href="https://ec.europa.eu/info/about-european-commission/contact/press-services_en" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>joint EU-institutional media accreditation</strong></a><strong>, need to apply for European Parliament media accreditation (and a recording permit when applicable) in order to work in the European Parliament.</strong></p> <p class="ep-wysiwig_paragraph">There are essentially two types of accreditation available in the European Parliament:</p> <ol> <li>Short-term media accreditation</li> <li>Annual media accreditation</li> </ol> <p class="ep-wysiwig_paragraph">All journalists granted access to Parliament's buildings can use the <a href="https://www.europarl.europa.eu/website/multimedia-centre/en/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">facilities</a> provided for journalists. Before applying, please read the <a href="https://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/files/press-room/accreditation/en-accreditation-rules.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">media accreditation rules</a>.</p> <p class="ep-wysiwig_paragraph"></p> <p class="ep-wysiwig_paragraph"><strong>1. Short-term media accreditation</strong></p> <p class="ep-wysiwig_paragraph">Short-term accreditation runs from one day to within a maximum of five business days.</p> <p class="ep-wysiwig_paragraph">If you are a journalist coming to Brussels, Strasbourg or Luxembourg for a specific meeting, event or plenary session, you can obtain short-term accreditation. You can apply for accreditation through the following <a href="https://jouregfo.secure.europarl.europa.eu" target="_blank" rel="noopener">registration website (Joureg)</a> . You will need to register by creating your free online personal account. A verification link will be sent from noreply@europarl.europa.eu. to the email provided during registration. Once an account has been validated, you may proceed with your accreditation request by logging onto the <a href="https://jouregfo.secure.europarl.europa.eu" target="_blank" rel="noopener">registration website (Joureg)</a>.</p> <p class="ep-wysiwig_paragraph">Information needed to apply for short-term media accreditation:</p> <ul> <li>Copy of a valid press card or a recent <a href="https://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/files/press-room/accreditation/en-media-accreditation-assignement-letter.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">assignment letter issued by the editor-in-chief, publisher or head of office</a> with clear evidence that you are on assignment from a specific news organisation or publication and justifying the request for accreditation. The assignment letter needs to be on official letterhead and should specify name, function of the journalist and the period for which accreditation is sought at the European Parliament.
