The Scriptures provide numerous accounts and teachings that highlight how God's presence serves as a refuge and solace in times of distress and uncertainty.<br><br><b>Old Testament Foundations</b><br><br>In the Old Testament, the presence of God is often associated with His covenant relationship with Israel. The tabernacle and later the temple were central places where God's presence dwelled among His people. <a href="/exodus/33-14.htm">Exodus 33:14</a> records God's promise to Moses: "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
