The term itself is not frequently used in the Bible, but the underlying ideas are present throughout the Scriptures.

1. Degrees of Measurement:
The Bible occasionally refers to measurements and distances, which can be understood as degrees in a literal sense. For example, in the construction of the Temple, specific measurements were given to ensure precision and adherence to God's instructions (1 Kings 6:2-3). While the term "degree" is not explicitly used, the concept of precise measurement is evident.

2. Degrees of Authority:
The Bible outlines various levels of authority within both the spiritual and earthly realms. In the Old Testament, the priesthood had degrees of authority, with the High Priest holding the highest position (Exodus 28:1). Similarly, in the New Testament, the apostles held a unique degree of authority as the foundational leaders of the early Church (Ephesians 2:20).

3. Degrees of Spiritual Growth:
The concept of spiritual maturity is akin to degrees of growth in the Christian life. Believers are encouraged to grow in their faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ, moving from spiritual infancy to maturity (Hebrews 5:12-14). The Apostle Paul speaks of this progression, urging believers to "press on toward the goal" (Philippians 3:14).

4. Degrees of Glory:
The Bible also speaks of degrees of glory, particularly in the context of the resurrection and eternal life. In 1 Corinthians 15:41-42, Paul compares the varying degrees of glory among celestial bodies to the resurrection of the dead, indicating that there will be differences in glory among the resurrected.

5. Degrees of Judgment:
Scripture indicates that there will be degrees of judgment based on one's knowledge and actions. Jesus taught that those who knew their master's will and did not prepare or act accordingly would receive a more severe punishment than those who were ignorant (Luke 12:47-48). This suggests a gradation in accountability and judgment.

6. Degrees of Reward:
The Bible also suggests that there will be degrees of reward in heaven. Jesus spoke of storing up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:20), and Paul mentioned that each person's work will be tested by fire, with rewards given according to what survives (1 Corinthians 3:12-15).

In summary, while the term "degree" is not frequently used in the Bible, the concept is woven throughout Scripture in various forms, illustrating the multifaceted nature of God's creation, authority, spiritual growth, glory, judgment, and reward.
Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary
1. (n.) A step, stair, or staircase.
2. (n.) One of a series of progressive steps upward or downward, in quality, rank, acquirement, and the like; a stage in progression; grade; gradation; as, degrees of vice and virtue; to advance by slow degrees; degree of comparison.
3. (n.) The point or step of progression to which a person has arrived; rank or station in life; position.
4.
