After completing her training at UCSF, she remains committed to the education and training of our futureleaders in her role as Fellowship program Director and Vice Chair for Diversity in the Department of Neurology. After attending a CSW-sponsored event focused on work-life balance, she joined CSW to become an active participant in supporting the community of women at UCSF. She is also involved in peer mentoring of fellow women faculty and is actively involved with WARM Hearts (Women’s Advancement and Recognition in Medicine), a peer networking and women’s faculty development group based at ZSFG. While the chair of WARM Hearts from 2014-2018 she was a member of CSW to ensure that women faculty based at ZSFG were represented in the larger UCSF community. Shaw Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Global Health at UCSF. She directs a research program focused on understanding immunity to malaria, identifying correlates of protective immunity to guide vaccine design, and investigating the impact of prenatal exposure to pathogens on the infant immune response. She provides clinical care to pediatric inpatients at the Benioff Children’s Hospital. She has been a member of the UCSF faculty since 2009, and joined the CSW in 2019 in order to advocate for women in science and clinical careers. Zion, Diana oversees the academic side of the Division in all aspects of education, financial, HR, operations, and research, working closely with the Chief and the more than 75 faculty to ensure that DGIM is providing high-quality care to more than 25,000 patients, training the future leaders of primary care medicine, and creating new and innovative treatments. She is currently finishing up her term as one of the School of Medicine Dean’s Diversity Leader focusing on staff DEI issues. During her three decades of teaching and mentoring Pediatric and Neonatal graduate nursing students at UCSF, Mary has been committed to developing future providers to support high quality health care for acute and chronically ill infants and children. She is the PI on a UC Office of the President-funded initiative to advance faculty diversity in Departmental leadership positions and has served as investigator on two NIH grants to enhance the training of women and underrepresented minorities within the health sciences workforce. RAP is a centralized, campus-wide program that manages the dissemination, submission, review and award of a broad range of intramural funding opportunities. Weiss is a human geneticist and her research laboratory studies the complex genetics of autism using both analytical and experimental methods. Lauren joined the CSW after starting a Professional Problem Solving group for junior female faculty. She was inspired to do so after attending an AAMC leadership event for women with a session on table manners where female faculty were taught how to set a table and told not to leave lipstick marks on a glass (because it can be very distracting for male colleagues), but where the other attendees had more helpful ideas to share based on their career experiences. Lauren was a co-recipient of the Chancellor's Award for the Advancement of Women based on her work with CSW to develop 'tip sheets' to reduce gender bias in common academic scenarios.
