Auditors also oversee an independent public accounting firm’s audit of the Board’s and the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s financial statements.</p> <p><strong>IT auditors and IT specialists </strong>conduct audits and evaluations of the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the information technology programs of the Board and the CFPB and perform security reviews of the agencies’ systems and applications to ensure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of their data. These audits and evaluations focus on information security controls, systems development, operations, investment, and contractor support. Our Data Analytics Group conducts risk assessments and analytical analysis to help audit and investigation teams identify trends and form conclusions.</p> <p><strong>Criminal investigators </strong>conduct complex fraud investigations as well as investigations into violations of ethics and of Board and CFPB policies. They have the authority to carry firearms and to seek and execute search and arrest warrants.
