you shall not walk<MH1980> in their statutes<MH2708>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>You are to perform<MH6213a> My judgments<MH4941> and keep<MH8104> My statutes<MH2708>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>to live<MH1980> in accord with them; I am the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>So you shall keep<MH8104> My statutes<MH2708> and My judgments<MH4941>, which<MH834>, <i>if</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>a person<MH120> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>follows<MH6213a> them, then he will live<MH2421a> by them; I am the LORD<MH3068>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>‘None<MH376, 3808> <i>of you</i> shall approach<MH7126> any<MH3605> blood<MH7607> relative<MH7607, 1320> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>of his to uncover<MH1540> nakedness<MH6172>; I am the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>You shall not uncover<MH1540> the nakedness<MH6172> of your father<MH1>, that is, the nakedness<MH6172> of your mother<MH517>. She is your mother<MH517>; you are not to uncover<MH1540> her nakedness<MH6172>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>You shall not uncover<MH1540> the nakedness<MH6172> of your father’s<MH1> wife<MH802>; it is your father’s<MH1> nakedness<MH6172>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><i>As for</i> the nakedness<MH6172> of your sister<MH269>, <i>either</i> your father’s<MH1> daughter<MH1323> or<MH176> your mother’s<MH517> daughter<MH1323>, <i>whether</i> born<MH4138> in the household<MH1004> or<MH176> born<MH4138> outside<MH2351> <i>the household,</i> you shall not uncover<MH1540> their nakedness<MH6172>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>The nakedness<MH6172> of your son’s<MH1121> daughter<MH1323> or<MH176> your daughter’s<MH1323> daughter<MH1323>, their nakedness<MH6172> you shall not uncover<MH1540>; for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>their nakedness<MH6172> is yours. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>The nakedness<MH6172> of your father’s<MH1> wife’s<MH802> daughter<MH1323>, born<MH4138> to your father<MH1>, she is your sister<MH269>; you shall not uncover<MH1540> her nakedness<MH6172>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>You shall not uncover<MH1540> the nakedness<MH6172> of your father’s<MH1> sister<MH269>; she is your father’s<MH1> blood<MH7607> relative<MH7607>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>You shall not uncover<MH1540> the nakedness<MH6172> of your mother’s<MH517> sister<MH269>, for she is your mother’s<MH517> blood<MH7607> relative<MH7607>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>You shall not uncover<MH1540> the nakedness<MH6172> of your father’s<MH1> brother<MH251>. You shall not approach<MH7126> his wife<MH802>; she is your aunt<MH1733>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>You shall not uncover<MH1540> the nakedness<MH6172> of your daughter-in-law<MH3618>. She is your son’s<MH1121> wife<MH802>; you shall not uncover<MH1540> her nakedness<MH6172>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>You shall not uncover<MH1540> the nakedness<MH6172> of your brother’s<MH251> wife<MH802>; it is your brother’s<MH251> nakedness<MH6172>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>You shall not uncover<MH1540> the nakedness<MH6172> of a woman<MH802> and of her daughter<MH1323>, nor<MH3808> shall you take<MH3947> her son’s<MH1121> daughter<MH1323> or her daughter’s<MH1323> daughter<MH1323>, to uncover<MH1540> her nakedness<MH6172>; they are blood<MH7607> relatives<MH7607>. It is an outrageous<MH2154> sin<MH2154>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>And you shall not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>marry<MH3947> a woman<MH802> in<MH413> addition<MH413> to<MH413> her sister<MH269> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>as a second<MH6887d> wife<MH6887d> while she is alive<MH2425b>, to uncover<MH1540> her nakedness<MH6172>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>‘Also you shall not approach<MH7126> a woman<MH802> to uncover<MH1540> her nakedness<MH6172> during her menstrual<MH5079> impurity<MH2932a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>And you shall not have<MH5414> sexual<MH2233> intercourse<MH7903> with your neighbor’s<MH5997> wife<MH802>, to be defiled<MH2930> with her. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>You shall not give<MH5414> any<MH4480> of your children<MH2233> to <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>offer<MH5674a> them to Molech<MH4432>, nor<MH3808> shall you profane<MH2455> the name<MH8034> of your God<MH430>; I am the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>You shall not sleep<MH7901> with a male<MH2145> as <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>one sleeps<MH7901> with a female<MH802>; it is an abomination<MH8441>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>Also you shall not have<MH5414, 7903> sexual<MH5414, 7903> intercourse<MH5414, 7903> with any<MH3605> animal<MH929> to be defiled<MH2930> with it, nor<MH3808> shall any<MH802> woman<MH802> stand<MH5975> before<MH6440> an animal<MH929> to <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>mate<MH7250> with it; it is a perversion<MH8397>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>‘Do not defile<MH2930> yourselves by any<MH3605> of these<MH428> things<MH428>; for by all<MH3605> these<MH428> things<MH428> the nations<MH1471> which<MH834> I am driving<MH7971> out<MH7971> from you have become<MH2930> defiled<MH2930>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>For the land<MH776> has become<MH2930> defiled<MH2930>, therefore I have brought<MH6485> its punishment<MH5771> upon it, so the land<MH776> has vomited<MH7006a> out<MH7006a> its inhabitants<MH3427>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>But as for you, you are to keep<MH8104> My statutes<MH2708> and My judgments<MH4941>, and you shall not do<MH6213a> any<MH4480, 3605> of these<MH428> abominations<MH8441>, <i>neither</i> the native<MH249>, nor the stranger<MH1616> who resides<MH1481a> among<MH8432> you <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>(for the people<MH376> of the land<MH776> who<MH834> were <i>there</i> before<MH6440> you did<MH6213a> all<MH3605> these<MH411> abominations<MH8441>, and the land<MH776> has become<MH2930> defiled<MH2930>), <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>so that the land<MH776> will not vomit<MH7006a> you out<MH7006a> should you defile<MH2930> it, as it has vomited<MH7006a> out<MH7006a> the nation<MH1471> which<MH834> was <i>there</i> before<MH6440> you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>For whoever<MH3605, 834> does<MH6213a> any<MH4480, 3605> of these<MH428> abominations<MH8441>, those persons<MH5315> who do<MH6213a> <i>so</i> shall be cut<MH3772> off<MH3772> from among<MH7130> their people<MH5971b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/18-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>So you are to keep<MH8104> your <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>commitment<MH4931> to Me not to practice<MH6213a> any<MH4480> of the abominable<MH8441> customs<MH2708> which<MH834> have been practiced<MH6213a> before<MH6440> you, so that you do not defile<MH2930> yourselves with them;
