nasty gash on her forehead. Aldana met Norma Dumont in a women's bantamweight fight in the final preliminary bout of <a data-link-tracking="InArticle|Link" href="/sport/ufc" target="_blank">UFC</a> 306 at the Las Vegas Sphere on Saturday night when the incident occurred midway through the contest.</p><p>The cut got worse throughout the rest of the fight and the Mexican miraculously managed to make it to the final bell. “So a nasty gash, slot machine-esque, on the forehead of Irene Aldana,” Jon Anik said on commentary. “It was a clash of heads, the cut man did what he could, but Aldana is leaking.”</p><div id="ad-vip-article"><div id="div-gpt-ad-vip"></div></div><div id="mantis-recommender-top-placeholder"></div><p>However, Aldana wasn't able to walk away with the victory, falling to a convincing 30-27, 30-27, and 30-27 defeat in Dumont's favour.
