Many Bitcoin projects and companies use Slack for their employees which makes it easy for me to contact experts to get comments for my articles. We used other message app but it was way more complicated and it didn’t meet our needs. With Slack the chat format is understandable and clear and it is great for business purposes. Lot of our co-workers prefer Slack over the other message tool. It is fast and it provides easy communication. You can use its API to integrate with other business systems. You can organize the chats in public and private channels, and send direct messages to your colleagues. Direct messages are necessary sometimes, though they may affect team collaboration. I like that it allows us to share almost every kind of media like images, doc, and links and to create snippets. The team admins have total control over the channels, apps integrations, invitations and members. It has great integration with the apps and we are able to centralize varipus types of the information. The other good thing about the software is that is cloud-based. All the daily activities and monitoring are automated and this is great because we can easily improve and increase our workflow.</p> <p><strong>CONS:</strong> I have experienced slow speed on the mobile app on my windows phone. We have integrated it with our Zendesk instance, as well as alerts, and slackbots. I am an IT expert and people use Slack to contact me throughout the day. Its mobile app matches the desktop clients when it comes to user experience. My favorite Slack features are creating custom Slack bots and integrating the app with the other business tools we use.</p> <p><strong>CONS:</strong> The only thing I don’t like about Slack is that we have to pay for using it. However, the free apps are not as good as Slack so the investment is worth it. Some of the plug-ins and features can be hard to deploy. I like its file sharing feature. It works fantastic. It is simple, quick and everyone starts to use this tool even though someone doesn’t have much experience with tech world. I like its simplicity. You will experience its benefits with Plus Plan but the prices start from $8/monthly and $6.67 per team member for the standard version. I like that important and steaming-off conversations are in one place. We are able to communicate with each other and we always use its public channels, the team is able to share the progress info with others.</p> <p><strong>CONS:</strong> Sometimes it is not organized and it can be hard to see the conversation flow. It can be hard for someone who is not in the office and who wants to get updated conversations. I like the integration with Trello and GitHub and we always get notifications when something is actioned in one of those particular apps. The interface is clear and easy to use. The buttons are understandable. I also like that it has access to different 3rd party apps and this means that we can include GIF’s in our messages. The web-based help support is easy to use.</p> <p><strong>CONS:</strong> Sometimes we are overwhelmed from the messages from other web apps and the fact that is most frustrating is that you cannot control what notifications you want to receive. They could also improve the search function because sometimes it’s difficult to find some old messages. In addition, I found the Slackbot useless.
