices.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">A new dawn is rising in the Indian Logistics scenario with proactive and business friendly government policies, favourable global business outlook and renewed optimism in the industrial environment.
