and He says to him, <FR>Follow me.<Fr> And having arisen up, he followed Him.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And it came to pass, He was sitting at the table in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners, having come were sitting along with Jesus and His disciples. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And the Pharisees seeing, said to His disciples, Wherefore does your teacher eat with publicans and sinners? <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And Jesus hearing said to them, <FR>They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick.<Fr> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span><FR>But having gone, learned what this is, I wish mercy and not sacrifice: for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.<Fr><p> <A name="15"></a><p class="hdg">Questions about Fasting<br /><span class="cross">(<a href ="../mark/2.htm#18">Mark 2:18&#8211;20</a>; And Jesus turning and seeing her said, <FR>Be of good cheer, daughter; thy faith hath saved thee.<Fr><p> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>And Jesus having come into the house of the ruler, and seeing the flute-players, and the weeping crowd, <A name="25"></a><span class="red"><p><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>says to them; <FR>Retire: for the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.<Fr> And they hooted at Him. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>And when the crowd was put out, coming to her, He took her by the hand, and the damsel arose. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>And this news went out into that whole country.<p> <A name="28"></a><p class="hdg">Jesus Heals the Blind and Mute<br /><span class="cross">(<a href ="../mark/7.htm#31">Mark 7:31&#8211;37</a>)</span><p><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>And two blind men followed Him, going thence, crying out, and saying, <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>Have mercy on us, thou Son of David. And the blind men came to Him, having come into the house: and Jesus says to them, <FR>Do you believe that I am able to do this?<Fr> They say to Him, Yea, Lord. <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>Then He touched their eyes, saying, <FR>Be it unto you according to your faith.<Fr> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>And their eyes were opened. And Jesus charged them, saying, <FR>See that no one know it.<Fr> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span>But they having gone out, spread abroad His fame in all that country.<p> <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span>And they going out, behold, they brought to Him a dumb man, demonized. <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span>And the demon having been cast out, the dumb spoke. And the multitudes were astonished, saying, <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/9-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span>Never did it so appear in Israel.
