The data transferred over such a network is also highly QoS-exigent mostly because a huge volume of data should be transported transparently with regard to the application user. To avoid the data transfer failure, a backup path should be reserved. No re-routing delay should be observed. A dedicated 1+1 protection is however not applicable in inter-datacenter transport network because of the huge spare capacity. In this context, we propose a survivable virtual network with minimal backup based on network coding (1 ⊕ 1) and solve it using a modified Dijkstra-based heuristic. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=network%20coding" title="network coding">network coding</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dedicated%20protection" title=" dedicated protection"> dedicated protection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spare%20capacity" title=" spare capacity"> spare capacity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inter-datacenters%20transport%20network" title=" inter-datacenters transport network"> inter-datacenters transport network</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44625/survivable-ip-over-wdm-network-design-based-on-1-1-network-coding" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44625.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">447</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">13</span> Production of Ultra-Low Temperature by the Vapor Compression Refrigeration Cycles with Environment Friendly Working Fluids</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sameh%20Frikha">Sameh Frikha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Salah%20Abid"> Mohamed Salah Abid</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We investigate the performance of an integrated cascade (IC) refrigeration system which uses environment friendly zeotropic mixtures. Although Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have revolutionized the treatment of CML, resistanceoccurs and possibly médiates by mutation in severalgenesindependently of the bcr-abl1 kinase mechanism. it has been reportedthat JAK2V617F/BCR-ABL double positivitymaybe a potential marker of resistance in CML. Aims: This studywasinvestigated the JAK2V617F mutation in TKI-resistant CML patients. Methods: A retrospectivestudywasconducted in the Hospital University of Sfax, south of Tunisia, including all CML TKI-resistant patients. A Sanger sequencingwasperformedusing a high-fidelity DNA polymerase. Results:Nineresistant CP-CML patients wereenrolled in thisstudy. The JAK2V617F mutation wasdetectedin 3 patients with TKI resistance. Conclusion:Despite the limit of ourstudy, ourfinding highlights the high frequency of JAK2V617F/BCR-ABL double positivity as an important marker of resistance. So; the combination of JAK and TKI inhibitorsmightbe effective and potentiallybeguided by molecular monitoring of minimal residual disease1. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chronic%20myeloid%20leukemia" title="chronic myeloid leukemia">chronic myeloid leukemia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tyrosine%20kinase%20inhibitors" title=" tyrosine kinase inhibitors"> tyrosine kinase inhibitors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=resistance" title=" resistance"> resistance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=JAK2V617F" title=" JAK2V617F"> JAK2V617F</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCR-ABL" title=" BCR-ABL"> BCR-ABL</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/174877/mutational-analysis-of-jak2v617f-in-tunisian-cml-patients-with-tki-resistance" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/174877.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">67</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">11</span> Klippel Feil Syndrome: A Case Report and Review of Literature</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rim%20Frikha">Rim Frikha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nouha%20Bouayed%20Abdelmoula"> Nouha Bouayed Abdelmoula</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Afifa%20Sellami"> Afifa Sellami</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Salima%20Daoud"> Salima Daoud</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tarek%20Rebai"> Tarek Rebai</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Klippel-Feil Syndrome (KFS) is characterized by congenital vertebral fusion of the cervical spine resulting from faulty segmentation along the embryo's developing axis. A wide spectrum of associated anomalies may be present. This heterogeneity has complicated elucidation of the genetic etiology and management of the syndrome. We report a case of an isolated Klippel-Feil Syndrome with C5-C6 fusion on the cervical spine. It‘s the rarest form of congenital fused cervical vertebrae which is predisposed to the risk of spinal cord injury and neurologic problems. The aim of this paper was to review clinical heterogeneity; radiographic abnormalities and genetic etiology in Klippel-Feil Syndrome. This study was conducted to determine the frequency and contribution of X-chromosome aneuploidy in recurrent pregnancy loss. A retrospective study was carried out among 100 couples with more than 2 miscarriages, referred to our genetic counseling. In all the cases the detailed reproductive histories were taken. Chromosomal analysis was performed using RHG banding in peripheral blood. Of a total of 100 couples; 3 patients with a detected X-chromosome aneuploidy were identified with an overall frequency of 3%. Chromosome abnormalities are as below: a Turner syndrome with 45, X/46, XX mosaicism, a 47, XXX, and a Klinefelter syndrome with 46, XY/47, XXY. These data show a high incidence of X-chromosome aneuploidy; mainly with mosaicism; in RPL. Thus, couples with such chromosomal abnormality should be referred to a clinical geneticist with whom the option of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis in subsequent pregnancy should be discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aneuploidy" title="aneuploidy">aneuploidy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genetic%20testing" title=" genetic testing"> genetic testing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recurrent%20pregnancy%20loss" title="recurrent pregnancy loss">recurrent pregnancy loss</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=X-chromosome" title=" X-chromosome"> X-chromosome</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/45376/the-prevalence-of-x-chromosome-aneuploidy-in-recurrent-pregnancy-loss" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/45376.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">360</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9</span> Shear Reinforcement of Stone Columns During Soil Liquefaction</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zeineb%20Ben%20Salem">Zeineb Ben Salem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wissem%20Frikha"> Wissem Frikha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mounir%20Bouassida"> Mounir Bouassida</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The aim of this paper is to assess the effectiveness of stone columns as a liquefaction countermeasure focusing on shear reinforcementbenefit. In fact, stone columns which have high shear modulus relative to the surrounding soils potentially can carry higher shear stress levels. Thus, stone columns provide shear reinforcement and decrease the Cyclic Shear Stress Ratio CSR to which the treated soils would be subjected during an earthquake. In order to quantify the level of shear stress reduction in reinforced soil, several approaches have been developed. Nevertheless, the available approaches do not take into account the improvement of the soil parameters, mainly the shear modulusdue to stone columns installation. Indeed, in situ control tests carried out before and after the installation of stone columns based upon the results of collected data derived from 24 case histories have given evidence of the improvement of the existing soil properties. In this paper, the assessment of shear reinforcement of stone columns that accounts such improvement of the soil parameters due to stone column installation is investigated. Comparative results indicate that considering the improvement effects considerably affect the assessment of shear reinforcement for liquefaction analysis of reinforced soil by stone columns. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stone%20column" title="stone column">stone column</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=liquefaction" title=" liquefaction"> liquefaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=shear%20reinforcement" title=" shear reinforcement"> shear reinforcement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CSR" title=" CSR"> CSR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=soil%20improvement" title=" soil improvement"> soil improvement</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146200/shear-reinforcement-of-stone-columns-during-soil-liquefaction" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146200.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">153</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8</span> A PROMETHEE-BELIEF Approach for Multi-Criteria Decision Making Problems with Incomplete Information</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H.%20Moalla">H. These methods are used to deal with perfect information. However, in practice, it is obvious that this information requirement is too much strict. In fact, the imperfect data provided by more or less reliable decision makers usually affect decision results since any decision is closely linked to the quality and availability of information. In this paper, a PROMETHEE-BELIEF approach is proposed to help multi-criteria decisions based on incomplete information. This approach solves problems with incomplete decision matrix and unknown weights within PROMETHEE method. On the base of belief function theory, our approach first determines the distributions of belief masses based on PROMETHEE’s net flows and then calculates weights. Subsequently, it aggregates the distribution masses associated to each criterion using Murphy’s modified combination rule in order to infer a global belief structure. The final action ranking is obtained via pignistic probability transformation. A case study of real-world application concerning the location of a waste treatment center from healthcare activities with infectious risk in the center of Tunisia is studied to illustrate the detailed process of the BELIEF-PROMETHEE approach. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=belief%20function%20theory" title="belief function theory">belief function theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=incomplete%20information" title=" incomplete information"> incomplete information</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multiple%20criteria%20analysis" title=" multiple criteria analysis"> multiple criteria analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PROMETHEE%20method" title=" PROMETHEE method"> PROMETHEE method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/96791/a-promethee-belief-approach-for-multi-criteria-decision-making-problems-with-incomplete-information" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/96791.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">166</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7</span> Field Tests and Numerical Simulation of Tunis Soft Soil Improvement Using Prefabricated Vertical Drains</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marwa%20Ben%20Khalifa">Marwa Ben Khalifa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zeineb%20Ben%20Salem"> Zeineb Ben Salem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wissem%20Frikha"> Wissem Frikha</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents a case study of “Radès la Goulette” bridge project using the technique of prefabricated vertical drains (PVD) associated with step by step construction of preloading embankments with averaged height of about 6 m. These embankments are founded on a highly compressible layer of Tunis soft soil. The construction steps included extensive soil instrumentation such as piezometers and settlement plates for monitoring the dissipation of excess pore water pressures and settlement during the consolidation of Tunis soft soil. An axisymmetric numerical model using the 2D finite difference code FLAC was developed and calibrated using laboratory tests to predict the soil behavior and consolidation settlements. The constitutive model impact for simulating the soft soil behavior is investigated. The results of analyses show that numerical analysis provided satisfactory predictions for the field performance during the construction of Radès la Goulette embankment. The obtained results show the effectiveness of PVD in the acceleration of the consolidation time. A comparison of numerical results with theoretical analysis was presented. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tunis%20soft%20soil" title="tunis soft soil">tunis soft soil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rad%C3%A8s%20bridge%20project" title=" radès bridge project"> radès bridge project</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=prefabricated%20vertical%20drains" title=" prefabricated vertical drains"> prefabricated vertical drains</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FLAC" title=" FLAC"> FLAC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acceleration%20of%20consolidation" title=" acceleration of consolidation"> acceleration of consolidation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146150/field-tests-and-numerical-simulation-of-tunis-soft-soil-improvement-using-prefabricated-vertical-drains" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146150.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">123</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6</span> Prevalence of Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase A1298C Variant in Tunisian Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rim%20Frikha">Rim Frikha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maha%20Ben%20Jema"> Maha Ben Jema</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Moez%20Elloumi"> Moez Elloumi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tarek%20Rebai"> Tarek Rebai</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL); a common blood cancer characterized by the interaction between genetic and environmental factors. Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is an essential folate metabolic enzyme in the processes of DNA synthesis and methylation. A common functional variant of the MTHFR gene, the A1298C, which induces disturbances in folate metabolism, may affect susceptibility to ALL. Objective: The present study aimed to assess the prevalence of MTHFR polymorphism A1298 > C in Tunisian children with ALL. Materials and Methods: A total of 28 Tunisian ALL children were enrolled in this study. Genomic DNA was extracted from whole venous blood collected in ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). Genotyping was carried out with restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) using MboII restriction enzyme. Genotype distribution and allele frequency of MTHFR A1298C was calculated in ALL patients. Results: The A1298C variant of MTHFR was found in 11(19.6%) heterozygous and one homozygous patient (3.5%). Conclusions: This result highlights that A1298C polymorphism of MTHFR is common in Tunisian childhood ALL and suggests that this variant may have a potential role in leukemogenesis. Genotyping of large samples and different ethnicities are required to validate these findings. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=methylenetetrahydrofolate%20reductase" title="methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase">methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acute%20lymphoblastic%20leukemia" title=" acute lymphoblastic leukemia"> acute lymphoblastic leukemia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A1298C%20variant" title=" A1298C variant"> A1298C variant</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=prevalence" title=" prevalence"> prevalence</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/121322/prevalence-of-methylenetetrahydrofolate-reductase-a1298c-variant-in-tunisian-childhood-acute-lymphoblastic-leukemia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/121322.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">135</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5</span> The MTHFR C677T Polymorphism Screening: A Challenge in Recurrent Pregnancy Loss</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rim%20Frikha">Rim Frikha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nouha%20Bouayed"> Nouha Bouayed</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Afifa%20Sellami"> Afifa Sellami</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nozha%20Chakroun"> Nozha Chakroun</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Salima%20Daoud"> Salima Daoud</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Leila%20Keskes"> Leila Keskes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tarek%20Rebai"> Tarek Rebai</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) defined as two or more pregnancy losses, is a serious clinical problem. Methylene-tetrahydro-folate-reductase (MTHFR) polymorphisms, commonly the variant C677T is recognized as an inherited thrombophilia which might affect embryonic development and pregnancy success and cause pregnancy complications as RPL. Material and Methods DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples and PCR-RFLP was performed for the molecular diagnosis of the C677T MTHFR polymorphism among 70 patients (35 couples) with more than 2 fetal losses. Aims and Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the frequency of MTHFR C677T among Tunisian couples with RPL and to critically analyze the available literature on the importance of MTHFR polymorphism testing in the management of RPL. Result and comments: No C677T mutation was detected in the carriers of RPL. This result would be related to sample size and to different criteria (number of abortion), - The association between MTHFR polymorphisms and pregnancy complications has been reported but with controversial results. - A lack of evidence for MTHFR polymorphism testing previously recommended by ACMG (American College of Medical medicine). Our study highlights the importance of screening of MTHFR polymorphism since the real impact of such thrombotic molecular defect on the pregnancy outcome is evident. - Folic supplementation of these patients during pregnancy can prevent such complications and lead to a successful pregnancy outcome. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=methylenetetrahydrofolate%20reductase" title="methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase">methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=C677T" title=" C677T"> C677T</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recurrent%20pregnancy%20loss" title=" recurrent pregnancy loss"> recurrent pregnancy loss</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genetic%20testing" title=" genetic testing"> genetic testing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44932/the-mthfr-c677t-polymorphism-screening-a-challenge-in-recurrent-pregnancy-loss" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44932.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">307</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> A Multigranular Linguistic ARAS Model in Group Decision Making</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wiem%20Daoud%20Ben%20Amor">Wiem Daoud Ben Amor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luis%20Mart%C3%ADnez%20L%C3%B3pez"> Luis Martínez López</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hela%20Moalla%20Frikha"> Hela Moalla Frikha</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Most of the multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM) problems dealing with qualitative criteria require consideration of the large background of expert information. It is common that experts have different degrees of knowledge for giving their alternative assessments according to criteria. So, it seems logical that they use different evaluation scales to express their judgment, i.e., multi granular linguistic scales. In this context, we propose the extension of the classical additive ratio assessment (ARAS) method to the case of a hierarchical linguistics term for managing multi granular linguistic scales in uncertain contexts where uncertainty is modeled by means in linguistic information. The proposed approach is called the extended hierarchical linguistics-ARAS method (ARAS-ELH). Within the ARAS-ELH approach, the DM can diagnose the results (the ranking of the alternatives) in a decomposed style, i.e., not only at one level of the hierarchy but also at the intermediate ones. Also, the developed approach allows a feedback transformation i.e the collective final results of all experts able to be transformed at any level of the extended linguistic hierarchy that each expert has previously used. Therefore, the ARAS-ELH technique makes it easier for decision-makers to understand the results. Finally, An MCGDM case study is given to illustrate the proposed approach. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=additive%20ratio%20assessment" title="additive ratio assessment">additive ratio assessment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=extended%20hierarchical%20linguistic" title=" extended hierarchical linguistic"> extended hierarchical linguistic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-criteria%20group%20decision%20making%20problems" title=" multi-criteria group decision making problems"> multi-criteria group decision making problems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi%20granular%20linguistic%20contexts" title=" multi granular linguistic contexts"> multi granular linguistic contexts</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/141933/a-multigranular-linguistic-aras-model-in-group-decision-making" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/141933.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">206</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> Prediction of Excess Pore Pressure Variation of Reinforced Silty Sand by Stone Columns During Liquefaction</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zeineb%20Ben%20Salem">Zeineb Ben Salem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wissem%20Frikha"> Wissem Frikha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mounir%20Bouassida"> Mounir Bouassida</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Liquefaction has been responsible for tremendous amounts of damage in historical earthquakes around the world. The installation of stone columns is widely adopted to prevent liquefaction. Stone columns provide a drainage path, and due to their high permeability, allow for the quick dissipation of earthquake generated excess pore water pressure. Several excess pore pressure generation models in silty sand have been developed and calibrated based on the results of shaking table and centrifuge tests focusing on the effect of silt content on liquefaction resistance. In this paper, the generation and dissipation of excess pore pressure variation of reinforced silty sand by stone columns during liquefaction are analyzedwith different silt content based on test results. In addition, the installation effect of stone columns is investigated. This effect is described by a decrease in horizontal permeability within a disturbed zone around the column. Obtained results show that reduced soil permeability and a larger disturbed zone around the stone column increases the generation of excess pore pressure during the cyclic loading and decreases the dissipation rate after cyclic loading. On the other hand, beneficial effects of silt content were observed in the form of a decrease in excess pore water pressure. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stone%20column" title="stone column">stone column</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=liquefaction" title=" liquefaction"> liquefaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=excess%20pore%20pressure" title=" excess pore pressure"> excess pore pressure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=silt%20content" title=" silt content"> silt content</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=disturbed%20zone" title=" disturbed zone"> disturbed zone</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reduced%20permeability" title=" reduced permeability"> reduced permeability</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146264/prediction-of-excess-pore-pressure-variation-of-reinforced-silty-sand-by-stone-columns-during-liquefaction" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146264.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">153</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Thrombophilic Mutations in Tunisian Patients with Recurrent Pregnancy Loss</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Frikha%20Rim">Frikha Rim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdelmoula%20Bouayed%20Nouha"> Abdelmoula Bouayed Nouha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rebai%20Tarek"> Rebai Tarek</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Pregnancy is a hypercoagulable state which causing a defective maternal haemostatic response and leading to thrombosis of the uteroplacental vasculature, that might cause pregnancy complications as recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). Since heritable Thrombophilic defects are associated with increased thrombosis, their prevalence was evaluated in patients with special emphasis on combinations of the above pathologies. Especially, Factor V Leiden (FVL) G1691A, methylene tetra hydro folate reductase (MTHFR) C677T, and factor II (FII) G20210A mutations are three important causes of thrombophilia, which might be related to recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). In this study we evaluated the presence of these three mutations [factor V Leiden (FVL), prothrombin G20210A (PTG) and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T] amongst 35 Tunisian women with more than 2 miscarriages, referred to our genetic counseling. DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples and PCR-RFLP was performed for the molecular diagnosis of each mutation. Factor V Leiden and Prothrombin mutation were detected respectively in 5.7% and 2.9% of women with particular history of early fetal loss and thrombotic events. Despites the luck of strength of this study, we insist that testing for the most inherited thrombophilia (FVL and FII mutation) should be performed in women with RPL in the context of thrombotic events. Multi-centre collaboration is necessary to clarify the real impact of thrombotic molecular defects on the pregnancy outcome, to ascertain the effect of thrombophilia on recurrent pregnancy loss and then to evaluate the appropriate therapeutic approach. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thrombophilia" title="thrombophilia">thrombophilia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recurrent%20pregnancy%20loss" title=" recurrent pregnancy loss"> recurrent pregnancy loss</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=factor%20V%20Leiden" title=" factor V Leiden"> factor V Leiden</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=prothrombin%20G20210A" title=" prothrombin G20210A"> prothrombin G20210A</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=methylene%20tetra%20hydro%20folate%20reductase" title=" methylene tetra hydro folate reductase"> methylene tetra hydro folate reductase</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18319/thrombophilic-mutations-in-tunisian-patients-with-recurrent-pregnancy-loss" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18319.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">458</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> The Effectiveness of Prefabricated Vertical Drains for Accelerating Consolidation of Tunis Soft Soil</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marwa%20Ben%20Khalifa">Marwa Ben Khalifa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zeineb%20Ben%20Salem"> Zeineb Ben Salem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wissem%20Frikha"> Wissem Frikha</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The purpose of the present work is to study the consolidation behavior of highly compressible Tunis soft soil “TSS” by means of prefabricated vertical drains (PVD’s) associated to preloading based on laboratory and field investigations. In the first hand, the field performance of PVD’s on the layer of Tunis soft soil was analysed based on the case study of the construction of embankments of “Radès la Goulette” bridge project. PVD’s Geosynthetics drains types were installed with triangular grid pattern until 10 m depth associated with step-by-step surcharge. The monitoring of the soil settlement during preloading stage for Radès La Goulette Bridge project was provided by an instrumentation composed by various type of tassometer installed in the soil. The distribution of water pressure was monitored through piezocone penetration. In the second hand, a laboratory reduced tests are performed on TSS subjected also to preloading and improved with PVD's Mebradrain 88 (Mb88) type. A specific test apparatus was designed and manufactured to study the consolidation. Two series of consolidation tests were performed on TSS specimens. The first series included consolidation tests for soil improved by one central drain. In thesecond series, a triangular mesh of three geodrains was used. The evolution of degree of consolidation and measured settlements versus time derived from laboratory tests and field data were presented and discussed. The obtained results have shown that PVD’s have considerably accelerated the consolidation of Tunis soft soil by shortening the drainage path. The model with mesh of three drains gives results more comparative to field one. A longer consolidation time is observed for the cell improved by a single central drain. A comparison with theoretical analysis, basically that of Barron (1948) and Carillo (1942), was presented. It’s found that these theories overestimate the degree of consolidation in the presence of PVD. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
