It is a standard network protocol commonly used to transfer files between a client and a server. It enables you to instantly transfer files (including large file sizes) to the JSTOR production staff. Our preferred method of file delivery is FTP, but we do accept other delivery methods if FTP is not possible.</p> <h2 id="h_7a160060-9d38-477c-b478-44bc46e4daf2">How do I connect to an FTP?</h2> <p>The server cannot be accessed through a web browser; you will need an FTP client to access the server. We recommend <a href="https://filezilla-project.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FileZilla</a> because it is free to download and easy to use. You may already have an FTP client such as FileZilla or Cyberduck installed on your computer.</p> <h2 id="h_406be209-8a43-4c30-8522-305fb997afda">FTP pop-up error: does not support FTP over TLS</h2> <p>That pop-up message is an expected message and isn’t really an error! To resolve, you can select the “always allow” option and then click OK to avoid receiving this message in the future.
