do not join<MH7896> your hand<MH3027> with a wicked<MH7563> person<MH7563> to be a malicious<MH2555> witness<MH5707>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>You shall not follow<MH1961, 310> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>the crowd<MH7227a> in doing evil<MH7463a>, nor<MH3808> shall you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>testify<MH6030a> in a dispute<MH7379> so as to join<MH5186> together<MH310> with <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>a crowd<MH7227a> in order to pervert<MH5186> <i>justice;</i> <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>nor<MH3808> shall you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>show<MH1921> favor<MH1921> to a poor<MH1800b> person<MH1800b> in his dispute<MH7379>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>“If<MH3588> you encounter<MH6293> your enemy’s<MH340> ox<MH7794> or<MH176> his donkey<MH2543> wandering<MH8582> away<MH8582>, you must<MH7725> return<MH7725> it to him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>If<MH3588> you see<MH7200> the donkey<MH2543> of one who hates<MH8130> you lying<MH7257> <i>helpless</i> under<MH8478> its load<MH4853a>, you shall not leave<MH5800a> it <i>helpless</i> for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>its owner; you must<MH5800b> arrange<MH5800b> <i>the load</i> with him. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>“You shall not pervert<MH5186> the justice<MH4941> <i>due</i> to your needy<MH34> <i>brother</i> in his dispute<MH7379>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Keep<MH7368> far<MH7368> from a false<MH8267> charge<MH1697>, and do not kill<MH2026> the innocent<MH5355a> or the righteous<MH6662>, for I will not acquit<MH6663> the guilty<MH7563>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>“You shall not take<MH3947> a bribe<MH7810>, for a bribe<MH7810> blinds<MH5786> the clear-sighted<MH6493> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>subverts<MH5557> the cause<MH1697> of the just<MH6662>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>“You shall not oppress<MH3905> a stranger<MH1616>, since you yourselves<MH864b> know<MH3045> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>feelings<MH5315> of a stranger<MH1616>, for you <i>also</i> were strangers<MH1616> in the land<MH776> of Egypt<MH4714>. <p class="hdg">The Sabbath and the Land</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>“Now you shall sow<MH2232> your land<MH776> for six<MH8337a> years<MH8141> and gather<MH622> in<MH622> its yield<MH8393>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>but <i>in</i> the seventh<MH7637> year<MH7637> you shall let<MH8058> it <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>rest<MH8058> and lie<MH5203> uncultivated<MH5203>, so that the needy<MH34> of your people<MH5971a> may eat<MH398>; and whatever<MH3499a> they leave<MH3499a> the animal<MH2421b> of the field<MH7704> may eat<MH398>. You are to do<MH6213a> the same<MH3651> with your vineyard<MH3754> <i>and</i> your olive<MH2132> grove<MH2132>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>“For six<MH8337a> days<MH3117> you are to do<MH6213a> your work<MH4639>, but on the seventh<MH7637> day<MH3117> you shall cease<MH7673a> <i>from labor</i> so<MH4616> that<MH4616> your ox<MH7794> and your donkey<MH2543> may rest<MH5117>, and the son<MH1121> of your female<MH519> slave<MH519>, as well as the stranger<MH1616> <i>residing with you, may</i> refresh<MH5314> themselves. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Now concerning everything<MH3605> which<MH834> I have said<MH559> to you, be<MH8104> careful<MH8104>; and do not mention<MH2142> the name<MH8034> of other<MH312> gods<MH430>, nor<MH3808> let <i>them</i> be heard<MH8085> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>from your mouth<MH6310>. <p class="hdg">Three National Feasts</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>“Three<MH7969> times<MH7272> a year<MH8141> you shall celebrate<MH2287> a<MH2287> feast<MH2287> to Me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>You shall keep<MH8104> the Feast<MH2282> of Unleavened<MH4682> Bread<MH4682>; for seven<MH7651> days<MH3117> you are to eat<MH398> unleavened<MH4682> bread<MH4682>, as I commanded<MH6680> you, at the appointed<MH4150> time<MH4150> in the month<MH2320> of Abib<MH24>, for in <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>that month you came<MH3318> out<MH3318> of Egypt<MH4714>. And <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>no<MH3808> one<MH3808> is to appear<MH7200> before<MH6440> Me empty-handed<MH7387>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>Also <i>you shall keep</i> the Feast<MH2282> of the Harvest<MH7105a> <i>of</i> the first<MH1061> fruits<MH1061> of your labors<MH4639> <i>from</i> what<MH834> you sow<MH2232> in the field<MH7704>; also the Feast<MH2282> of the Ingathering<MH614> at the end<MH3318> of the year<MH8141> when you gather<MH622> in<MH622> <i>the fruit of</i> your labors<MH4639> from the field<MH7704>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Three<MH7969> times<MH6471> a year<MH8141> all<MH3605> your males<MH2138> shall appear<MH7200> before<MH6440> the Lord<MH3068> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>GOD<MH3068>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>“You shall not offer<MH2076> the blood<MH1818> of My sacrifice<MH2077> with leavened<MH2557> bread<MH2557>; nor<MH3808> is the fat<MH2459> of My <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>feast<MH2282> to remain<MH3885a> overnight<MH3885a> until<MH5704> morning<MH1242>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>“You shall bring<MH935> the choice<MH7225> first<MH1061> fruits<MH1061> of your soil<MH127> into the house<MH1004> of the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>. <p class="paragraph"> “You are not to boil<MH1310> a young<MH1423> goat<MH1423> in the milk<MH2461> of its mother<MH517>. <p class="hdg">Conquest of the Land</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>“Behold<MH2009>, I am going to send<MH7971> an angel<MH4397> before<MH6440> you to guard<MH8104> you along the way<MH1870> and to bring<MH935> you into the place<MH4725> which<MH834> I have prepared<MH3559>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>Be<MH8104> attentive<MH8104> to him and obey<MH8085> his voice<MH6963>; do not be rebellious<MH4784> toward him, for he will not pardon<MH5375> your rebellion<MH6588>, since<MH3588> My name<MH8034> is in him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>But if<MH518> you truly<MH8085> obey<MH8085> his voice<MH6963> and do<MH6213a> all<MH3605> that I say<MH1696>, then I will be an enemy<MH340> to your enemies<MH340> and an adversary<MH6696b> to your adversaries<MH6887c>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>For My angel<MH4397> will go<MH1980> before<MH6440> you and bring<MH935> you into <i>the land of</i> the Amorites<MH567>, the Hittites<MH2850>, the Perizzites<MH6522>, the Canaanites<MH3669a>, the Hivites<MH2340>, and the Jebusites<MH2983>; and I will completely<MH3582> destroy<MH3582> them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>You shall not worship<MH2331c> their gods<MH430>, nor<MH3808> serve<MH5647> them, nor<MH3808> do<MH6213a> according to their deeds<MH4639>; but you shall utterly<MH2040> overthrow<MH2040> them and break<MH7665> their memorial<MH4676> stones<MH4676> in<MH7665> pieces<MH7665>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>And you shall serve<MH5647> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>and He will bless<MH1288> your bread<MH3899> and your water<MH4325>; and I will remove<MH5493> sickness<MH4245a> from your midst<MH7130>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>There will be no<MH3808> one miscarrying<MH7921> or unable<MH6135> to<MH6135> have<MH6135> children<MH6135> in your land<MH776>; I will fulfill<MH4390> the number<MH4557> of your days<MH3117>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>I will send<MH7971> My terror<MH367> ahead<MH6440> of you, and throw<MH2000> into<MH2000> confusion<MH2000> all<MH3605> the people<MH5971a> among whom<MH834> you come<MH935>, and I will make<MH5414> all<MH3605> your enemies<MH340> turn<MH5414> <i>their</i> backs<MH6203> to you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>And I will send<MH7971> hornets<MH6880> ahead<MH6440> of you so that they will drive<MH1644> out<MH1644> the Hivites<MH2340>, the Canaanites<MH3669a>, and the Hittites<MH2850> from you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>I will not drive<MH1644> them out<MH1644> from you in a single<MH259> year<MH8141>, so<MH6435> that<MH6435> the land<MH776> will not<MH6435> become<MH1961> desolate<MH8077> and the animals<MH2421b> of the field<MH7704> become<MH7231> too<MH5921> numerous<MH7231> for you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>I will drive<MH1644> them out<MH1644> from you little<MH4592> by little<MH4592>, until<MH5704, 834> you become<MH6509> fruitful<MH6509> and take<MH5157> possession<MH5157> of the land<MH776>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/23-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span>I will set<MH7896> your boundary<MH1366> from the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>Red<MH5488, 3220> Sea<MH3220> to the sea<MH3220> of the Philistines<MH6430>, and from the wilderness<MH4057b> to the <i>Euphrates</i> River<MH5104>;
