"You need to build a team, work with your team." </p><p>Dion then launched in on Prime Minister Stephen Harper.</p><p>"It's not a one-man show as Mr. Harper seems to think. It was obvious that I had the better team than him but since yesterday night, it's clearer than ever."</p><p>Still Dion was circumspect about the prospect of a spring election.</p><p>"We are always ready for an election but we'll choose our time, and our priority is that this government will be held accountable."</p><p>Dion seemed particularly pleased about the win in Vancouver-Quadra, where former provincial environment minister and one time tree planter Joyce Murray took the vote - beating her Conservative rival by 151 votes.</p><p>Conceding that "the main point in Quadra has been the green vote," the environment-touting leader demurred, "I think we have a very lively and healthy relationship of co-operation and competition between Madame May and me," he said referring to Green Leader Elizabeth May.</p><p>The Greens meanwhile, declared themselves the real winner's in Monday's byelections.</p><p>The party had two third-place finishes in the Toronto ridings, ahead of the NDP in Hall Findlay's Willowdale riding and the Conservatives in Rae's seat of Toronto Centre, where it claimed about 13.5 per cent of the vote as it did in Vancouver Quadra.</p><p>The Greens are still looking to win their first federal seat in the House of Commons and even though they came close to placing second in Toronto Centre - only 36 votes behind the NDP - they were nowhere near overtaking the Liberals' Rae who won with about 60 per cent of the vote.</p><p>May was ecstatic Tuesday about the results.</p><p>"We've made the case that we belong and these results, along with my second place finish in 2006 in the London North Centre byelection, establish the fact that we are a serious political party. We are continually showing up in the polls and the networks should rethink our exclusion from the televised leaders' debates," said May.</p><p>The Liberals only loss Monday was in the northern Saskatchewan riding of Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River, where Joan Beatty, hand-picked by Dion from the provincial NDP ranks, lost out to Conservative Rob Clarke, an RCMP officer.</p><p>"It's too bad that Joan Beatty cannot join us in the House of Commons," Dion said, citing low voter turnout in the region.</p><p>"It was difficult in this huge riding to reach all the communities where we have a strong traditional vote. In the general election it will be easier for us to do so," he said. "I think it hurt us in the north of Saskatchewan because the aboriginal turnout is traditionally lower, something we need to correct. But for that we need to engage this community in the core of the Canadian political system."</p><p>Just one in three of approximately 85,000 eligible voters cast ballots in the Monday byelection,
