And if<MH518> you seek<MH1875> Him, He will let you find<MH4672> Him; but if<MH518> you abandon<MH5800a> Him, He will abandon<MH5800a> you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>For many<MH7227a> days<MH3117> Israel<MH3478> was without<MH3808> the true<MH571> God<MH430> and without<MH3808> a teaching<MH3384> priest<MH3548> and without<MH3808> <i>the</i> Law<MH8451>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>But in their distress<MH6862b> they turned<MH7725> to the LORD<MH3068> God<MH430> of Israel<MH3478>, and they sought<MH1245> Him, and He let them find<MH4672> Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>In those<MH1992a> times<MH6256> there<MH369> was<MH369> no<MH369> peace<MH7965> for him who went<MH3318> out<MH3318> or him who came<MH935> in<MH935>, because<MH3588> many<MH7227a> disturbances<MH4103> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>afflicted<MH5921> all<MH3605> the inhabitants<MH3427> of the lands<MH776>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>Nation<MH1471> was crushed<MH3807> by nation<MH1471>, and city<MH5892b> by city<MH5892b>, for God<MH430> troubled<MH2000> them with every<MH3605> kind of distress<MH6869a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>But you, be strong<MH2388> and do not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>lose<MH3027, 7503> courage<MH3027, 7503>, for there<MH3426> is<MH3426> a reward<MH7939> for your work<MH6468>.&#8221; <p class="hdg">Asa&#8217;s Reforms</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Now when Asa<MH609> heard<MH8085> these<MH428> words<MH1697> and the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>prophecy<MH5016> which Azariah<MH5838> the son of Oded<MH5752> the prophet<MH5030> spoke, he took<MH2388> courage<MH2388> and removed<MH5674a> the abominable<MH8251> idols<MH8251> from all<MH3605> the land<MH776> of Judah<MH3063> and Benjamin<MH1144>, and from the cities<MH5892b> which<MH834> he had captured<MH3920> in the hill<MH2022> country<MH2022> of Ephraim<MH669>. He then restored<MH2318> the altar<MH4196> of the LORD<MH3068> which<MH834> was in front<MH6440> of the porch<MH197> of the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And he gathered<MH6908> all<MH3605> Judah<MH3063> and Benjamin<MH1144>, and those from Ephraim<MH669>, Manasseh<MH4519>, and Simeon<MH8095> who resided<MH1481a> with them, for many<MH7230> defected<MH5307> to him from Israel<MH3478> when they saw<MH7200> that the LORD<MH3068> his God<MH430> was with him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>So they assembled<MH6908> at Jerusalem<MH3389> in the third<MH7992> month<MH2320> of the fifteenth<MH2568, 6240> year<MH8141> of Asa&#8217;s<MH609> reign<MH4438>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>They sacrificed<MH2076> to the LORD<MH3068> on that day<MH3117> seven<MH7651> hundred<MH3967> oxen<MH1241> and seven<MH7651> thousand<MH505> sheep<MH6629> from the spoils<MH7998> they had brought<MH935>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>They entered<MH935> into the covenant<MH1285> to seek<MH1875> the LORD<MH3068> God<MH430> of their fathers<MH1> with all<MH3605> their heart<MH3824> and soul<MH5315>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>and whoever<MH834, 3605> would not seek<MH1875> the LORD<MH3068> God<MH430> of Israel<MH3478> was to be put<MH4191> to<MH4191> death<MH4191>, whether<MH4480> small<MH6996b> or<MH5704> great<MH1419>, man<MH376> or<MH5704> woman<MH802>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>Moreover, they made<MH7650> an<MH7650> oath<MH7650> to the LORD<MH3068> with a loud<MH1419> voice<MH6963>, with shouting<MH8643>, trumpets<MH2689>, and with horns<MH7782>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_chronicles/15-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>All<MH3605> Judah<MH3063> rejoiced<MH8055> concerning<MH5921> the oath<MH7621>, for they had sworn<MH7650> with all<MH3605> their heart<MH3824> and had sought<MH1245> Him <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>earnestly<MH3605, 7522>, and He let them find<MH4672> Him.
