Now, when you type your message, if you type a little over 140 characters, the background will turn red, and you will see a new option appear to turn this into a Long update.</p> <p>If you do not want to send a long update, just edit your message down to 140 characters.</p> <p>If you do want to send a long update, simply click the "Long update" checkbox before sending and your message will be sent as a Deck.ly long update. If you continue typing your message way over 140 characters, TweetDeck will assume you want to send a long update and will enable the checkbox for you.
