The <a href="http://www.york.ac.uk/recordsmanagement/foi/">University's Publication Scheme</a> is a guide to the information the University publishes. Compliance is overseen by the <a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/records-management/contact/">Information Governance Office</a> in accordance with the <a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/records-management/foi/">University's F</a><a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/records-management/foi/">IA policies and procedures</a>.</p> <h3>Logs</h3> <p>The University maintains logs of its servers’ activities. The server log files include the IP address of each computer which accesses the University’s website. The logs are used to support essential maintenance of the site including analysing how the site is used.</p> <h3>Web forms</h3> <p>A site visitor may be asked to provide personal information when requesting a service. For example, visitors requesting a printed copy of a prospectus may be asked to complete an online form. By supplying this personal information, the visitor consents to the University storing the information for the stated purpose. The information is held by the University in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018.</p> <h3>Social media</h3> <p>The University uses a third-party provider, Sprout Social, to manage our social-media interactions. If you refer to the University in a publicly available social media post, or send us a private or direct message via social media, it will be stored by Sprout Social for 3 months. We use this information for internal purposes only and it won't be shared with any other organisations.<br><br>We see all of this information and decide how we manage it. For example, when we receive a social media message we will decide whether a response is needed, what type of response to provide and who should provide the response. Please note, when contacting the University through a social media platform, you should familiarise yourself with the privacy information of the social media platform you are using as well.</p> <h3>YouTube videos</h3> <p>This website makes use of the YouTube API Services to enhance the accessibility of YouTube videos that are embedded on the site.
