employed to predict the free vibration of a Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a Winkler foundation with elastically restrained ends. The formulation of the dynamic stiffness matrix has been established by solving the differential equation of motion, which was transformed to frequency domain. Non-dimensional natural frequencies and shape modes are obtained by solving the partial differential equations, numerically. Numerical comparisons and examples are performed to show the effectiveness of the SEM and to investigate the effects of various parameters, such as the springs at the boundaries and the elastic foundation parameter on the vibration frequencies. The obtained results demonstrate that the present method can also be applied to solve the more general problem of the dynamic analysis of structures with higher order precision. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=elastically%20supported%20Euler-Bernoulli%20beam" title="elastically supported Euler-Bernoulli beam">elastically supported Euler-Bernoulli beam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=free-vibration" title=" free-vibration"> free-vibration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spectral%20element%20method" title=" spectral element method"> spectral element method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Winkler%20foundation" title=" Winkler foundation"> Winkler foundation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/110401/c-vibration-analysis-of-a-beam-on-elastic-foundation-with-elastically-restrained-ends-using-spectral-element-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/110401.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">132</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2916</span> The Continuously Supported Infinity Rail Subjected to a Moving Complex Bogie System </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vladimir%20Stojanovi%C4%87">Vladimir Stojanović</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marko%20D.%20Petkovi%C4%87"> Marko D. The complex bogie system has been modeled by elastically connected rigid bars on an identical supports. Elastic coupling between bars is introduced to simulate rigidly or flexibly (transversal or/and rotational) connection. Identical supports are modeled as a system of attached spring and dashpot to the bar on one side and interact with the beam through the concentrated mass on the other side. It is assumed that the masses and the beam are always in contact. New analytically determined critical velocity of the system is presented. It is analyzed the case when the complex bogie system exceeds the minimum phase velocity of waves in the beam when the vibration of the system may become unstable. Effect of an elastic coupling between bars on the stability of the system has been analyzed. The instability regions are found for the complex bogie system by applying the principle of the argument and D-decomposition method. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Reddy-Bickford%20beam" title="Reddy-Bickford beam">Reddy-Bickford beam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=D-decomposition%20method" title=" D-decomposition method"> D-decomposition method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=principle%20of%20argument" title=" principle of argument"> principle of argument</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=critical%20velocity" title=" critical velocity"> critical velocity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60948/the-continuously-supported-infinity-rail-subjected-to-a-moving-complex-bogie-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60948.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">306</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2915</span> Analysis of Simply Supported Beams Using Elastic Beam Theory</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20K.%20Dce">M. In this study five beams of span 5m, 6m, 7m and 8m have been considered. The width of all the beams is 400 mm and span to depth ratio has been taken as 12. The superimposed live load has been increased from 10 kN/m to 25 kN/m at the interval of 5 kN/m. The analysis of the beams has been carried out using the elastic beam theory. On the basis of present study it has been concluded that the maximum bending moment as well as deflection occurs at the mid-span of simply supported beam and its magnitude increases in proportion to magnitude of UDL. Moreover, the study suggests that the maximum moment is proportional to square of span and maximum deflection is proportional to fourth power of span. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=beam" title="beam">beam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=UDL" title=" UDL"> UDL</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bending%20moment" title=" bending moment"> bending moment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deflection" title=" deflection"> deflection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=elastic%20beam%20theory" title=" elastic beam theory"> elastic beam theory</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31751/analysis-of-simply-supported-beams-using-elastic-beam-theory" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31751.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">389</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2914</span> Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Forced Vibrations in Micro-Scale Microstretch Thermoelastic Simply Supported Beam</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Geeta%20Partap">Geeta Partap</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nitika%20Chugh"> Nitika Chugh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The present paper deals with the flexural vibrations of homogeneous, isotropic, generalized micropolar microstretch thermoelastic thin Euler-Bernoulli beam resonators, due to Exponential time varying load. Both the axial ends of the beam are assumed to be at simply supported conditions. The governing equations have been solved analytically by using Laplace transforms technique twice with respect to time and space variables respectively. The inversion of Laplace transform in time domain has been performed by using the calculus of residues to obtain deflection. The analytical results have been numerically analyzed with the help of MATLAB software for magnesium like material. The graphical representations and interpretations have been discussed for Deflection of beam under Simply Supported boundary condition and for distinct considered values of time and space as well. The obtained results are easy to implement for engineering analysis and designs of resonators (sensors), modulators, actuators. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microstretch" title="microstretch">microstretch</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deflection" title=" deflection"> deflection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exponential%20load" title=" exponential load"> exponential load</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Laplace%20transforms" title=" Laplace transforms"> Laplace transforms</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=residue%20theorem" title=" residue theorem"> residue theorem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=simply%20supported" title=" simply supported"> simply supported</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/73611/mathematical-modeling-and-analysis-of-forced-vibrations-in-micro-scale-microstretch-thermoelastic-simply-supported-beam" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/73611.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">311</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2913</span> Geometrically Linear Symmetric Free Vibration Analysis of Sandwich Beam </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ibnorachid%20Zakaria">Ibnorachid Zakaria</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=El%20Bikri%20Khalid"> El Bikri Khalid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Benamar%20Rhali"> Benamar Rhali</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Farah%20Abdoun"> Farah Abdoun</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The aim of the present work is to study the linear free symmetric vibration of three-layer sandwich beam using the energy method. To prevent resonance conditions, the designers must predict the natural frequencies of such a constrained beam system. This paper investigates experimental and analytical studies on vibration suppression in a cantilever beam with a tip mass with the help of spring-mass to achieve local resonance conditions. The system consists of a 3D printed polylactic acid (PLA) beam screwed at the base plate of the shaker system. The top of the free end is connected by an accelerometer which also acts as a tip mass. A spring and a mass are attached at the bottom to replicate the mechanism of the spring-mass resonator. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm converts time acceleration plots into frequency amplitude plots from which transmittance is calculated as a function of the excitation frequency. The mathematical formulation is based on the transfer matrix method, and the governing differential equations are based on Euler Bernoulli's beam theory. The experimental results are successfully validated with the analytical results, providing us essential confidence in our proposed methodology. The beam spring-mass system is then converted to an equivalent two-degree of freedom system, from which frequency response function is obtained. The H2 optimization technique is also used to obtain the closed-form expression of optimum spring stiffness, which shows the influence of spring stiffness on the system's natural frequency and vibration response. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=euler%20bernoulli%20beam%20theory" title="euler bernoulli beam theory">euler bernoulli beam theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fast%20fourier%20transform" title=" fast fourier transform"> fast fourier transform</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=natural%20frequencies" title=" natural frequencies"> natural frequencies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=polylactic%20acid" title=" polylactic acid"> polylactic acid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transmittance" title=" transmittance"> transmittance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vibration%20absorbers" title=" vibration absorbers"> vibration absorbers</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/153353/experimental-investigation-of-beams-having-spring-mass-resonators" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/153353.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">105</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2907</span> Effect of Normal Deformation on the Stability of Sandwich Beams Simply Supported Using a Refined Four-Variable Beam Theory</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=R.%20Bennai">R. A Linear Complementary (LCP) based approach has been adopted to simulate the contact dynamics for a rigid wheel traversing over a flexible Euler Bernoulli simply supported beam. The adopted methodology is suitable to incorporate the effect of frictional force acting at the wheel-beam interface. Moreover, the possibility of the generation of a gap between the two bodies has also been considered. The present method is based on a unilateral contact assumption which assumes that no penetration would occur when the two bodies come in contact. This assumption helps to predict the contact between wheels and beams in a more practical sense. The proposed methodology is validated with the previously published results and is found to be in good agreement. Further, this method is applied to simulate the contact between wheels and beams for various railway configurations. Moreover, different parametric studies are conducted to study the contact dynamics between the wheel and beam more thoroughly. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=contact%20dynamics" title="contact dynamics">contact dynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20complementary%20problem" title=" linear complementary problem"> linear complementary problem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=railway%20dynamics" title=" railway dynamics"> railway dynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=unilateral%20contact" title=" unilateral contact"> unilateral contact</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/156705/linear-complementary-based-approach-for-unilateral-frictional-contact-between-wheel-and-beam" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/156705.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">102</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2902</span> Simulations of High-Intensity, Thermionic Electron Guns for Electron Beam Thermal Processing Including Effects of Space Charge Compensation </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=O.%20Hinrichs">O. These techniques need a high-intensity continuous electron beam that defocuses itself due to high space charge forces. A proper beam transport throughout the magnetic focusing system can be ensured by a space charge compensation via residual gas ions. The different pressure stages in the EB gun cause various degrees of compensation. A numerical model was installed to simulate realistic charge distributions within the beam by using CST-Particle Studio code. We will present current status of beam dynamic simulations. This contribution will focus on the creation of space charge ions and their influence on beam and gun components. This approach can practically be used in several types of building construction. In this technique, the main beam of the frame consists of a transfer part (part of beam; Tr.P) and a common reinforcement concrete beam. The transfer part of the beam is connected to the column, whereas the rest of the beam is connected to the transfer part from each side. Four full-scale beam-column connections were tested under static loading. The test parameters were the length of the transfer part and the column properties. The test results show that using of the transfer part technique leads to modify the deformation capabilities for the RC beam and hence it increases its resistance against failure. Increase in length of the transfer part did not necessarily indicate an enhanced behavior. The test results contribute to the characterization of the connection behavior between RC beam - steel column and can be used to calibrate numerical models for the simulation of this type of connection. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=composite%20column" title="composite column">composite column</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reinforced%20concrete%20beam" title=" reinforced concrete beam"> reinforced concrete beam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=steel%20column" title=" steel column"> steel column</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transfer%20part" title=" transfer part"> transfer part</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/27407/investigation-on-an-innovative-way-to-connect-rc-beam-and-steel-column" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/27407.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">431</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2899</span> Behavior of Castellated Beam Column Due to Cyclic Loads</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Junus%20Mara">Junus Mara</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Herman%20Parung"> Herman Parung</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jhony%20Tanijaya"> Jhony Tanijaya</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rudy%20Djamaluddin"> Rudy Djamaluddin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The purpose of this study is to determine the behavior of beam-column sub-assemblages castella due to cyclic loading. We have recently developed robust two-noded connection models for modeling endplate and partial endplate steel connections under fire conditions. The main objective of this research is to systematically investigate the impact of the connections of protected beams, on the tensile membrane actions of supported floor slabs in which the failures of the connections, such as, axial tension, vertical shear and bending are accounted for. The models developed have very good numerical stability under a static solver condition, and can be used for large scale modelling of composite buildings in fire. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fire" title="fire">fire</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=steel%20structure" title=" steel structure"> steel structure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=component-based%20model" title=" component-based model"> component-based model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=beam-to-column%20connections" title=" beam-to-column connections"> beam-to-column connections</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/8258/the-impact-of-steel-connections-on-the-fire-resistance-of-composite-buildings" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/8258.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">450</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2897</span> Flexural Behavior for Prefabricated Angle Truss Composite Beams Using Precast Concrete</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jo%20Kwang-Won">Jo Kwang-Won</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lee%20Ho-Jun"> Lee Ho-Jun</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Choi%20In-Rak"> Choi In-Rak</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Park%20Hong-Gun"> Park Hong-Gun</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Prefabricated angle truss composited beam is a kind of concrete encased composite beam. The theoretical investigation on the evolution of non-Gaussian laser beam through the collisional plasma with ramped density has been presented. The non-uniform irradiance over the cross-section of the laser beam results in redistribution of the carriers that modifies the optical response of the plasma in such a way that the plasma behaves like a converging lens to the laser beam. The formulation is based on finding a semi-analytical solution of the nonlinear Schrodinger wave equation (NLSE) with the help of variational theory. It has been observed that the decentred parameter ‘q’ of laser and wavenumber of ripples of medium contribute to providing the required conditions for the improvement of self-focusing. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-Gaussian%20beam" title="non-Gaussian beam">non-Gaussian beam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=collisional%20plasma" title=" collisional plasma"> collisional plasma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variational%20theory" title=" variational theory"> variational theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=self-focusing" title=" self-focusing"> self-focusing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/124754/self-action-effects-of-a-non-gaussian-laser-beam-through-plasma" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/124754.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">195</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2893</span> Transversal Connection Strengthening of T Section Beam Bridge with Brace System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chen%20Chen">Chen Chen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> T section beam bridge has been widely used in China as it is low cost and easy to erect. The behavior of composite beams (CB) depends upon a law based on relationship between tangential or normal efforts with inelastic propagation. Throughout this study, composite beams are classified like composite beams with partial connection or sandwich beams of three layers. These structural systems are controlled by the same nature of differential equations regarding their behavior in the plane, as well as out-of-plane. Multi-layer elements with partial connection are typically met in the field of timber construction where the elements are assembled by joining. The formalism of the behavior in the plane and out-of-plane of these composite beams is obtained and their results concerning the engineering aspect or simple of interpretation are proposed for the case of composite beams made up of rectangular section and simply supported section. An apparent analytical peculiarity or paradox in the bending behavior of elastic–composite beams with interlayer slip, sandwich beam or other similar problems subjected to boundary moments exists. For a fully composite beam subjected to end moments, the partial composite model will render a non-vanishing uniform value for the normal force in the individual subelement. Obtained results are similar to those for the case of vibrations in the plane as well for the composite beams as for the sandwich beams where eigen-frequencies increase with related rigidity. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=composite%20beam" title="composite beam">composite beam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=behaviour" title=" behaviour"> behaviour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interface" title=" interface"> interface</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deflection" title=" deflection"> deflection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=propagation" title=" propagation"> propagation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44240/crack-propagation-effect-at-the-interface-of-a-composite-beam" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44240.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">303</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2891</span> Beam Methods Applications to the Design of Curved Pulsed Beams</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Timor%20Melamed">Timor Melamed</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this study, we consider two methods for synthesizing a pulsed curved beam along a generic beam-axis trajectory. We derive the aperture field delay to form a caustic of rays along the beam axis and extend this method to other points over the aperture. In the second approach, we harness the proven capabilities of beam methods to address the challenge of designing curved intensity profiles in three-dimensional free space. By leveraging advanced beam propagation techniques, we create and manipulate complex intensity patterns along arbitrarily curved trajectories, offering additional possibilities for precision control in various wave-based applications. The mechanism responsible for the self-focusing of a laser beam in plasma is considered to be the relativistic mass variation of plasma electrons under the effect of a highly intense laser beam. Using the moment theory approach and considering the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximation for the non-linear Schrodinger wave equation, the differential equation is derived, which governs the spot size of the higher-order Gaussian laser beam in plasma. The nonlinearity induced by the laser beam creates the density gradient in the background plasma electrons, which is responsible for the excitation of the electron plasma wave. The large amplitude electron plasma wave interacts with the fundamental beam, which further produces the coherent radiations with double the frequency of the incident beam. The analysis shows the important role of the different modes of higher-order Gaussian laser beam and density ramp on the efficiency of generated harmonics. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=density%20rippled%20plasma" title="density rippled plasma">density rippled plasma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=higher%20order%20Gaussian%20laser%20beam" title=" higher order Gaussian laser beam"> higher order Gaussian laser beam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=moment%20theory%20approach" title=" moment theory approach"> moment theory approach</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=second%20harmonic%20generation." title=" second harmonic generation.
