As we work through these tough circumstances together, we remain committed to serving our customers and continuing to support businesses while observing all recommended safety precautions. The following information serves to provide some insight as we continue through this COVID-19 period. Each building environment and elevator/escalator system is unique; however, the following information provides a good reference as we continue working together during this time.</p> <p><span class="icon special_link">Vertical Transportation Cleaning Recommendations: Please review <a href="https://www.mitsubishielevator.com/images/uploads/documents/pdf/EED_CleaningInstructionSheet0620.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">these guidelines</a> for recommendation and instruction.</span></p> <p>For additional resources, please visit the <a class="inline-ext-link" href="https://www.boma.org/coronavirus/?=" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s Coronavirus Resource Center</a> and the <a class="inline-ext-link" href="https://nationalelevatorindustry.org/coronavirus-covid-19-resources/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Elevator Industry, Inc.</a> (NEII).</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <h2>Recommendations for Resuming Building Occupancy</h2> <p>Although building occupancy may continue to remain at lower levels than normal, it is imperative that maintenance services continue as scheduled. It is important to follow monthly maintenance plans to ensure equipment remains in optimal operating condition. Especially as buildings start to increase occupancy again, with social distancing and a limited numbers of passengers allowed in elevators accordingly, the units will be working much harder — taking many more trips than in the past to move the same number of people.</p> <p>While the quantity, size and speed of the elevators in your building were most likely suitable to handle the traffic based on original design and population of the building under normal circumstances, the need for social distancing as required by the <a class="inline-ext-link" href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Center for Disease Control and Prevention</a> (CDC) and other authorities has placed a severe limit on the number of passengers that should ride the elevator at the same time. That generally means that the elevator will take several trips to support the traffic that had been previously handled by a single trip. So, where an elevator used to be loaded with 10-12 passengers, there may now only be 1-3 in a car at a time.</p> <p>Prepare your tenants/occupants and forewarn them that elevator waiting times will be significantly longer — multiple times, in fact, than in the past — due to loading limitations dictated by social distancing. Accordingly, if for no other reason than very long waiting times, buildings should severely limit the number of occupants and building density until such time that social distancing is no longer required.</p> <p>For additional resources, please visit the <a class="inline-ext-link" href="https://www.boma.org/coronavirus/?=" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s Coronavirus Resource Center</a>.</p> <div class="spotlight"> <figure><img src="//www.mitsubishielevator.com/uploads/images/about-us/helpful_tips.png" alt="Helpful Tips:" /></figure><ul><li>If your elevators or escalators have been shut down, contact your service provider to make sure the equipment is in good operating condition.</li> <li>Ensure that the emergency communication is properly working. Test multiple elevators in a building at the same time to ensure no issue with multiple calls going through at the same time.</li> <li>Request a thorough clean down of the elevator/escalator equipment prior to resuming building occupancy.</li> <li>Consider sanitation stations at all elevator lobbies and possibly inside the elevator as well.</li> <li>Consider hand sanitation at the top landing of up escalators and the bottom landing of down escalators for passengers to use after traveling on escalator.</li> <li>Make sure that sanitizing stations are at a safe distance from escalator units (i.e. minimum of 30 feet) to ensure safety of passengers entering/exiting the escalator equipment.</li> <li>Mark elevator lobbies and flooring with instructions to tenants to observe proper social distancing.</li> <li>Consult your <a href="https://www.mitsubishielevator.com/contact-us">Mitsubishi Electric sales representatives</a> for other products that may assist with the safety and protection of your riding passengers. </li> </ul></div> <p> </p> <p> </p> <h2>Information on Elevator Cab Air Circulation</h2> <p>In an era of heightened concern for health and safety during the ongoing pandemic, many elevator passengers will be concerned about things that were previously second nature — like the air circulation inside of an elevator. The following information will help with understanding of the airflow in elevators and should assist in passenger comfort.</p> <p>All Mitsubishi Electric elevator cabs and elevators are equipped with fans, which provide a negative pressurization system to quickly and quietly change the air in an elevator. The entire volume of air will be completely replenished in about 90 seconds, on average, for most commercial passenger elevators with operational fans and closer to 30 seconds in moving elevators with larger model operational fans. </p> <p> </p> <h2>Introducing our PureRide® Vertical Transportation Solutions</h2> <h3>PureRide® Touchless Control</h3> <p>This <a href="https://www.mitsubishielevator.com/products/solutions-services/pureride">simple, no-touch product</a> allows users to call an elevator and designate a destination floor by placing a hand or finger over a sensor without the need to touch at all.</p> <h3>Elevator Call System via Smartphone</h3> <p>Our <a href="https://www.mitsubishielevator.com/images/uploads/documents/pdf/elevators/smart_leaflet_USA.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">exclusive smartphone application</a> is designed to offer even more convenient access to elevators equipped with the DOAS Integrated with Security System. This intuitive and user-friendly app increases mobility and helps add value to the building. With the ID Card Call function, passengers can request an elevator from the lobby to their destination floor before entering building security. After authenticating at security via ID card, passengers confirm their assigned elevator once inside the building. With the Smartphone Call function, passengers already in the building can select their departure and destination floors when requesting an elevator. With both functions, the smartphone displays the elevator assigned to the passenger, shows its current status, and uses push notifications to alert the passenger as the elevator car approaches. Passengers can also easily request a wheelchair accessible elevator, when needed.</p> <p> </p> <h2><a name="resources"></a>Passenger Resources</h2> <figure style="float:right;width:300px;max-width:300px;margin-left:10px;margin-right:10px;"><img src="//www.mitsubishielevator.com/uploads/images/about-us/coronavirus_girl.jpg" alt="" /></figure> <p>For helpful information for the general riding public, please refer to the following resource links:</p> <p><span class="icon special_link"><a class="inline-ext-link" href="https://nationalelevatorindustry.org/coronavirus-covid-19-resources/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Elevator Industry, Inc.</a> (NEII)</span></p> <p><span class="icon special_link"><a class="inline-ext-link" href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Center for Disease Control and Prevention</a> (CDC) for up to date information regarding managing and preventing the spread of COVID-19</span></p> </section> </article> </section> </div> <!--{!- Sitemap -}--> <section id="footerSitemap"> <div id="footerSitemapHeader"> <div id="sitemapHeaderCol1"> <a class="toggle-btn" role="button" data-toggle="collapse" href="#collapseSitemap" aria-expanded="false" aria-controls="collapseSitemap"> <span class="sr-only">Toggle Sitemap</span> <h2><i id="sitemapToggle" class="fa fa-caret-right"></i> Site Map</h2> </a> </div> </div> <div class="collapse" id="collapseSitemap"> <ul class="list-group"> <li class="level_1 has_children first"><a href="/about-us">About Us</a> <ul> <li class="level_2"><a href="/about-us/why-mitsubishi-electric-elevators">Why Mitsubishi Electric Elevators?</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/about-us/our-people-our-community">Our People, Our Community</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/about-us/awards-innovation">Mitsubishi Electric Innovations</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="level_1 has_children"><a>Products</a> <ul> <li class="level_2 first"><a href="/products/elevators">Elevators</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/products/escalators">Escalators</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/products/modernization">Modernization</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/products/maintenance">Maintenance</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="level_1 has_children"><a href="/projects">Projects</a> <ul> <li class="level_2 first"><a href="/projects/the-charter-hotel">The Charter Hotel</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/projects/pechanga-resort-and-casino">Pechanga Resort and Casino</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/projects/the-nomad-hotel">The NoMad Hotel</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/projects/troy-block">Troy Block</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/projects/the-hamilton">The Hamilton</a></li> <li class="level_2 last"><a href="/projects/courtyard-anaheim">Courtyard Anaheim</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="level_1 has_children"><a href="/news-resources">News & Resources</a> <ul> <li class="level_2 first"><a href="/news-resources/case-studies">Case Studies</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/news-resources/cab-design-tool">Cab Designer® Tool</a></li> <li class="level_2"><a href="/news-resources/coronavirus">COVID-19</a></li> <li class="level_2 last"><a href="/news-resources/aia-course">AIA Courses</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="level_1"><a href="/careers">Careers</a></li> <li class="level_1"><a href="/contact-us">Contact Us</a></li> <li class="level_1 last"> <span class="icon extLink last"></span> <a class="float-none" href="http://us.mitsubishielectric.com/en/" target="_blank">USA Portal</a> </li> </ul> </div> </section> <!-- NOTE: From here: must reflect on unique page --> <footer class="gs18-Footer" role="contentinfo" data-js-gs18-footer> <!-- /.gs18-Footer --></footer> <!-- NOTE: To here: must reflect on unique page --> <!-- NOTE: From here: must reflect on unique page --> <!-- scripts : init --> <script src="/feature/contents/assets_gws_template_responsive/js/init.js" nonce="9e301a9600eb981e657cfbaa6eaa2642a6781730ba79"></script> <!-- /scripts : init --> <!-- NOTE: To here: must reflect on unique page --> <script src="/assets/js/main-min.js?id=902305b0dd512ed037e46089db98936e" nonce="9b7c3f8ceedd71e450d11e7401ec0fe14c4bfabe8377"></script> </body> </html>
