The conservation law is an important principle in physics and mathematics. However, many well-known numerical methods for solving diffusion equations do not obey conservation laws. Our presented method in this paper combines the divergence theorem with a generalized finite difference method and obeys the conservation law on discrete closed surfaces. We use the similar method to solve the Cahn-Hilliard equations on evolving spherical surfaces and observe stability results in our numerical simulations. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=conservation%20laws" title="conservation laws">conservation laws</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diffusion%20equations" title=" diffusion equations"> diffusion equations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cahn-Hilliard%20equations" title=" Cahn-Hilliard equations"> Cahn-Hilliard equations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=evolving%20surfaces" title=" evolving surfaces"> evolving surfaces</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/56432/a-numerical-method-for-diffusion-and-cahn-hilliard-equations-on-evolving-spherical-surfaces" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/56432.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">494</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">709</span> Sleep Scheduling Schemes Integrating Relay Node and User Equipment in LTE-A</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chun-Chuan%20Yang">Chun-Chuan Yang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jeng-Yueng%20Chen"> Jeng-Yueng Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yi-Ting%20Mai"> Yi-Ting Mai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hsieh-Hua%20Liu"> Hsieh-Hua Liu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> By introduction of Relay Nodes (RNs), LTE-Advanced can provide enhanced coverage and capacity at cell edges and hot-spot areas. The authors have been researching the issue of power saving in mobile communications technology such as WiMax and LTE for some years. Based on the idea of Load-Based Power Saving (LBPS), three efficient power saving schemes for the user equipment (UE) were proposed in the authors’ previous work. In this paper, three revised schemes of the previous work in order to integrate RN and UE in power saving are proposed. Simulation study shows the proposed schemes can achieve significantly better power saving efficiency than the standard based scheme at the cost of moderately increased delay. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DRX" title="DRX">DRX</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=LTE-A" title=" LTE-A"> LTE-A</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20saving" title=" power saving"> power saving</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RN" title=" RN"> RN</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19999/sleep-scheduling-schemes-integrating-relay-node-and-user-equipment-in-lte-a" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19999.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">524</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">708</span> Online Measurement of Fuel Stack Elongation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sung%20Ho%20Ahn">Sung Ho Ahn</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jintae%20Hong"> Jintae Hong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chang%20Young%20Joung"> Chang Young Joung</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tae%20Ho%20Yang"> Tae Ho Yang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sung%20Ho%20Heo"> Sung Ho Heo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seo%20Yun%20Jang"> Seo Yun Jang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The performances of nuclear fuels and materials are qualified at an irradiation system in research reactors operating under the commercial nuclear power plant conditions. There were a certain number of scheduling algorithms for quay crane operations, but without considering some nuisance factors that might disrupt the quay crane operations. For example, bad grapples make a crane unable to load or unload containers or a sudden strong breeze stops operations temporarily. Although these disruptive conditions randomly occur, they influence the efficiency of quay crane operations. The disruption is not considered in the operational procedures nor is evaluated in advance for its impacts. Early detection and treatment of depression can dramatically promote remission and prevent relapse. However, conventional ways of depression diagnosis require considerable human effort and cause economic burden, while still being prone to misdiagnosis. On the other hand, recent studies report that physical characteristics are major contributors to the diagnosis of depression, which inspires us to mine the internal relationship by neural networks instead of relying on clinical experiences. In this paper, neural networks are constructed to predict depression from physical characteristics. Two initialization methods are examined - Xaiver and Kaiming initialization. Traditional CS based methods have to assume that unknown scatters exactly lie on the pre-divided grids; otherwise, their reconstruction performance dropped significantly. In this processing algorithm, several basis shifts are utilized to achieve the same effect as grid refinement does. The detailed implementation of the basis shift algorithm is presented in this paper. From the simulation we can see that using the basis shift algorithm, imaging precision can be improved. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method are investigated by the simulation results. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ISAR%20imaging" title="ISAR imaging">ISAR imaging</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sparse%20reconstruction" title=" sparse reconstruction"> sparse reconstruction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=off-grid" title=" off-grid"> off-grid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=basis%20shift" title=" basis shift"> basis shift</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90250/off-grid-sparse-inverse-synthetic-aperture-imaging-by-basis-shift-algorithm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90250.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">265</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">700</span> A Case from China on the Situation of Knowledge Management in Government</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Qiaoyun%20Yang">Qiaoyun Yang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Organizational scholars have paid enormous attention on how local governments manage their knowledge during the past two decades. Government knowledge management (KM) research recognizes that the management of knowledge flows and networks is critical to reforms on government service efficiency and the effect of administration. When dealing with complex affairs, all the limitations resulting from a lack of KM concept, processes and technologies among all the involved organizations begin to be exposed and further compound the processing difficulty of the affair. As a result, the challenges for individual or group knowledge sharing, knowledge digging and organizations’ collaboration in government's activities are diverse and immense. Estimation of water seepage or inflow is one of the main challenges in probabilistic assessment of tunnels. The methodology proposed in this study is an attempt for mathematically modeling the water seepage in tunnel structures and further predicting its service life. GRCNN is trained end-to-end, which can predict edge and node information of the flow chart simultaneously. The defect of metal break located on the step is one of the main failure mechanisms of bipolar ICs, resulting in open-circuit or functional failure. In this situation, general failure localization methods like optical beam-induced resistance change (OBIRCH) and photon emission microscopy (PEM) might not be fully effective. However, active voltage contrast (AVC) can be used as a voltage probe, which may pinpoint the incorrect potential and thus locate the failure position. Two case studies will be present in this paper on how to implement AVC for failure localization, and the detailed failure mechanism will be discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bipolar%20IC" title="bipolar IC">bipolar IC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=failure%20localization" title=" failure localization"> failure localization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metal%20break" title=" metal break"> metal break</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=open%20failure" title=" open failure"> open failure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=voltage%20contrast" title=" voltage contrast"> voltage contrast</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/132527/failure-localization-of-bipolar-integrated-circuits-by-implementing-active-voltage-contrast" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/132527.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">291</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">695</span> A Comparative Study on Automatic Feature Classification Methods of Remote Sensing Images </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lee%20Jeong%20Min">Lee Jeong Min</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lee%20Mi%20Hee"> Lee Mi Hee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Eo%20Yang%20Dam"> Eo Yang Dam</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Geospatial feature extraction is a very important issue in the remote sensing research. Our results are also robustness to address for the potential endogeneity problems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=derivative%20usage" title="derivative usage">derivative usage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ownership%20structure" title=" ownership structure"> ownership structure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bank%20value" title=" bank value"> bank value</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13524/derivative-usage-ownership-structure-and-bank-value-in-european-countries" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13524.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">348</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">689</span> Adaptive Cooperative Scheme Considering the User Location</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bit-Na%20Kwon">Bit-Na Kwon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hyun-Jee%20Yang"> Hyun-Jee Yang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dong-Hyun%20Ha"> Dong-Hyun Ha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hyoung-Kyu%20Song"> Hyoung-Kyu Song</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, an adaptive cooperative scheme in the cell edge is proposed. The proposed scheme considers the location of a user and applies the suitable cooperative scheme. In cellular systems, the performance of communication is degraded if the user is located in the cell edge. In conventional scheme, two base stations are used in order to obtain diversity gain. However, the performance of communication is not sufficiently improved since the distance between each base station and a user is still distant. Therefore, we propose a scheme that the relays are used and the cooperative scheme is adaptively applied according to the user location. We present an efficient lightless intersection traffic control scheme that only requires Level 1 AV as defined by NHTSA. The technological barriers of such lightless intersection control are thus very low. Our algorithm can also accommodate a mixture of AVs and conventional vehicles. The crude methanolic extract was partitioned with a different solvent system by increasing their polarities (n-hexane, dichloromethane, and methanol). The compounds were fractionated and isolated from n-hexane partition by using column chromatography with silica gel 60 or Sephadex LH-20 as a stationary phase and preparative thin layer chromatographic technique. Isolates were characterized using TLC, FTIR, UV spectrophotometer and NMR spectroscopy. The n-hexane fractionates yielded a total of four compounds namely N-methyllaurotetanine (1), dicentrine (2), β-sitosterol (3), and stigmasterol (4). The result indicates that the leaves of Actinodaphne sesquipedalis may provide a rich source of alkaloids and triterpenoids. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=actinodaphne%20sesquipedalis" title="actinodaphne sesquipedalis">actinodaphne sesquipedalis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=alkaloids" title=" alkaloids"> alkaloids</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=phytochemical%20investigation" title=" phytochemical investigation"> phytochemical investigation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=triterpenoids" title=" triterpenoids"> triterpenoids</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20389/isolation-and-identification-of-compounds-from-the-leaves-of-actinodaphne-sesquipedalis-hook-f-var-glabra-lauraceae" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20389.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">396</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">686</span> Using SNAP and RADTRAD to Establish the Analysis Model for Maanshan PWR Plant</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=J.%20R.%20Wang">J. Reinterpreting the diachroneity of 'intertextuality' in the context of misreading theory extended the range of the 'intermediality' of transmedia to the intense tension between digital images and symbolic images throughout history of images. With the analogy between six categories of revisionary ratios and six steps of digital transformation, digital rhetoric might be illustrated as a linear process reflecting dynamic, intensive relations between digital moving images and original static images. Finally, it was concluded that two-way framework of the rhetoric of transformation of digital images and reversed served as a renarrative structure to revive static images by reconnecting them with digital moving images. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rhetoric" title="rhetoric">rhetoric</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=digital%20art" title=" digital art"> digital art</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intermediality" title=" intermediality"> intermediality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=misreading%20theory" title=" misreading theory"> misreading theory</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/100230/rhetoric-and-renarrative-structure-of-digital-images-in-trans-media" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/100230.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">255</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">684</span> Practice of Applying MIDI Technology to Train Creative Teaching Skills</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yang%20Zhuo">Yang Zhuo</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study explores the integration of MIDI technology as one of the important digital technologies in music teaching, from the perspective of teaching practice, into the process of cultivating students' teaching skills. Understanding people's donation behavior after disasters is of great economic value. However, people's donation behavior is affected by many factors, such as the specific type of disaster, the donor's personal background, etc. Our research is to control and investigate whether people prefer to donate to natural disasters or man-made disasters. We will use both qualitative and quantitative methods to study people's donation behavior, divide disasters into two categories and set up the same disaster scenario, only the factors that lead to the disaster are different. Our results show that under the same disaster scenario, people are more willing to donate to disasters caused by natural factors.
