colleagues, </p> <br> <p> It is a pleasure and an honor to invite you to attend the MedGU-24, which will be held in-person and online on 25 – 28 November 2024 in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Researchers from all fields of the geosciences from all over the world are invited to present and discuss their newest original work. </p> <p> After the remarkable successes of the <a href="https://cajg.org/2018" target="_blank">1<sup>st</sup> CAJG</a>, <a href="https://cajg.org/2019" target="_blank">2<sup>nd</sup> CAJG</a> and <a href="https://cajg.org/2020" target="_blank">3<sup>rd</sup> CAJG</a>, it became obvious that there was a need to create a larger and more comprehensive international geoscience conference, one that would bring together even more participants from all over the world and cover a wide range of topics from all the disciplines of the Earth and planetary sciences. </p> <p> With this objective in mind and as a continuation of the overwhelming success of <a href="https://medgu.org/2021/index.php" target="_blank">MedGU-21</a> (Istanbul, Türkiye), <a href="https://medgu.org/2022" target="_blank">MedGU-22</a> (Marrakech, Morocco), and <a href="https://medgu.org/2023" target="_blank">MedGU-23</a> (Istanbul, Türkiye) which have attracted a great deal of interest with over 4000 abstract submissions from 95 countries, the MedGU-24 will continue to be organized to provide a forum where scientists from the Mediterranean region and all over the world, especially researchers at the early stages of their careers, can be informed about the latest geosciences studies and discuss their latest unpublished findings with experts from the wide-ranging fields of Earth and planetary sciences. </p> <p> During this MedGU-24, a number of prominent speakers will be invited to give keynotes. Moreover, we are planning <a href="index.php?p=workshops">workshops</a>, a <a href="index.php?p=social-program">social program</a>, and a <a href="index.php?p=field-trips">field trip</a>, where participants can take a little time out to explore the wonders of the geological sites of the Spanish and French Pyrenees. </p> <p> As with the previous <a href="https://2021.medgu.org" target="_blank">MedGU-21</a>, <a href="https://2022.medgu.org" target="_blank">MedGU-22</a>, and <a href="https://2023.medgu.org" target="_blank">MedGU-23</a> the latest research findings at MedGU-24 will be published in the conference proceedings by Springer in the IEREK <a href="https://www.springer.com/series/15883" target="_blank">ASTI Book Series</a> (indexed in <a href="https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21101032300" target="_blank">Scopus</a>/<a href="https://www.scimagojr.com/journalsearch.php?q=21101032300&tip=sid&clean=0" target="_blank">SCImago</a>) and in some <a href="index.php?p=special-issue">Special Issues</a>, with a clear mission to encourage greater scientific cooperation and to open doors to new and enriching collaborations between geoscientists on the opposite shores of the Mediterranean and from all over the world. </p> <p> MedGU-24 is looking forward to cordially welcoming you in <a href="https://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/en/" target="_blank">Barcelona</a> at the center of Catalonia, Spain...
