He was previously an Assistant Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China, a Chief Scientist at the Institute of Urban Agriculture (IUA), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), China, a Principal Scientist at Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Food Science & Technology, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. He will join the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Faculty of Science, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), HK, as an Assistant Professor and Presidential Young Scholar soon. His research mainly focuses on plant-based foods, probiotics, gut microbiome and human nutrition/health, and related work has generated more than 200 SCIE-indexed publications, including more than 130 papers as the first/corresponding author and more than 20 ESI highly cited papers. He has also filed more than 30 Chinese patents, with 20 of them awarded. According to Google Scholar, his publications have been cited more than 19,000 times, with an H-index of 70. He comes to OSU from the top-ranked entrepreneurship program at Syracuse University, where he led a portfolio of educational and community engagement initiatives. He has worked with faculty across an array of disciplines on curriculum development and outreach programs related to creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. At OSU, he was the Executive Director, Riata Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Norman C. Stevenson Chair in School of Entrepreneurship. He is now the Director of the Riata Institute for Global Social Entrepreneurship and International Entrepreneurship Chair. He teaches and is pioneering its Study Abroad initiatives to Nicaragua, Ecuador, Tel Aviv, Pakistan, India, Africa, South Africa, China, and Mexico. He was the Senior Vice-President for Marketing, USASBE (US Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship) from 2016-18. A former contracts specialist at General Electric and contracts officer the Syracuse Research Corporation, Craig has experience in project management and contracts administration. He received his MSc and PhD degrees in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is a registered professional engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Dr. Salau serves as a reviewer for various reputable international journals, and is Co-Chair and technical program committee of various international conferences. Dr. Salau has authored 3 Academic books and over 170 international research articles in major reputable international Journals, book series, and conferences. His research interests include research in the fields of computer vision, image processing, signal processing, machine learning, power systems engineering, and nuclear engineering. In 2019, Dr. Salau’s paper was awarded the best paper of the year in Cogent Engineering. In 2020, he received the Quarterly Franklin Membership given by the Editorial Board of London Journals Press for top quality research output. Also in 2020, he received the International Research Award on New Science Inventions (NESIN) under the category of “Best Researcher Award” given by ScienceFather. In 2022, he received the International Best Researcher Award given by the ISSN International Science & Technology Awarding body (IISTAC-2022). In 2022, he was also awarded the Young Scientist Award by the International Research Awards on Science, Technology and Management, INSO.
