This fulfils Principle VI which<font size="2"> states: 'Efforts should be made to establish a central registry of such information'.  </font></p> <p>The Central Registry is an independent charitable organisation under the auspices of the <a href="http://users.ox.ac.uk/%7Eochjs/">Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies</a>, which is affiliated with the University of Oxford, and was <font size="2"> established through an initiative of the </font><a href="https://www.lootedartcommission.com/"><font color="#d17416" size="2">Commission for Looted Art in Europe.</font></a> The Commission is the expert body in Europe which researches, locates and recovers looted cultural property for families and institutions from all over the world. </p> <p>The resources of the Central Registry are freely available. </p> <p>The site is a work in progress and new data will be added each week. The Central Registry staff hope the site will be a valuable resource for all kinds of users and that it will help increase understanding and knowledge of this devastating period of European cultural history. </p> <p>The Central Registry holds information on over 20,000 objects from over 12 countries, as well as historical and current documentation from over 40 countries.
