It is based on secondary sources, mostly from the topics mostly currently discussed by global studies institutes, academic material on the possible components of this phenomenon, and a list of possible scenarios preliminarily proposed by these authors. It also discusses one of these possible scenarios (urban insurgencies) through the lens of a global perspective. Main objective of the research presented in this paper is to produce insights for international aid and development agencies as well as to respond to an increasing interest in the urban studies field in discussing global topics. This paper also results from discussions held in seminars offered by the authors in the graduate program of Urban Management along 2021 and 2022. It is part of a research project that puts together an international team of researches, mostly from the Global South. Results so far obtained refer to conceptual aspects for the determination of global urban scenarios and the presentation of urban insurgencies as worldwide trending urban phenomenon. Presentation in the seminar is part of an ongoing discussion. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20global%20scenarios" title="urban global scenarios">urban global scenarios</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=contemporary%20cities" title=" contemporary cities"> contemporary cities</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=global%20south" title=" global south"> global south</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20insurgencies" title=" urban insurgencies"> urban insurgencies</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/150959/contemporary-global-urban-scenarios-an-essay-on-urban-insurgencies" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/150959.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">106</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">30</span> Implementation of a Serializer to Represent PHP Objects in the Extensible Markup Language</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20N.%20Hern%C3%A1ndez-Pi%C3%B1a">Lidia N. The research in the sea showed that the taxonomic composition of holoplankton in the southern part of the Baltic Sea was similar to that recorded in this region for many years. The maximum values of abundance and biomass of zooplankton both in the Deep and the Bay of Gdańsk were observed in the summer season. Copepoda dominated in the composition of zooplankton for almost the entire study period, while rotifers occurred in larger numbers only in the summer 2010 in the Gdańsk Deep as well as in May and July 2010 in the western part of Gdańsk Bay, and meroplankton – in April 2011. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Baltic%20Sea" title="Baltic Sea">Baltic Sea</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=composition" title=" composition"> composition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gda%C5%84sk%20Bay" title=" Gdańsk Bay"> Gdańsk Bay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=zooplankton" title=" zooplankton"> zooplankton</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/25566/studies-of-zooplankton-in-gdansk-basin-2010-2011" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/25566.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">433</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">28</span> Occupational Stress in Nurses of a Maternity Ward in Lubango, Angola </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=L%C3%ADdia%20Chienda">Lídia Chienda</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tchilissila%20A.%20Simoes"> Tchilissila A. Working in these health facilities may be of great challenge for health professionals. In this study, we aimed to identify the presence of occupational stress in 76 nurses working in a maternity ward in Lubango, Southern Angola. The participants completed the Health Professional Stress Questionnaire and reported a moderate and high level of stress. To these individuals, 'receiving a low salary,' 'inadequate/insufficient salary,' 'overwork or very demanding work' and 'working long hours in a row' seemed to be the main indicators of occupational stress. Moreover, there was an influence of the work overload, the remuneration earned, the career, and family conflicts in the occupational stress index. These results contributed to a better understanding of the difficulties Angolan nurses are facing and the need to implement policies that envisage the wellbeing of this population. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Africa" title="Africa">Africa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=maternity%20wards" title=" maternity wards"> maternity wards</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nursing" title=" nursing"> nursing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=occupational%20stress" title=" occupational stress "> occupational stress </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126805/occupational-stress-in-nurses-of-a-maternity-ward-in-lubango-angola" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126805.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">202</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">27</span> Measuring Tail-Risk Spillover in the International Banking Industry</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Sanchis-Marco">Lidia Sanchis-Marco</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Antonio%20Rubia"> Antonio Rubia</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper we analyze the state-dependent risk-spillover in different economic areas. To this end, we apply the quantile regression-based methodology developed in Adams, Füss and Gropp approach to examine the spillover in conditional tails of daily returns of indices of the banking industry in the US, BRICs, Peripheral EMU, Core EMU, Scandinavia, the UK and Emerging Markets. This methodology allow us to characterize size, direction and strength of financial contagion in a network of bilateral exposures to address cross-border vulnerabilities under different states of the economy. The general evidence shows as the spillover effects are higher and more significant in volatile periods than in tranquil ones. There is evidence of tail spillovers of which much is attributable to a spillover from the US on the rest of the analyzed regions, specially on European countries. In sharp contrast, the US banking system show more financial resilience against foreign shocks. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spillover%20effects" title="spillover effects">spillover effects</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bank%20Contagion" title=" Bank Contagion"> Bank Contagion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SDSVaR" title=" SDSVaR"> SDSVaR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=expected%20shortfall" title=" expected shortfall"> expected shortfall</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=VaR" title=" VaR"> VaR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=expectiles" title=" expectiles"> expectiles</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21376/measuring-tail-risk-spillover-in-the-international-banking-industry" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21376.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">494</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">26</span> Effect of Clay Brick Filler on Properties of Self-Compacting Lightweight Concrete</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sandra%20Juradin">Sandra Juradin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Karla%20Vranjes"> Lidia Karla Vranjes </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The environmental impact of the components of concrete is considerable. The paper presents the influence of ground clay brick filler on the properties of self-compacting lightweight concrete (SCLC). In the manufacture and transport of clay bricks, product damage may occur. The filler was obtained by milling the damaged clay brick and sieved under the 0.04 mm size. The composition of each of SCLC mixture was determined according to the CBI method and compared with EFNARC (European Association) criteria. Self-compacting lightweight concrete has been tested in a fresh (slump flow method, visual assessment of stability, T50 time, V-funnel method, L-box method and J-ring) and hardened state (compressive strengths and dynamic modulus of elasticity). Mixtures with this filler had good results of compressive strength, but in fresh state the mixtures were sticky. For a better understanding of the behavior of soil, it is necessary to know its origin. The analyzed samples came from the subgrade layer of a highway that connects the cities of Muniches and Yurimaguas in Loreto, Peru. The material in this area usually has properties such as low support index, medium to high plasticity, and other characteristics that make it considered a ‘problematic’ soil due to factors such as climate, humidity, and geographical location. In addition, PET fibers are obtained from the decomposition of plastic bottles that are polluting agents with a high production rate in our country; in that sense, their use in a construction process represents a considerable reduction in environmental impact. Moreover, to perform a precise analysis of the behavior of this soil mixed with PET, tests such as the hydrometer test, Proctor and CBR with 15%, 10%, 5%, 4%, 3%, and 1% of PET with respect to the mass of the sample of natural soil were carried out. The results show that when a low percentage of PET is used, the support index increases. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=environmental%20impact" title="environmental impact">environmental impact</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=geotechnics" title=" geotechnics"> geotechnics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PET" title=" PET"> PET</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=silty%20clay%20soil" title=" silty clay soil"> silty clay soil</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139463/bearing-capacity-improvement-in-a-silty-clay-soil-with-crushed-polyethylene-terephthalate" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139463.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">237</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">24</span> Methodology for Developing an Intelligent Tutoring System Based on Marzano’s Taxonomy</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Joaquin%20Navarro%20Perales">Joaquin Navarro Perales</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ana%20Lidia%20Franzoni%20Vel%C3%A1zquez"> Ana Lidia Franzoni Velázquez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Francisco%20Cervantes%20P%C3%A9rez"> Francisco Cervantes Pérez</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Mexican educational system faces diverse challenges related with the quality and coverage of education. The development of Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) may help to solve some of them by helping teachers to customize their classes according to the performance of the students in online courses. In this work, we propose the adaptation of a functional ITS based on Bloom&rsquo;s taxonomy called <em>Sistema de Apoyo Generalizado para la Ense&ntilde;anza Individualizada</em> (SAGE), to measure student&rsquo;s metacognition and their emotional response based on Marzano&rsquo;s taxonomy. The students and the system will share the control over the advance in the course, so they can improve their metacognitive skills. The system will not allow students to get access to subjects not mastered yet. The interaction between the system and the student will be implemented through Natural Language Processing techniques, thus avoiding the use of sensors to evaluate student&rsquo;s response. The teacher will evaluate student&rsquo;s knowledge utilization, which is equivalent to the last cognitive level in Marzano&rsquo;s taxonomy. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intelligent%20tutoring%20systems" title="intelligent tutoring systems">intelligent tutoring systems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=student%20modelling" title=" student modelling"> student modelling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metacognition" title=" metacognition"> metacognition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=affective%20computing" title=" affective computing"> affective computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=natural%20language%20processing" title=" natural language processing"> natural language processing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/96468/methodology-for-developing-an-intelligent-tutoring-system-based-on-marzanos-taxonomy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/96468.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">197</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23</span> Market Illiquidity and Pricing Errors in the Term Structure of CDS</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Sanchis-Marco">Lidia Sanchis-Marco</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Antonio%20Rubia"> Antonio Rubia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pedro%20Serrano"> Pedro Serrano</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper studies the informational content of pricing errors in the term structure of sovereign CDS spreads. The residuals from a non-arbitrage model are employed to construct a Price discrepancy estimate, or noise measure. The noise estimate is understood as an indicator of market distress and reflects frictions such as illiquidity. Empirically, the noise measure is computed for an extensive panel of CDS spreads. Our results reveal an important fraction of systematic risk is not priced in default swap contracts. When projecting the noise measure onto a set of financial variables, the panel-data estimates show that greater price discrepancies are systematically related to a higher level of offsetting transactions of CDS contracts. This evidence suggests that arbitrage capital flows exit the marketplace during time of distress, and this consistent with a market segmentation among investors and arbitrageurs where professional arbitrageurs are particularly ineffective at bringing prices to their fundamental values during turbulent periods. Our empirical findings are robust for the most common CDS pricing models employed in the industry. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=credit%20default%20swaps" title="credit default swaps">credit default swaps</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=noise%20measure" title=" noise measure"> noise measure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=illiquidity" title=" illiquidity"> illiquidity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=capital%20arbitrage" title=" capital arbitrage"> capital arbitrage</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21364/market-illiquidity-and-pricing-errors-in-the-term-structure-of-cds" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21364.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">569</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">22</span> Frequency of Gastrointestinal Manifestations in Systemic Sclerosis and Impact of Rituximab Treatment</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liudmila%20Garzanova">Liudmila Garzanova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Ananyeva"> Lidia Ananyeva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Koneva"> Olga Koneva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Ovsyannikova"> Olga Ovsyannikova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oxana%20Desinova"> Oxana Desinova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayya%20Starovoytova"> Mayya Starovoytova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rushana%20Shayahmetova"> Rushana Shayahmetova</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objectives. Gastrointestinal involvement is one of the most common manifestations of systemic sclerosis (SSc). The aim of our study was to assess the frequency of gastrointestinal manifestations in SSc patients (pts) with interstitial lung disease (ILD) and their changes to rituximab (RTX) therapy. Methods. There were 103 pts with SSc in this study. The mean follow-up period was 12.6±10.7 months. The mean age was 47±12.9 years, females - 87 pts (84%), and the diffuse cutaneous subset of the disease 55 pts (53%). The mean disease duration was 6.2±5.5 years. All pts had ILD and were positive for ANA. 67% of them were positive for anti-topoisomerase-1. All patients received prednisolone at a dose of 11.3±4.5 mg/day, and immunosuppressants at inclusion received 47% of them. Pts received RTX due to the ineffectiveness of previous therapy for ILD. The cumulative mean dose of RTX was 1.7±0.6 grams. 90% of pts received omeprazole at a dose of 20-40 mg/day. Results. At inclusion, dysphagia was observed in 76 pts (74%), early satiety or vomiting in 32 pts (31%), and diarrhea in 20 pts (19%). We didn't observe any changes in gastrointestinal manifestation during RTX therapy. There was a decrease in the number of pts with dysphagia from 76 (74%) to 66 (64%), but it was insignificant. The number of pts with early satiety or vomiting and diarrhea didn't change. Conclusion. In our study, gastrointestinal involvement was observed in most of the pts with SSc-ILD. We didn't find any significant changes in gastrointestinal manifestations during RTX therapy. RXT does not worsen gastrointestinal manifestations in SSc-ILD. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=systemic%20sclerosis" title="systemic sclerosis">systemic sclerosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dysphagia" title=" dysphagia"> dysphagia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rituximab" title=" rituximab"> rituximab</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gastrointestinal%20manifestations" title=" gastrointestinal manifestations"> gastrointestinal manifestations</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162355/frequency-of-gastrointestinal-manifestations-in-systemic-sclerosis-and-impact-of-rituximab-treatment" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162355.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">82</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21</span> Virtual Co-Creation Model in Hijab Fashion Industry: Business Model Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lisandy%20A.%20Suryana">Lisandy A. One of the sectors of creative industry which give the highest contribution toward Indonesia’s GDP is fashion sector. In line with the target of Indonesia in 2020 to be the qibla’ of moeslem fashion of the world, all of the stakeholders of the business ecosystem should collaborate. Rather than focus on the internal aspects of producer, external aspects such as customers, government, community, etc. become important to be involved in the ecosystem to support the development and sustainability of those fashion sector. Unfortunately, although Indonesia has the biggest moeslem population, the number of hijab business penetration only 10%. Therefore, this research aims to analyze and develop the virtual co-creation platform for hijab creative industry as the strategy to achieve sustainability and increase the market share. This preliminary research describes the main stakeholders in the hijab creative industry based on business model approach. However, muscle behavior before and after performing a functional task with different load conditions is not yet fully understood. The aim of this study is to analyze lumbar muscle activity before and after performing the functional task of picking up and placing an object on the ground (with and without load) in individuals with nonspecific chronic low back pain. 20 subjects with nonspecific chronic low back pain and 20 healthy subjects participated in this study. A surface electromyography was performed in the ilio-costal, longissimus and multifidus muscles to evaluate lumbar muscle activity before and after performing the functional task of picking up and placing an object on the ground, with and without load. The symptomatic participants had greater lumbar muscle activation compared to the asymptomatic group, more evident in performing the task without load, with statistically significant difference (p = 0,033) between groups for the right multifidus muscle. This study showed that individuals with nonspecific chronic low back pain have higher muscle activation before and after performing a functional task compared to healthy participants. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chronic%20low%20back%20pain" title="chronic low back pain">chronic low back pain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=functional%20task" title=" functional task"> functional task</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lumbar%20muscles" title=" lumbar muscles"> lumbar muscles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=muscle%20activity" title=" muscle activity"> muscle activity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/135179/pain-and-lumbar-muscle-activation-before-and-after-functional-task-in-nonspecific-chronic-low-back-pain" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/135179.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">197</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">19</span> True Single SKU Script: Applying the Automated Test to Set Software Properties in a Global Software Development Environment</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Antonio%20Brigido">Antonio Brigido</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Meireles"> Maria Meireles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Francisco%20Barros"> Francisco Barros</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gaspar%20Mota"> Gaspar Mota</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fernanda%20Terra"> Fernanda Terra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Melo"> Lidia Melo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marcelo%20Reis"> Marcelo Reis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Camilo%20Souza"> Camilo Souza</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> As the globalization of the software process advances, companies are increasingly committed to improving software development technologies across multiple locations. On the other hand, working with teams distributed in different locations also raises new challenges. In this sense, automated processes can help to improve the quality of process execution. Therefore, this work presents the development of a tool called TSS Script that automates the sample preparation process for carrier requirements validation tests. The objective of the work is to obtain significant gains in execution time and reducing errors in scenario preparation. To estimate the gains over time, the executions performed in an automated and manual way were timed. In addition, a questionnaire-based survey was developed to discover new requirements and improvements to include in this automated support. The results show an average gain of 46.67% of the total hours worked, referring to sample preparation. The use of the tool avoids human errors, and for this reason, it adds greater quality and speed to the process. Another relevant factor is the fact that the tester can perform other activities in parallel with sample preparation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Android" title="Android">Android</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=GSD" title=" GSD"> GSD</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=automated%20testing%20tool" title=" automated testing tool"> automated testing tool</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mobile%20products" title=" mobile products"> mobile products</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139796/true-single-sku-script-applying-the-automated-test-to-set-software-properties-in-a-global-software-development-environment" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139796.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">317</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">18</span> Effect of Rituximab Therapy Depending on the Age of Disease Onset in Systemic Sclerosis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liudmila%20Garzanova">Liudmila Garzanova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Ananyeva"> Lidia Ananyeva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Koneva"> Olga Koneva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Ovsyannikova"> Olga Ovsyannikova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oxana%20Desinova"> Oxana Desinova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayya%20Starovoytova"> Mayya Starovoytova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rushana%20Shayahmetova"> Rushana Shayahmetova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anna%20Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva"> Anna Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objectives. Moreover, another product is tofu flour which is not familiar in Indonesia yet and it is well known as Okara. There are massive differences of energy, protein and carbohydrate between them which is know as good for protein sources as well. Unfortunately, it is seldom used as food variety. Basically, it can be benefit in order to create many products for example cakes, snacks and some desserts. Aim: the study was in order to promote the benefit of tofu flour as school feeding of elementary school and baby porridge and also to compare the nutrient. Method: Soy pulp was filtered and steamed approximately 30 minutes. Then, it was put at a plate under sunrise or barked on the oven for 10 hours at 800C. When it have dried and milling and tofu flour is ready to be used. Result: Tofu flour could be used as substitute of flour and rice flour when people want to cook some foods. In addition, some references said that soy bean is good for a specific remedy for the proper functioning of the heart, liver, kidneys, stomach, and bowels, constipation, as a stimulant for the lungs, for eradication of poison from the system, improving the complexion by cleaning the skin of impurities, and stimulating the growth and appearance of the hair. Fish skin may be used as a source of bioactive compounds. The advantage is that fish skin is a by-product of the food industry. The subject of the study is a lyophilizate consisting of a mixture of compounds from the group of glycosaminoglycans and collagen obtained as a result of processing fish skins. Bioactive compounds may find biomedical use in the production of dressing materials for wounds or in tissue engineering for the production of scaffolds for cells. Collagen and glycosaminoglycans were isolated from Salmo salar skin. The final mixture was obtained by the freeze-drying method. In the obtained lyophilizate, the content of amino acids was studied as well as the presence of polysaccharides. The studies showed the presence of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, which are the main amino acids of collagen. The HPLC analysis showed the presence of glucose which is a product of polysaccharides hydrolyzation and then reduction of glucuronic acid. It may be assumed that the lyophilizate contains both collagen and polysaccharide, which is probably hyaluronic acid. Acknowledgment: This work was carried out as a result of research project no. The SIDIA’s Model Team (MT) is a part of Samsung’s Mobile Division Area, which is responsible for the development of Android releases embedded in Samsung mobile devices. Basically, in this software development process, the kickoff occurs in some strategic countries (e.g., South Korea) where some software requirements are applied and the initial software tests are performed. When the software achieves a more mature level, a new branch is derived, and the development continues in subsidiaries from other strategic countries (e.g., SIDIA-Brazil). However, even in the newly created branches, there are several interactions between developers from different nationalities in order to fix bugs reported during test activities, apply some specific requirements from partners and develop new features as well. Despite the GSD strategy contributes to improving software development, some challenges are also introduced as well. In this paper, we share the initial results about the application of the failure modes and effect analysis (FMEA) concept in the software development process followed by the SIDIA’s model team. The main goal was to identify and mitigate the process potential failures through the application of recommended actions. The initial results show that the application of the FMEA concept allows us to identify the potential failures in our GSD process as well as to propose corrective actions to mitigate them. Finally, FMEA encouraged members of different teams to take actions that contribute to improving our GSD process. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=global%20software%20development" title="global software development">global software development</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=potential%20failures" title=" potential failures"> potential failures</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FMEA" title=" FMEA"> FMEA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recommended%20actions" title=" recommended actions"> recommended actions</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139768/applying-failure-modes-and-effect-analysis-concept-in-a-global-software-development-process" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139768.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">227</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">14</span> Prevalence of Human Papillomavirus in Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions and Cervical Cancer in Women of the North of Chihuahua, Mexico</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Estefania%20Ponce-Amaya">Estefania Ponce-Amaya</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ana%20Lidia%20Arellano-Ortiz"> Ana Lidia Arellano-Ortiz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cecilia%20Diaz-Hernandez"> Cecilia Diaz-Hernandez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jose%20Alberto%20Lopez-Diaz"> Jose Alberto Lopez-Diaz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Antonio%20De%20La%20Mora-Covarrubias"> Antonio De La Mora-Covarrubias</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Claudia%20Lucia%20Vargas-Requena"> Claudia Lucia Vargas-Requena</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mauricio%20Salcedo-Vargas"> Mauricio Salcedo-Vargas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Florinda%20Jimenez-Vega"> Florinda Jimenez-Vega </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cervical Cancer (CC) is the second leading cause of death among women worldwide and it had been associated with a persistent infection of human papillomavirus (HPV). The goal of the current study was to identify the prevalence of HPV infection in women with abnormal Pap smear who were attended at Dysplasia Clinic of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Methods: Cervical samples from 146 patients, who attended the Colposcopy Clinic at Sanitary Jurisdiction II of Cd Juarez, were collected for histopathology and molecular study. DNA was isolated for the HPV detection by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) using MY09/011 and GP5/6 primers. The associated risk factors were assessed by a questionnaire. The statistical analysis was performed by ANOVA, using EpiINFO V7 software. Results: HPV infection was present in 142 patients (97.3 %). The prevalence of HPV infection was distributed in a 96% of all evaluated groups, low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL), high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HISIL) and CC. We found a statistical significance (α = <0.05) between gestation and number of births as risk factors. The median values showed an ascending tend according with the lesion progression. However, CC showed a statistically significant difference with respect to the pre-carcinogenic stages. Conclusions: In these Mexican patients exists a high prevalence of HPV infection, and for that reason, we are studying the most prevalent HPV genotypes in this population. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cervical%20cancer" title="cervical cancer">cervical cancer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HPV" title=" HPV"> HPV</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=prevalence%20hpv" title=" prevalence hpv"> prevalence hpv</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=squamous%20intraepithelial%20lesion" title=" squamous intraepithelial lesion"> squamous intraepithelial lesion</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/79528/prevalence-of-human-papillomavirus-in-squamous-intraepithelial-lesions-and-cervical-cancer-in-women-of-the-north-of-chihuahua-mexico" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/79528.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">320</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">13</span> Changes of Acute-phase Reactants in Systemic Sclerosis During Long-term Rituximab Therapy</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liudmila%20Garzanova">Liudmila Garzanova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Ananyeva"> Lidia Ananyeva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Koneva"> Olga Koneva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Ovsyannikova"> Olga Ovsyannikova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oxana%20Desinova"> Oxana Desinova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayya%20Starovoytova"> Mayya Starovoytova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rushana%20Shayahmetova"> Rushana Shayahmetova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anna%20Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva"> Anna Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objectives. In this study, expanded perlite mortars with recycled cement (RC) were obtained and characterized. The recycled cement was obtained from demolition concrete waste. The concrete waste was crushed in a jaw and grinded in a horizontal ball mill to reduce the material's average grain size. Finally, the fine particles were sieved through a 125 µm sieve. The recycled cement was prepared by heating demolition concrete waste at 550°C for 3 hours. At this temperature, the decarbonization does not occur. The utilization of recycled cement can minimize the negative environmental effects of demolished concrete landfills as well as the demand for natural resources used in cement manufacturing. Commercial cement CEM II/A-LL 42.5R was substituted by 10%, 20%, and 30% recycled cement. By substituting reference cement (CEM II/A-LL 42.5R) by RC, a decrease in cement aqueous suspension pH, electrical conductivity, and Ca²⁺ concentration was observed for all measurements (2 hours, 6 hours, 24 hours, 4 days, and 7 days). After 2 hours, pH value was 12.42 for reference and conductivity of 2220 µS/cm and decreased to 12.27, respectively 1570 µS/cm for 30% RC. The concentration of Ca²⁺ estimated by complexometric titration was 20% lower in suspension with 30% RC in comparison to reference for 2 hours. The difference significantly diminishes over time. The mortars have cement: expanded perlite volume ratio of 1:3 and consistency between 140 mm and 200 mm. The density of fresh mortar was about 1400 kg/m3. The density, flexural and compressive strengths, water absorption, and thermal conductivity of hardened mortars were tested. Due to its properties, expanded perlite mortar is a good thermal insulation material. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=concrete%20waste" title="concrete waste">concrete waste</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=expanded%20perlite" title=" expanded perlite"> expanded perlite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mortar" title=" mortar"> mortar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recycled%20cement" title=" recycled cement"> recycled cement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermal%20conductivity" title=" thermal conductivity"> thermal conductivity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechanical%20strength" title=" mechanical strength"> mechanical strength</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/176724/assessment-of-physical-and-mechanical-properties-of-perlite-mortars-with-recycled-cement" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/176724.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">89</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">11</span> Regulation Aspects for a Radioisotope Production Installation in Brazil</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rian%20O.%20Miranda">Rian O. The Nuclear Engineering Institute (IEN), located at Rio de Janeiro, is one of its main centers of research and production, attending public and private hospitals in the state. This radiopharmaceutical production is used in diagnostic and therapy procedures and allows one and a half million nuclear medicine procedures annually. Despite this, the country is not self-sufficient to meet national demand, creating the need for importation and consequent dependence on other countries. However, IEN facilities were designed in the 60's, and today its structure is inadequate in relation to the good manufacturing practices established by sanitary regulator (ANVISA) and radiological protection leading to the need for a new project. In order to adapt and increase production in the country, a new plant will be built and integrated to the existing facilities with a new 30 MeV Cyclotron that is actually in project detailing process. Thus, it is proposed to survey current CNEN and ANVISA standards for radiopharmaceutical production facilities, as well as the radiological protection analysis of each area of the plant, following good manufacturing practices recommendations adopted nationally besides licensing exigencies for radioactive facilities. In this way, the main requirements for proper operation, equipment location, building materials, area classification, and maintenance program have been implemented. The access controls, interlocks, segregation zones and pass-through boxes integrated into the project were also analyzed. As a result, IEN will in future have the flexibility to produce all necessary radioisotopes for nuclear medicine application, more efficiently by simultaneously bombarding two targets, allowing the simultaneous production of two different radioisotopes, minimizing radiation exposure and saving operating costs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cyclotron" title="cyclotron">cyclotron</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=legislation" title=" legislation"> legislation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=norms" title=" norms"> norms</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=production" title=" production"> production</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=radiopharmaceuticals" title=" radiopharmaceuticals"> radiopharmaceuticals</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101053/regulation-aspects-for-a-radioisotope-production-installation-in-brazil" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101053.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">135</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">10</span> Rituximab Therapy for Musculoskeletal Involvement in Systemic Sclerosis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liudmila%20Garzanova">Liudmila Garzanova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Ananyeva"> Lidia Ananyeva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Koneva"> Olga Koneva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Ovsyannikova"> Olga Ovsyannikova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oxana%20Desinova"> Oxana Desinova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayya%20Starovoytova"> Mayya Starovoytova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rushana%20Shayahmetova"> Rushana Shayahmetova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anna%20Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva"> Anna Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objectives. There is very few data on changes of the musculoskeletal manifestations (artritis, arthralgia, muscle weakness, etc.) in systemic sclerosis (SSc) on rituximab (RTX) therapy. This paper introduces "Gamipulation," the subtle manipulation of students via gamification techniques serving hidden agendas without explicit consent. It highlights the need to distinguish between beneficial and exploitative uses of gamification in education, focusing on its potential to psychologically manipulate students for purposes misaligned with their best interests. Through a literature review and expert interviews, this study presents a conceptual framework outlining gamipulation's features. It examines ethical concerns like gradually introducing desired behaviors, using distraction to divert attention from significant learning objectives, immediacy of rewards fostering short-term engagement over long-term learning, infantilization of students, and exploitation of emotional responses over reflective thinking. Additionally, it discusses ethical issues in collecting and utilizing student data within gamified environments.  Key findings suggest that while gamification can enhance motivation and engagement, there's a fine line between ethical motivation and unethical manipulation. The study emphasizes the importance of transparency, respect for student autonomy, and alignment with educational values in gamified systems. It calls for educators and designers to be aware of gamification's manipulative potential and strive for ethical implementation that benefits students. In conclusion, this paper provides a framework for educators and researchers to understand and address gamipulation's ethical challenges. It encourages developing ethical guidelines and practices to ensure gamification in education remains a tool for positive engagement and learning rather than covert manipulation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gradualness" title="gradualness">gradualness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=distraction" title=" distraction"> distraction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=immediacy" title=" immediacy"> immediacy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=infantilization" title=" infantilization"> infantilization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=emotion" title=" emotion"> emotion</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/189011/gamipulation-exploring-covert-manipulation-through-gamification-in-the-context-of-education" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/189011.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">27</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8</span> Duration of the Disease in Systemic Sclerosis and Efficiency of Rituximab Therapy</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liudmila%20Garzanova">Liudmila Garzanova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Ananyeva"> Lidia Ananyeva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Koneva"> Olga Koneva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Ovsyannikova"> Olga Ovsyannikova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oxana%20Desinova"> Oxana Desinova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayya%20Starovoytova"> Mayya Starovoytova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rushana%20Shayahmetova"> Rushana Shayahmetova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anna%20Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva"> Anna Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objectives: The duration of the disease could be one of the leading factors in the effectiveness of therapy in systemic sclerosis (SSc). In group 2 at point 1: ΔFVC = 3.4 (me=2.3; [-0.8;7.9])%, ΔDLCO = 1.5 (me=1.5; [-1.9;4.9])%; at point 2: ΔFVC = 7.6 (me=8.2; [0;12.6])%, ΔDLCO = 3.5 (me=0.7; [-1.6;10.7]) %; at point 3: ΔFVC = 13.2 (me=10.4; [2.8;15.4])%, ΔDLCO = 3.6 (me=1.7; [-2.4;9.2])%. Conclusion: Patients with an early SSc have more quick response to RTX therapy already in 1 year of follow-up. Patients with a disease duration more than 5 years also have response to therapy, but with longer treatment. RTX is effective option for the treatment of ILD-SSc, regardless of the duration of the disease. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interstitial%20lung%20disease" title="interstitial lung disease">interstitial lung disease</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=systemic%20sclerosis" title=" systemic sclerosis"> systemic sclerosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rituximab" title=" rituximab"> rituximab</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=disease%20duration" title=" disease duration"> disease duration</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/189248/duration-of-the-disease-in-systemic-sclerosis-and-efficiency-of-rituximab-therapy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/189248.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">23</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7</span> Wheat Dihaploid and Somaclonal Lines Screening for Resistance to P. nodorum</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Kowalska">Lidia Kowalska</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Edward%20Arseniuk"> Edward Arseniuk</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Glume and leaf blotch is a disease of wheat caused by necrotrophic fungus Parastagonospora nodorum. It is a serious pathogen in many wheat-growing areas throughout the world. Use of resistant cultivars is the most effective and economical means to control the above-mentioned disease. Plant breeders and pathologists have worked intensively to incorporate resistance to the pathogen in new cultivars. Conventional methods of breeding for resistance can be supported by using the biotechnological ones, i.e., somatic embryogenesis and androgenesis. Therefore, an effort was undertaken to compare genetic variation in P. nodorum resistance among winter wheat somaclones, dihaploids and conventional varieties. For the purpose, a population of 16 somaclonal and 4 dihaploid wheat lines from six crosses were used to assess their resistance to P. nodorum under field conditions. Lines were grown in disease-free (fungicide protected) and inoculated micro plots in 2 replications of a split-plot design in a single environment. The plant leaves were inoculated with a mixture of P. nodorum isolates three times. Spore concentrations were adjusted to 4 x 10⁶ of viable spores per one milliliter. The disease severity was rated on a scale, where > 90% – susceptible, < 10% - resistant. Disease ratings of plant leaves showed statistically significant differences among all lines tested. Higher resistance to P. nodorum was observed more often on leaves of somaclonal lines than on dihaploid ones. On average, disease, severity reached 15% on leaves of somaclones and 30% on leaves of dihaploids. Some of the genotypes were showing low leaf infection, e.g. dihaploid D-33 (disease severity 4%) and a somaclone S-1 (disease severity 2%). The results from this study prove that dihaploid and somaclonal variation might be successfully used as an additional source of wheat resistance to the pathogen and it could be recommended to use in commercial breeding programs. The reported results prove that biotechnological methods may effectively be used in breeding for disease resistance of wheat to fungal necrotrophic pathogens. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=glume%20and%20leaf%20blotch" title="glume and leaf blotch">glume and leaf blotch</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=somaclonal" title=" somaclonal"> somaclonal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=androgenic%20variation" title=" androgenic variation"> androgenic variation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wheat" title=" wheat"> wheat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=resistance%20breeding" title=" resistance breeding"> resistance breeding</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/105612/wheat-dihaploid-and-somaclonal-lines-screening-for-resistance-to-p-nodorum" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/105612.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">120</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6</span> Sustainable Integrated Waste Management System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Lombardi">Lidia Lombardi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Waste management in Europe and North America is evolving towards sustainable materials management, intended as a systemic approach to using and reusing materials more productively over their entire life cycles. Various waste management strategies are prioritized and ranked from the most to the least environmentally preferred, placing emphasis on reducing, reusing, and recycling as key to sustainable materials management. However, non-recyclable materials must also be appropriately addressed, and waste-to-energy (WtE) offers a solution to manage them, especially when a WtE plant is integrated within a complex system of waste and wastewater treatment plants and potential users of the output flows. To evaluate the environmental effects of such system integration, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a helpful and powerful tool. LCA has been largely applied to the waste management sector, dating back to the late 1990s, producing a large number of theoretical studies and applications to the real world as support to waste management planning. However, LCA still has a fundamental role in helping the development of waste management systems supporting decisions. Thus, LCA was applied to evaluate the environmental performances of a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) management system, with improved separate material collection and recycling and an integrated network of treatment plants including WtE, anaerobic digestion (AD) and also wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), for a reference study case area. The proposed system was compared to the actual situation, characterized by poor recycling, large landfilling and absence of WtE. The LCA results showed that the increased recycling significantly increases the environmental performances, but there is still room for improvement through the introduction of energy recovery (especially by WtE) and through its use within the system, for instance, by feeding the heat to the AD, to sludge recovery processes and supporting the water reuse practice. WtE offers a solution to manage non-recyclable MSW and allows saving important resources (such as landfill volumes and non-renewable energy), reducing the contribution to global warming, and providing an essential contribution to fulfill the goals of really sustainable waste management. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anaerobic%20digestion" title="anaerobic digestion">anaerobic digestion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life%20cycle%20assessment" title=" life cycle assessment"> life cycle assessment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=waste-to-energy" title=" waste-to-energy"> waste-to-energy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=municipal%20solid%20waste" title=" municipal solid waste"> municipal solid waste</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/181602/sustainable-integrated-waste-management-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/181602.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">60</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5</span> Adequacy of Antenatal Care and Its Relationship with Low Birth Weight in Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil: A Case-Control Study</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=C%C3%A1tia%20Regina%20Branco%20da%20Fonseca">Cátia Regina Branco da Fonseca</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Wany%20Louzada%20Strufaldi"> Maria Wany Louzada Strufaldi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=L%C3%ADdia%20Raquel%20de%20Carvalho"> Lídia Raquel de Carvalho</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rosana%20Fiorini%20Puccini"> Rosana Fiorini Puccini </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Birth weight reflects gestational conditions and development during the fetal period. Low birth weight (LBW) may be associated with antenatal care (ANC) adequacy and quality. The purpose of this study was to analyze ANC adequacy and its relationship with LBW in the Unified Health System in Brazil. Methods: A case-control study was conducted in Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil, 2004 to 2008. Data were collected from secondary sources (the Live Birth Certificate), and primary sources (the official medical records of pregnant women). The study population consisted of two groups, each with 860 newborns. The case group comprised newborns weighing less than 2,500 grams, while the control group comprised live newborns weighing greater than or equal to 2,500 grams. Adequacy of ANC was evaluated according to three measurements: 1. Adequacy of the number of ANC visits adjusted to gestational age; 2. Modified Kessner Index; and 3. Adequacy of ANC laboratory studies and exams summary measure according to parameters defined by the Ministry of Health in the Program for Prenatal and Birth Care Humanization. Results: Analyses revealed that LBW was associated with the number of ANC visits adjusted to gestational age (OR = 1.78, 95% CI 1.32-2.34) and the ANC laboratory studies and exams summary measure (OR = 4.13, 95% CI 1.36-12.51). According to the modified Kessner Index, 64.4% of antenatal visits in the LBW group were adequate, with no differences between groups. Conclusions: Our data corroborate the association between inadequate number of ANC visits, laboratory studies and exams, and increased risk of LBW newborns. No association was found between the modified Kessner Index as a measure of adequacy of ANC and LBW. This finding reveals the low indices of coverage for basic actions already well regulated in the Health System in Brazil. Despite the association found in the study, we cannot conclude that LBW would be prevented only by an adequate ANC, as LBW is associated with factors of complex and multifactorial etiology. The results could be used to plan monitoring measures and evaluate programs of health care assistance during pregnancy, at delivery and to newborns, focusing on reduced LBW rates. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=low%20birth%20weight" title="low birth weight">low birth weight</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=antenatal%20care" title=" antenatal care"> antenatal care</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=prenatal%20care" title=" prenatal care"> prenatal care</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adequacy%20of%20health%20care" title=" adequacy of health care"> adequacy of health care</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=health%20evaluation" title=" health evaluation"> health evaluation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=public%20health%20system" title=" public health system"> public health system</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14956/adequacy-of-antenatal-care-and-its-relationship-with-low-birth-weight-in-botucatu-sao-paulo-brazil-a-case-control-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14956.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">431</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Prevalence of Rituximab Efficacy Over Immunosuppressants in Therapy of Systemic Sclerosis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liudmila%20Garzanova">Liudmila Garzanova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Ananyeva"> Lidia Ananyeva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Koneva"> Olga Koneva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olga%20Ovsyannikova"> Olga Ovsyannikova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oxana%20Desinova"> Oxana Desinova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayya%20Starovoytova"> Mayya Starovoytova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rushana%20Shayahmetova"> Rushana Shayahmetova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anna%20Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva"> Anna Khelkovskaya-Sergeeva</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Abstract Objectives. Rituximab (RTX) shown a positive effect in the treatment of systemic sclerosis (SSc). But there is still not enough data on comparing the effectiveness of RTX with immunosuppressants (IS). The aim of our study was to compare changes of lung function and skin score in SSc between two groups of patients (pts) - on RXT therapy (prescribed after ineffectiveness of previous therapy with IS) and on therapy with IS only. Methods. This study included 103 pts received RTX as an addition to previous therapy (group 1) and 65 pts received therapy with IS and prednisolone (group 2). The mean follow-up period was 12.6±10.7months. In group 1 the mean age was 47±12.9 years, female – 88 pts (84%), the diffuse cutaneous subset of the disease had 55 pts (53%). The mean disease duration was 6.2±5.5 years. 82% pts had interstitial lung disease (ILD) and 92% were positive for ANA, 67% of them were positive for antitopoisomerase-1. All pts received prednisolone at a dose of 11.3±4.5 mg/day, IS at inclusion received 47% of them. The cumulative mean dose of RTX was 1.7±0.6 g. In group 2 the mean age was 50.8±13.8 years, female-53 pts (82%), the diffuse cutaneous subset of the disease had 44 pts (68%). The mean disease duration was 8.8±7.7 years. 81% pts had ILD and 88% were positive for ANA, 58% of them were positive for antitopoisomerase-1. All pts received prednisolone at a dose of 8.69±4.28 mg/day, IS received 57% of them. Cyclophosphamide (CP) received 45% of pts. The cumulative mean dose of CP was 10.2±15.1g. D-penicillamine received 30% of pts. Other pts was on mycophenolate mofetil or methotrexate therapy in single cases. The pts of the compared groups did not differ in the main demographic and clinical parameters. The results are presented as delta (Δ) - difference between the baseline parameter and follow up point. Results. In group 1 there was an improvement of all outcome parameters: increased of forced vital capacity, % predicted - ΔFVC=4% (p=0.0004); Diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide, % predicted remained stable (ΔDLCO=0.1%); improvement of the Rodnan skin score-ΔmRss=3.4 (p=0.001); decrease of Activity index (EScSG-AI) - ΔActivity index=1.7 (p=0.001). In group 2 the changes was insignificant: ΔFVC=-2.3%, ΔmRss=0.87, ΔActivity index=0.3. But there was a significant decrease of DLCO: ΔDLCO=-5.1% (p=0.001). Conclusion. The results of our study confirm the data on the positive effect of RTX in complex therapy in pts with SSc (decrease of skin induration, increase of FVC, stabilization of DLCO). Meantime, pts on IS and prednisolone therapy shown the worsening of lung function and insignificant changes of other clinical parameters. RTX could be considered as a more effective option in complex treatment of SSc in comparison with IS therapy <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=immunosuppressants" title="immunosuppressants">immunosuppressants</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interstitial%20lung%20disease" title=" interstitial lung disease"> interstitial lung disease</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=systemic%20sclerosis" title=" systemic sclerosis"> systemic sclerosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rituximab" title=" rituximab"> rituximab</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162443/prevalence-of-rituximab-efficacy-over-immunosuppressants-in-therapy-of-systemic-sclerosis" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162443.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">83</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> Servant Leadership and Organisational Climate in South African Private Schools: A Qualitative Study</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Christo%20Swart">Christo Swart</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidia%20Pottas"> Lidia Pottas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=David%20Maree"> David Maree</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: It is a sine qua non that the South African educational system finds itself in a profound crisis and that traditional school leadership styles are outdated and hinder quality education. New thinking is mandatory to improve the status quo and school leadership has an immense role to play to improve the current situation. It is believed that the servant leadership paradigm, when practiced by school leadership, may have a significant influence on the school environment in totality. This study investigates the private school segment in search of constructive answers to assist with the educational crises in South Africa. It is assumed that where school leadership can augment a supportive and empowering environment for teachers to constructively engage in their teaching and learning activities - then many challenges facing by school system may be subjugated in a productive manner. Aim: The aim of this study is fourfold. To outline the constructs of servant leadership which are perceived by teachers of private schools as priorities to enhance a successful school environment. To describe the constructs of organizational climate which are observed by teachers of private schools as priorities to enhance a successful school environment. To investigate whether the participants perceived a link between the constructs of servant leadership and organizational climate. To consider the process to be followed to introduce the constructs of SL and OC the school system in general as perceived by participants. Method: This study utilized a qualitative approach to explore the mediation between school leadership and the organizational climate in private schools in the search for amicable answers. The participants were purposefully selected for the study. Focus group interviews were held with participants from primary and secondary schools and a focus group discussion was conducted with principals of both primary and secondary schools. The interview data were transcribed and analyzed and identical patterns of coded data were grouped together under emerging themes. Findings: It was found that the practice of servant leadership by school leadership indeed mediates a constructive and positive school climate. It was found that the constructs of empowerment, accountability, humility and courage – interlinking with one other - are prominent of servant leadership concepts that are perceived by teachers of private schools as priorities for school leadership to enhance a successful school environment. It was confirmed that the groupings of training and development, communication, trust and work environment are perceived by teachers of private schools as prominent features of organizational climate as practiced by school leadership to augment a successful school environment. It can be concluded that the participants perceived several links between the constructs of servant leadership and organizational climate that encourage a constructive school environment and that there is a definite positive consideration and motivation that the two concepts be introduced to the school system in general. It is recommended that school leadership mentors and guides teachers to take ownership of the constructs of servant leadership as well as organizational climate and that public schools be researched and consider to implement the two paradigms. The study suggests that aspirant teachers be exposed to leadership as well as organizational paradigms during their studies at university. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=empowering%20environment%20for%20teachers%20and%20learners" title="empowering environment for teachers and learners">empowering environment for teachers and learners</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20thinking%20required" title=" new thinking required"> new thinking required</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=organizational%20climate" title=" organizational climate"> organizational climate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=school%20leadership" title=" school leadership"> school leadership</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=servant%20leadership" title=" servant leadership"> servant leadership</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/135518/servant-leadership-and-organisational-climate-in-south-african-private-schools-a-qualitative-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/135518.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">223</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Nanocomposite Effect Based on Silver Nanoparticles and Anemposis Californica Extract as Skin Restorer</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Zulema%20Morquecho%20Vega">Maria Zulema Morquecho Vega</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fabiola%20CarolinaMiranda%20Castro"> Fabiola CarolinaMiranda Castro</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rafael%20Verdugo%20Miranda"> Rafael Verdugo Miranda</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ignacio%20Yocupicio%20Villegas"> Ignacio Yocupicio Villegas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ana%20lidia%20Barron%20Raygoza"> Ana lidia Barron Raygoza</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Martin%20enrique%20MArquez%20Cordova"> Martin enrique MArquez Cordova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jose%20Alberto%20Duarte%20Moller"> Jose Alberto Duarte Moller</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Anemopsis californica, also called (tame grass) belongs to the Saururaceae family small, green plant.
