href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nezha%20El%20Bari"> Nezha El Bari </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Parabens are the antimicrobial molecules largely used in cosmetic products as a preservative agent. Among them, the methylparaben (MP) is the most frequently used ingredient in cosmetic preparations. Nevertheless, their potential dangers led to the development of sensible and reliable methods for their determination in environmental samples. Firstly, a sensitive and selective molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) based on screen-printed gold electrode (Au-SPE), assembled on a polymeric layer of carboxylated poly(vinyl-chloride) (PVC-COOH), was developed. After the template removal, the obtained material was able to rebind MP and discriminate it among other interfering species such as glucose, sucrose, and citric acid. The behavior of molecular imprinted sensor was characterized by Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV) and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. Then, the biosensor was found to have a linear detection range from 0.1 pg.mL<sup>-1</sup> to 1 ng.mL<sup>-1</sup> and a low limit of detection of 0.12 fg.mL<sup>-1</sup> and 5.18 pg.mL<sup>-1</sup> by DPV and EIS, respectively. For applications, this biosensor was employed to determine MP content in four wastewaters in Meknes city and two cosmetic products (shower gel and shampoo). The operational reproducibility and stability of this biosensor were also studied. Secondly, another MIP biosensor based on tungsten trioxide (WO<sub>3</sub>) functionalized by gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) assembled on a polymeric layer of PVC-COOH was developed. The main goal was to increase the sensitivity of the biosensor. Each household or business data collection project includes a dissemination platform for its implementation. Thus, these dissemination methods previously used, do not promote rapid access to information and especially does not offer the option of being able to link data for in-depth processing. In this paper, we present an approach to modeling these data to publish them in a format intended for the Semantic Web. Our objective is to be able to publish all this data in a single platform and offer the option to link with other external data sources. This paper measures, using the Naatal Mbay survey, the impact of this reform on agricultural productivity. The survey covers a sample of 3,122 rice, millet and maize farms for the 2016 crop year. The regressions show that tax incentives are ineffective in improving partial productivity of the land factor: the higher the share of the value of exemptions in the higher the production costs, the less productive the operation. The negative effect of the exemptions on productivity is accentuated for the most intensive agricultural area: the Senegal River Delta, and the most intensive crop: irrigated rice. This relationship could stem from a decrease in allocative efficiency: farmers have overinvested in the most accessible inputs. The loose budget constraint syndrome, therefore, explains this result: farmers who benefit more from exemptions reduce their managerial effort. This paper is focused on passenger cars as this category is the most significant in road transport. The utility of this research lies in this being the first step or basis to improve and optimise actual policies. The methodology applied in this paper refers to a comparative analysis from a practical and theoretical point of view of European environmental policies in road transport. This work describes an overview of the road transport industry in Europe pointing out some relevant aspects such as the contribution of road transport to total emissions and the vehicle fleet in Europe. Diouf </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This case-control study dealt with the health adverse effects within the population neighboring the Mbeubeuss waste dump, which is located near the district of Malika (Diamalaye II) in Dakar (Senegal). All the household and industrial waste arising from Dakar are stored in this open landfill without being covered and are therefore possible sources of Pb and Cd contaminated air emissions and lixiviates. The objective of this study is part of improving the health of the population neighboring Mbeubeuss by determining Pb and Cd concentrations both in environment and humans, and studying possible renal function alterations within the adults. Soil and air samples were collected in the control site (Darou Salam) and the waste dump neighboring site (Diamalaye II). Control and exposed adults were recruited as living in Darou Salam (n = 52) and in Diamalaye II (n = 77). Pb and Cd concentrations in soil, air and biological samples were determined. Moreover, we were interested in analyzing some impregnation (zinc protoporphyrin, d-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase) and oxidative stress biomarkers (malonedialdehyde, gluthatione status), in addition to several nephrotoxicity parameters (creatinuria, proteinuria, lactate dehydrogenase, CC16 protein, glutathione S-transferase-alpha and retinol binding protein) in blood and/or urine. The results showed the signi铿乧ant Pb and Cd contamination of the soil and air samples derived from the landfill, and therefore of the neighboring population of adults. Different attempts to manage the disease using breeding techniques or chemical pesticides did not yield promising results, leading farmers to burn infected trees to limit the pathogen propagation. As an alternative, biocontrol agents constitute an eco-friendly solution and a promising approach to this problem. In this frame, we isolated different bacteria from date palm roots that were screened for their potential to inhibit the pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. albedinis (Foa). Out of forty tested isolates, one isolate showed particularly promising results against Foa and exhibited as well broad-spectrum antifungal properties against other phytopathogenic fungi namely Fusarium solani, F. oxysporym f.sp. lycopersici, F. proliferatum, Phytophtora infestans, and Botrytis cinerea. Moreover, this isolate was tested for plant growth-promoting (PGP) traits and the result showed that it could solubilize inorganic phosphate, produce siderophores, IAA, ACC deaminase and fix nitrogen. We also conducted greenhouse assay to evaluate the protective effect of our isolate. The result showed that our isolate effectively protected date palm seedlings against Foa. To extend our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the antifungal and PGP features, we sequenced and characterized the genome. The genomic characterization showed that our isolate has a genome size of approximately 3.9 MB and belongs to Bacillus halotolerans. The Average nucleotide identity showed that our isolate was a new strain which we named B. halotolerans KFD. We annotated 11 secondary metabolites gene clusters encompassing six known antifungal clusters namely bacillibactin, bacilysin, bacillaene, fengycin, surfactin, and plipastatin. Moreover, we identified genes that encode carbohydrate-active enzymes among which GH18 and GH23 directly involved in chitinase activities and the GH30, GH5 and GH26 subfamilies implicated in the degradation of glucan in fungal cell walls. The prediction of secreted proteins reported the secretion of antifungal products such as plipastatine and bacillolysin, and enzyme implicated in fungal cell wall degradation such as N-Acetylglucosaminidase and 尾-glucanase. The comparative genomic analysis showed that B. halotolerans KFD contained 146 unique genes, among which was a gene encoding plipastatin, a cyclic lipopeptide known to have antifungal properties against plant pathogens. The screening of genes linked to plant growth promotion identified genes involved in phosphate metabolism (pstA, pstB, pstC, pstS, ykaB, ykaA, cysP, yjkB, yqgI, yqgH, phoP, and phoR), IAA production (trpA, trpB, trpC, trpD, trpE, trpF, and trpP), and in nitrogen fixation (yutI). Moreover, we predicted 12 genes implicated in siderophore production and iron transport ybdZ, dhbE, yvrB, fhuG, fhuB, yfmE, yfmD, yfiZ, yfhA, yclN, yclO, and feuC. Our results show that Bacillus halotolerans KFD represents a potential biocontrol agent that could be used to manage bayoud disease and promote the growth of date palm. To the best of our knowledge, our study is the first to isolate and describe the genomic features of a B. halotolerans strain from the rhizosphere of date palm. <p
