col-md-8"><h2>Qu’est-ce que l’AMM ?</h2> <p>L’Association Médicale Mondiale (AMM) est une organisation internationale de médecins. Elle a été fondée le 17 septembre 1947, alors que des médecins de quelque 27 pays se réunissaient en première assemblée générale à Paris avec pour objectif d’assurer l’indépendance des médecins et les plus hautes normes possibles en matière d’éthique et de soins – des mesures particulièrement importantes pour les médecins après la Seconde guerre mondiale.L’AMM a toujours été une confédération d’associations professionnelles libres. Elle est financée par les contributions annuelles de ses membres dont le nombre s’élève aujourd’hui à 115.</p> <p>L’AMM constitue pour ses associations membres un forum de libre communication et de coopération active dont le but est de parvenir à un consensus sur les plus hautes normes d’éthique médicale et de compétence professionnelle et de promouvoir l’indépendance professionnelle des médecins.</p> <p>En facilitant l’accès à des prestations de soins de très haute qualité dans un environnement sain, cette association unique permet d’améliorer la qualité de la vie de tous les peuples du monde.</p> <h2>Sa mission?</h2> <p>L’AMM a pour objectif de servir l’humanité en s’efforçant d’atteindre les plus hautes normes internationales en matière d’enseignement médical, de science médicale, d’art médical, d’éthique médicale et de soins de santé pour tous les peuples du monde.</p> <h2>Son rôle</h2> <p>L’organisation, soucieuse de promouvoir les plus hautes normes d’éthique médicale, élabore, sous la forme de déclarations, de résolutions ou de prises de position, des recommandations éthiques pour les médecins. Ces directives s’avèrent également très utiles pour les associations médicales nationales, les gouvernements et les organisations internationales du monde entier. Ces textes traitent une multitude de questions, notamment les droits du patient, la recherche sur les sujets humains, les soins en temps de conflit armé, la torture des prisonniers, l’utilisation et l’abus des médicaments, le planning familial et la pollution.</p> <h2>Autres domaines d’activité:</h2> <ul> <li>les droits de l’homme en relation avec la santé – promotion et défense des droits fondamentaux du patient et du médecin</li> <li>l’enseignement médical – soutien des médecins pour une amélioration continuelle de leurs connaissances et de leurs compétences</li> <li>la planification des ressources humaines pour les services de santé</li> <li>la sécurité du patient</li> <li>les projets de santé publique comme la lutte antitabac, l’immunisation</li> <li>la construction de la démocratie pour les nouvelles associations médicales, en particulier dans les nouvelles démocraties et les démocraties en développement</li> <li>la défense des droits du patient et du médecin</li> <li>la prévention des accidents du travail et des maladies professionnelles</li> </ul> <h2>Collaboration et alliance</h2> <p>L’AMM entretient des relations officielles avec l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS). La collaboration avec les associations professionnelles de santé, les agences gouvernementales et non gouvernementales et les associations médicales régionales renforce sa capacité à fournir les meilleurs soins possibles aux patients du monde entier.
