A CFD simulation using fluid-solid interactions scheme has been conducted to investigate the gravitational effects and hazards inside cerebral aneurysms. Medical data have been used to derive the size and geometry of a simple aneurysm on a T-shaped bifurcation. The results show that gravitational force has no effect on maximum Wall Shear Stress (WSS); hence, it will not cause aneurysm initiation/formation. However, gravitational force cause causes hypertension which could contribute to aneurysm rupture. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aneurysm" title="aneurysm">aneurysm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cfd" title=" cfd"> cfd</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wall%20shear%20stress" title=" wall shear stress"> wall shear stress</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gravity" title=" gravity"> gravity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid%20dynamics" title=" fluid dynamics"> fluid dynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bifurcation%20artery" title=" bifurcation artery"> bifurcation artery</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/50418/numerical-study-on-the-hazards-of-gravitational-forces-on-cerebral-aneurysms" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/50418.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">368</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">43</span> Optimization of Machining Parameters by Using Cryogenic Media</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shafqat%20Wahab">Shafqat Wahab</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Tahir"> Waseem Tahir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manzoor%20Ahmad"> Manzoor Ahmad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sarfraz%20Khan"> Sarfraz Khan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Azam"> M. Code is formulated using MATLAB language. Instead of using both elements in the same code, two separate codes are written. Quadrilateral element is difficult to handle directly, that is why natural coordinates (eta, ksi) are used. Due to this, Q4 code includes numerical integration (Gauss quadrature). In this case, complete numerical integration is performed using 2 points. On the other hand, T3 element can be modeled directly, by using direct stiffness approach. Axially loaded element, cantilever (special constraints) and Patch test cases were analyzed using both codes and the results were verified by using Ansys. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FEM%20code" title="FEM code">FEM code</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MATLAB" title=" MATLAB"> MATLAB</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=numerical%20integration" title=" numerical integration"> numerical integration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ANSYS" title=" ANSYS"> ANSYS</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2344/development-of-fem-code-for-2-d-elasticity-problems-using-quadrilateral-and-triangular-elements" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2344.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">419</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">40</span> Coding of RMAC and Its Theoretical and Simulation-Based Performance Comparison with SMAC</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hamida%20Qumber%20Ali">Hamida Qumber Ali</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Muhammad%20Arain"> Waseem Muhammad Arain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shama%20Siddiqui"> Shama Siddiqui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sayeed%20Ghani"> Sayeed Ghani</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We present an implementing of RMAC in TinyOS 1.x. Sequence similarity determines similar protein structures, similar function, and homology detection. Biological sequences composed of amino acid residues or nucleotides provide significant information through sequence alignment. In this paper, we present a new similarity/dissimilarity measure to sequence alignment based on the primary structure of a protein. The approach finds the distance between the two given sequences using the novel sequence alignment algorithm and a mathematical model. The algorithm runs at a time complexity of O(n²). A distance matrix is generated to construct a phylogenetic tree of different species. The new similarity/dissimilarity measure outperforms other existing methods. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=alignment" title="alignment">alignment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=distance" title=" distance"> distance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=homology" title=" homology"> homology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mathematical%20model" title=" mathematical model"> mathematical model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=phylogenetic%20tree" title=" phylogenetic tree"> phylogenetic tree</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/95183/a-similaritydissimilarity-measure-to-biological-sequence-alignment" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/95183.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">178</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">37</span> Improvement in Tool Life Through Optimizing Cutting Parameters Using Cryogenic Media in Machining of Aerospace Alloy Steel</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Tahir">Waseem Tahir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Syed%20Hussain%20Imran%20Jaffery"> Syed Hussain Imran Jaffery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Azam"> Mohammad Azam</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this research work, liquid nitrogen gas (LN2) is used as a cryogenic media to optimize the cutting parameters for evaluation of tool flank wear width of Tungsten Carbide Insert (CNMG 120404-WF 4215) while turning a high strength alloy steel. This paper compares two of the most well-known and widely used licensed commercial tools, i.e., Encase & FTK. The comparison was drawn on various parameters and features to provide an authentic evaluation of licensed versions of these well-known commercial tools against various real-world scenarios. In order to discover the popularity of these tools within the digital forensic community, a survey was conducted publicly to determine the preferred choice. The dataset used is the Computer Forensics Reference Dataset (CFReDS). A total of 70 features were selected from various categories. Upon comparison, both FTK and EnCase produce remarkable results. However, each tool has some limitations, and none of the tools is declared best. The comparison drawn is completely unbiased, based on factual data. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=digital%20forensics" title="digital forensics">digital forensics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=commercial%20tools" title=" commercial tools"> commercial tools</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=investigation" title=" investigation"> investigation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=forensic%20evaluation" title=" forensic evaluation"> forensic evaluation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/190321/digital-forensics-showdown-encase-and-ftk-head-to-head" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/190321.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">19</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">34</span> Classification Rule Discovery by Using Parallel Ant Colony Optimization</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Shahzad">Waseem Shahzad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ayesha%20Tahir%20Khan"> Ayesha Tahir Khan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hamid%20Hussain%20Awan"> Hamid Hussain Awan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Ant-Miner algorithm that lies under ACO algorithms is used to extract knowledge from data in the form of rules. A variant of Ant-Miner algorithm named as cAnt-MinerPB is used to generate list of rules using pittsburgh approach in order to maintain the rule interaction among the rules that are generated. In this paper, we propose a parallel Ant MinerPB in which Ant colony optimization algorithm runs parallel. In this technique, a data set is divided vertically (i-e attributes) into different subsets. These subsets are created based on the correlation among attributes using Mutual Information (MI). It generates rules in a parallel manner and then merged to form a final list of rules. The results have shown that the proposed technique achieved higher accuracy when compared with original cAnt-MinerPB and also the execution time has also reduced. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ant%20colony%20optimization" title="ant colony optimization">ant colony optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=parallel%20Ant-MinerPB" title=" parallel Ant-MinerPB"> parallel Ant-MinerPB</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vertical%20partitioning" title=" vertical partitioning"> vertical partitioning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=classification%20rule%20discovery" title=" classification rule discovery"> classification rule discovery</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43773/classification-rule-discovery-by-using-parallel-ant-colony-optimization" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43773.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">295</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">33</span> Seroprevalence of Cytomegalovirus among Pregnant Women in Islamabad, Pakistan</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hassan%20Waseem">Hassan Waseem</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is ubiquitously distributed viral agent responsible for different clinical manifestations that may vary according to the immunologic status of the patient. CMV can cause morbidity and mortality among fetuses and patients with compromised immune system. A cross-sectional study was carried out in Islamabad to investigate the prevalence and risk factors associated with CMV infection among pregnant women. Blood samples of 172 pregnant women visiting Mother and Child Healthcare, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad were taken. In present study, serum samples of the women were checked for CMV-specific IgG and IgM antibodies by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Clinical, obstetrical and socio-demographical characteristics of the women were collected by using structured questionnaires. Out of 172 pregnant women included in the study, 171 (99.4%) were CMV specific IgG positive and 30 (17.4%) were found positive for CMV-IgM antibodies. The CMV has taken an endemic form in Pakistan so, routine screening of CMV among pregnant women is recommended. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cytomegalovirus" title="Cytomegalovirus">Cytomegalovirus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=blood%20transfusion" title=" blood transfusion"> blood transfusion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ELISA" title=" ELISA"> ELISA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seroprevalence" title=" seroprevalence "> seroprevalence </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/28109/seroprevalence-of-cytomegalovirus-among-pregnant-women-in-islamabad-pakistan" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/28109.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">365</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">32</span> Correlation between Early Government Interventions in the Northeastern United States and COVID-19 Outcomes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Joel%20Mintz">Joel Mintz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kyle%20Huntley"> Kyle Huntley</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Wahood"> Waseem Wahood</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Samuel%20Raine"> Samuel Raine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Farzanna%20Haffizulla"> Farzanna Haffizulla</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The effect of different state government interventions on COVID-19 health outcomes is currently unknown. A linear correlation between the peak number of new daily COVID-19 positive tests, hospitalizations and deaths per capita and the elapsed time between government issued guidance and a fixed number of COVID-19 deaths in each state was performed. Earlier government interventions were correlated with lower peak healthcare burden. Statewide closures of schools and non-essential businesses showed significantly greater (p<.001) correlation to peak COVID-19 disease burden as compared to a statewide SAH. The recent trend is to control the disease by target base inhibiting of enzymes or proteins. Secreted frizzled-related protein 4 (SFRP4) is found to cause five times more risk of diabetes when expressed above average levels. This study was therefore designed to analyze the SFRP4 and to find its potential inhibitors. SFRP4 was analyzed by bio-informatics tools of sequence tool and structure tool. A total of three potential inhibitors of SFRP4 were found, namely cyclothiazide, clopamide and perindopril. These inhibitors showed significant interactions with SFRP4 as compared to other inhibitors as well as control (acetohexamide). The findings suggest the possible treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2 by inhibiting the SFRP4 using the inhibitors cyclothiazide, clopamide and perindopril. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bioscreening" title="bioscreening">bioscreening</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=clopamide" title=" clopamide"> clopamide</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cyclothiazide" title=" cyclothiazide"> cyclothiazide</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diabetes%20mellitus" title=" diabetes mellitus"> diabetes mellitus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perindopril" title=" perindopril"> perindopril</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SFRP4" title=" SFRP4"> SFRP4</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33442/computer-aided-screening-of-secreted-frizzled-related-protein-4-sfrp4-a-potential-control-for-diabetes-mellitus" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33442.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">448</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">30</span> The Existence of a Sciatic Artery in Congenital Lower Limb Deformities</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Al%20Talalwah">Waseem Al Talalwah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shorok%20Al%20Dorazi"> Shorok Al Dorazi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Roger%20Soames"> Roger Soames</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Persistent sciatic artery is a rare anatomical vascular variation resulting from a lack of regression of the embryonic dorsal axial artery. The axial artery is the main artery supplying the lower limb during development in the first trimester. The current research includes 206 sciatic artery cases in 171 patients between 1864 and 2012. It aims to identify the risk factor of sciatic artery aneurysm in congenital limb anomalies. Sciatic artery aneurysm was diagnosed incidentally in amniotic band syndrome (ABS) existing with no congenital anomaly in 0.7% or with double knee in 0.7%, with the tibia in 0.7% and with hemihypertrophy or soft tissue hypertrophy in 1.4%. Therefore, the current study indicates a relationship the same gene responsible for the congenital limb deformities may be responsible for non-regression of the sciatic artery. Furthermore, pediatricians should refer cases of congenital limb anomalies for vascular evaluation prior to corrective surgical intervention. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=amniotic%20band%20syndrome" title="amniotic band syndrome">amniotic band syndrome</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=congenital%20limb%20deformities" title=" congenital limb deformities"> congenital limb deformities</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=double%20knee" title=" double knee"> double knee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sciatic%20artery" title=" sciatic artery"> sciatic artery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sciatic%20artery%20aneurysm" title=" sciatic artery aneurysm "> sciatic artery aneurysm </a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=soft%20tissue%20hypertrophy" title=" soft tissue hypertrophy"> soft tissue hypertrophy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/76477/the-existence-of-a-sciatic-artery-in-congenital-lower-limb-deformities" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/76477.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">376</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">29</span> Business Constraints and Growth Potential of Smes: Case Study of Electrical Industry in Pakistan</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Waseem%20Akram">Muhammad Waseem Akram</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The current study attempts to analyze the impact of business constraints on the growth potential and performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the electrical industry of Pakistan. Primary data have been utilized for the study collected from the electrical industry cluster in Sargodha, Pakistan. OLS regression is used to assess the impact of business constraints on the performance of SMEs by controlling the effect of Technology Level, Innovations, and Firm Size. To associate business constraints with the growth potential of SMEs, the study utilized Tetrachoric Correlation and Logistic Regression. Findings reveal that all the business constraints negatively affect the performance of SMEs in the electrical industry except Political Instability. Results of Tetrachoric Correlation show that all the business constraints are negatively correlated with the growth potential of SMEs. Logistic Regression results show that Energy Constraint, Inflation and Price Instability, and Bad Business Practices, all three business constraints cause to reduce the probability of income growth in sample SMEs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SMEs" title="SMEs">SMEs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=business%20constraints" title=" business constraints"> business constraints</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=performance" title=" performance"> performance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=growth%20potential" title=" growth potential"> growth potential</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/119139/business-constraints-and-growth-potential-of-smes-case-study-of-electrical-industry-in-pakistan" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/119139.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">169</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">28</span> Anatomical Features of Internal Pudendal Artery</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Adel%20Yasky">Adel Yasky</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Al-Talalwah"> Waseem Al-Talalwah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shorok%20Al%20Dorazi"> Shorok Al Dorazi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Roger%20Soames"> Roger Soames</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The internal pudendal artery is a standard branch of the anterior division of the internal iliac artery. The current study includes 41 cadavers to investigate the origin and branches of the internal pudendal artery and its clinical significances. The internal pudendal artery arose directly from the anterior division of the internal iliac artery in 48.3% while it arose indirectly in 48.5%. However, the internal pudendal artery arose from the posterior division of internal iliac artery in 1.6%. Moreover, it arose internal iliac artery bifurcation site in 1.6%. Further, the internal pudendal artery supplied the urinary bladder in 17.1%. Also, the internal pudendal artery supplied the rectum 33.5% respectively. It gave uterine and vaginal arteries in 9.4% and 7.8% respectively. Finally, it supplied the sciatic nerve via giving lateral sacral branch in 1.6%. Internists, surgeons and radiologists have to be aware of the variability to decrease iatrogenic injury. Therefore, unnecessary proximal ligation should be avoided at the site of indirect origin of the internal pudendal artery to prevent sciatic neuropathy. Further, intrapelvic bleeding as result of laceration of internal pudendal branches during hysterectomy, prostatectomy or proctectomy should be expected. However, this approach depends on the use of uterine manipulator to facilitate the surgery. Although many studies reported the effectiveness of TLH with uterine manipulator, only few reported TLH without the use of any uterine or vaginal manipulation. the aim of this report is to demonstrate our Technique (kamran's TLH) in performing TLH without the use of any uterine or vaginal manipulation in benign conditions and report our intra- and post-operative outcomes. Methodology : surgical technique will be demonstrated through a short video highlighting the easy and safe to learn surgical steps. Additionally, the data of 86 patients who underwent KTLH for benign condition were retrospectively analyzed. the data included intra- and postoperative finding and complications. Results : A total of 86 hysterectomies were performed utilizing the Kamran's TLH ( KTHL). Mean age was 52.2 (±11) years old and BMI was 28.2(±7). Mean operative time was 64.7(±27.9) minutes and estimated bloods loss was 46.2(±54.6) ml. No intraoperative complications were recorded and there was no conversion to open surgery. Only one patient required readmission and surgery for vaginal vault dehiscence. Conclusion & Significance: Uterine manipulator is a key component in performing laparoscopic hysterectomy. However, our approach demonstrated that TLH can be safely performed without the use of any uterine or vaginal manipulation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laparoscopic%20hystrectomy" title="laparoscopic hystrectomy">laparoscopic hystrectomy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=TLH" title=" TLH"> TLH</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=uterine%20manipulator" title=" uterine manipulator"> uterine manipulator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surgery" title=" surgery "> surgery </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/128639/it-is-time-to-perform-total-laparoscopic-hysterectomy-tlh-without-the-use-of-uterine-manipulator-kamrans-tlh" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/128639.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">155</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25</span> Artificial Bee Colony Optimization for SNR Maximization through Relay Selection in Underlay Cognitive Radio Networks</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Babar%20Sultan">Babar Sultan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kiran%20Sultan"> Kiran Sultan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Khan"> Waseem Khan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ijaz%20Mansoor%20Qureshi"> Ijaz Mansoor Qureshi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, a novel idea for the performance enhancement of secondary network is proposed for Underlay Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs). In Underlay CRNs, primary users (PUs) impose strict interference constraints on the secondary users (SUs). The proposed scheme is based on Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) optimization for relay selection and power allocation to handle the highlighted primary challenge of Underlay CRNs. ABC is a simple, population-based optimization algorithm which attains global optimum solution by combining local search methods (Employed and Onlooker Bees) and global search methods (Scout Bees). The proposed two-phase relay selection and power allocation algorithm aims to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the destination while operating in an underlying mode. The proposed algorithm has less computational complexity and its performance is verified through simulation results for a different number of potential relays, different interference threshold levels and different transmit power thresholds for the selected relays. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=artificial%20bee%20colony" title="artificial bee colony">artificial bee colony</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=underlay%20spectrum%20sharing" title=" underlay spectrum sharing"> underlay spectrum sharing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cognitive%20radio%20networks" title=" cognitive radio networks"> cognitive radio networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=amplify-and-forward" title=" amplify-and-forward"> amplify-and-forward</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13364/artificial-bee-colony-optimization-for-snr-maximization-through-relay-selection-in-underlay-cognitive-radio-networks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13364.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">581</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">24</span> Synthesis, Characterization and Photocatalytic Performance of Visible Light Induced Materials</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Muneer">M. The prepared materials were characterized by standard analytical techniques, i.e., XRD, SEM, EDX, UV–vis Spectroscopy and FTIR. The (XRD) analysis showed that the obtained particles are present in partial crystalline nature and exhibit no other impurity phase. The EDX and (SEM) images depicted that metals have been successfully loaded on the surface of the semiconductor. FTIR showed an additional absorption band at 910 cm−1, characteristic of absorption band indicating the incorporation of dopant into the lattice in addition to a broad and strong absorption band in the region of 410–580 cm−1 due to metal–O stretching. The UV–vis absorption spectra of synthesized particles indicate that the doping of metals into the lattice shift the absorption band towards the visible region. Thermal analysis, measurement of the synthesized sample showed that the thermal stability of pure semiconducting material is decreased due to increase in dopant concentration. The photocatalytic activity of the synthesized particles was studied by measuring the change in concentration of three different chromophoric dyes as a function of irradiation time. The photocatalytic activity of doped materials were found to increase with increase in dopant concentration. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=photocatalysis" title="photocatalysis">photocatalysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metal%20doped%20semicondcutors" title=" metal doped semicondcutors"> metal doped semicondcutors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dye%20degradation" title=" dye degradation"> dye degradation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=visible%20light%20active%20materials" title=" visible light active materials"> visible light active materials</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/35470/synthesis-characterization-and-photocatalytic-performance-of-visible-light-induced-materials" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/35470.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">434</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23</span> Characterization of Carbon/Polyamide 6,6 (C/PA66) Composite Material for Dry and Wet Conditions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tariq%20%20Bashir">Tariq Bashir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Waseem%20Tahir"> Muhammad Waseem Tahir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ulf%20Stigh"> Ulf Stigh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Behnaz%20%20Baghaie"> Behnaz Baghaie</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mikael%20Skrifvars"> Mikael Skrifvars</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Absorption of moisture may cause many problems in a composite material, such as delamination, degradation of the strength and increase in the weight. For small coupons, the increase in weight may be negligible, however, for large structures increase in weight due to moisture absorption may be quite significant. Polyamides (PA6, PA66) absorb more moisture as compared to other thermoplastics. There are many parameters which affect the moisture absorption of the composite material for example temperature, pressure, type of matrix and fibers, thickness of the material and relative humidity (RH) etc. So, it is utmost important to investigate the impact of moisture on PA66 based composites which can be done by characterizing the mechanical properties of composite materials both for dry and wet conditions. In this study, laminates of C/PA66 composite are manufactured by first heating the commingled material in conventional oven at a temperature of 220 °C followed by pressing in a manual hot press for 20 minutes with preheated platen at 220 °C. To observe the moisture absorption of the composite, coupons of the material were placed in a climate chamber at five different conditions 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% RH for 24 hours. Five specimens were used for each condition. These coupons were weighed before placing in the climate chamber and just after removing from the chamber to observe the moisture absorption of the material. The mechanical characterization such as tensile strength, flexural modulus, impact strength and DMTA of C/PA66 material are performed at 0, 50 and 100 % RH. The work is going on for the testing of the material and results will be presented in full paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carbon%2FPolyamide%2066%20composites" title="Carbon/Polyamide 66 composites">Carbon/Polyamide 66 composites</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=structural%20composites" title=" structural composites"> structural composites</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechanical%20characterizations" title=" mechanical characterizations"> mechanical characterizations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wet%20and%20dry%20conditions" title=" wet and dry conditions"> wet and dry conditions</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/79357/characterization-of-carbonpolyamide-66-cpa66-composite-material-for-dry-and-wet-conditions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/79357.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">234</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">22</span> Optimization of Ultrasound Assisted Extraction and Characterization of Functional Properties of Dietary Fiber from Oat Cultivar S2000</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Suhail%20Ibrahim">Muhammad Suhail Ibrahim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Nadeem"> Muhammad Nadeem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Khalid"> Waseem Khalid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ammara%20Ainee"> Ammara Ainee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Taleeha%20Roheen"> Taleeha Roheen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sadaf%20Javaria"> Sadaf Javaria</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aftab%20Ahmed"> Aftab Ahmed</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hira%20Fatima"> Hira Fatima</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mian%20Nadeem%20Riaz"> Mian Nadeem Riaz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Zubair%20Khalid"> Muhammad Zubair Khalid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Isam%20A.%20Mohamed%20Ahmed%20J"> Isam A. Extraction (variables time, temperature and amplitude) was optimized by using response surface methodology (RSM) conducted by Box Behnken Design (BBD). The effect of time, temperature and amplitude were studied at three levels. It was observed that time and temperature exerted more impact on extraction efficiency as compared to amplitude. The highest yield of total dietary fiber (TDF), soluble dietary fiber (SDF) and In-soluble dietary fiber (IDF) fractions were observed under ultrasound processing for 20 min at 40 ◦C with 80% amplitude. Characterization of extracted dietary fiber showed that it had better crystallinity, thermal properties and good fibrous structure. It also showed better functional properties as compared to traditionally extracted dietary fiber. Furthermore, dietary fibers from oats may offer high-value utilization and the expansion of comprehensive utilization in functional food and nutraceutical development. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=extraction" title="extraction">extraction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ultrasonication" title=" ultrasonication"> ultrasonication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=response%20surface%20methodology" title=" response surface methodology"> response surface methodology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=box%20behnken%20design" title=" box behnken design"> box behnken design</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/187067/optimization-of-ultrasound-assisted-extraction-and-characterization-of-functional-properties-of-dietary-fiber-from-oat-cultivar-s2000" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/187067.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">50</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21</span> The Origin Variability of the Obturator Artery</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Halimah%20Al%20Hifzi">Halimah Al Hifzi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Al-Talalwah"> Waseem Al-Talalwah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shorok%20Al%20Dorazi"> Shorok Al Dorazi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hassan%20Al%20Mousa"> Hassan Al Mousa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zainab%20Al-Hashim"> Zainab Al-Hashim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Roger%20Soames"> Roger Soames</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The obturator artery is one branches of anterior division of the internal iliac artery. It passes on the lateral wall of pelvis to escape into thigh region via obturator foremen. Based on previous research studies, it found to be extremely variable in origin and course. It may arise from internal or external iliac artery. The current study includes 82 dissected specimens to investigate the origin of the obturator artery and explain the clinical importance. The obturator artery arises from the internal iliac artery in 75% either from its anterior or posterior division in 46.9% or 25% respectively. Further, it arises neither from the anterior nor posterior division of the internal iliac artery but it arises between them in 3.1%. In 25%, the obturator artery arises from the external iliac artery. In case of aneurysmectomy of posterior division, carries a high risk of insufficient of vascular supply for demand structures such as proximal adductors attachment and hip joint. Therefore, vascular surgeons have to pay attention to the posterior division being an origin of the obturator artery beside its usual three classical branches: superior gluteal, iliolumbar and lateral sacral arteries. Further, the obturator artery arising from the external iliac system is in great dangerous of laceration in case of anterior pelvic fracture. Therefore, it may lead to haemorrhagic shock threatening life. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=obturator%20artery" title="obturator artery">obturator artery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=external%20iliac" title=" external iliac"> external iliac</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=internal%20iliac%20artery" title=" internal iliac artery"> internal iliac artery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anterior%20division" title=" anterior division"> anterior division</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=posterior%20division" title=" posterior division"> posterior division</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=superior%20gluteal" title=" superior gluteal"> superior gluteal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=iliolumbar%20and%20lateral%20sacral" title=" iliolumbar and lateral sacral"> iliolumbar and lateral sacral</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pubic%20fracture" title=" pubic fracture"> pubic fracture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aneurysm" title=" aneurysm"> aneurysm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=shock" title=" shock"> shock</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31813/the-origin-variability-of-the-obturator-artery" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31813.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">357</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20</span> The Variation of the Inferior Gluteal Artery Origin</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Al%20Talalwah">Waseem Al Talalwah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shorok%20Al%20Dorazi"> Shorok Al Dorazi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Roger%20Soames"> Roger Soames</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The inferior gluteal artery is a prominent branch of the anterior trunk of internal iliac artery. Knowing the origin of the inferior gluteal artery may help the surgeons to avoid iatrogenic sciatic neuropathy or gluteal claudication due to prolonged ligation in pelvic procedures such as removing prostate or of uterine fibroid. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inferior%20gluteal%20artery" title="inferior gluteal artery">inferior gluteal artery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=internal%20pudendal" title=" internal pudendal"> internal pudendal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sciatic%20nerve" title=" sciatic nerve"> sciatic nerve</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sciatic%20artery" title=" sciatic artery"> sciatic artery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gluteal%20claudication" title=" gluteal claudication"> gluteal claudication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sciatic%20neuopathy" title=" sciatic neuopathy"> sciatic neuopathy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/24857/the-variation-of-the-inferior-gluteal-artery-origin-in-united-kingdom-population" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/24857.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">678</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17</span> Anatomical Characteristics of Superior Gluteal Artery</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nawaf%20Al-Kharashi">Nawaf Al-Kharashi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Al-Talalwah"> Waseem Al-Talalwah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shorok%20Al%20Dorazi"> Shorok Al Dorazi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Roger%20Soames"> Roger Soames</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Superior gluteal artery is one of the largest branches of posterior division of the internal iliac artery. It passes between the lumbosacral and first sacral root to escape from the pelvic cavity through the grater sciatic foramen just above the piriformis. The current study includes 41 cadaver investigates the origin and branch of the superior gluteal artery and clarify the clinical significance. In present study, the superior gluteal artery arises from the posterior division of the internal iliac artery directly in 82.5% whereas it arises indirectly as from the sciatic artery in 15.9%. However, it is congenital absence in 1.6% which is compensated by sciatic artery. The sciatic nerve gains vascular supply from superior gluteal artery in two ways either during its course or giving lateral sacral artery in 27% and lumbar branches in 1.6%. It also supplies the adductors group and iliacus via giving obturator artery in 14.3% and in 1.6% respectively. The superior gluteal artery usually passes between lumbosacral trunk and first sacral root in 82.5% whereas it does not passes the sciatic roots as it arises behind them in 15.9%. With a variability of the superior gluteal artery origin, there is a variability of sciatic nerve roots supply. Further, the superior gluteal artery arising from sciatic artery behind the sciatic roots carries a high risk of intra-pelvic bleeding in case of posterior pelvic fracture. Prolonged ligation of the superior gluteal artery which gives lateral sacral artery may result in sciatic neuropathy. Therefore, surgeons have to be aware of the superior gluteal artery variation in origin, course and branches to reduce the iatrogenic faults. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=internal%20pudendal%20artery" title="internal pudendal artery">internal pudendal artery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inferior%20gluteal%20artery" title=" inferior gluteal artery"> inferior gluteal artery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=superior%20gluteal%20artery" title=" superior gluteal artery"> superior gluteal artery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=internal%20iliac%20artery.%20sciatic%20neuropathy" title=" internal iliac artery. sciatic neuropathy"> internal iliac artery. sciatic neuropathy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sciatic%20nerve" title=" sciatic nerve"> sciatic nerve</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30966/anatomical-characteristics-of-superior-gluteal-artery" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30966.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">351</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">16</span> A Supervised Learning Data Mining Approach for Object Recognition and Classification in High Resolution Satellite Data</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mais%20Nijim">Mais Nijim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rama%20Devi%20Chennuboyina"> Rama Devi Chennuboyina</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Al%20Aqqad"> Waseem Al Aqqad</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Advances in spatial and spectral resolution of satellite images have led to tremendous growth in large image databases. The data we acquire through satellites, radars and sensors consists of important geographical information that can be used for remote sensing applications such as region planning, disaster management. Spatial data classification and object recognition are important tasks for many applications. However, classifying objects and identifying them manually from images is a difficult task. Object recognition is often considered as a classification problem, this task can be performed using machine-learning techniques. Despite of many machine-learning algorithms, the classification is done using supervised classifiers such as Support Vector Machines (SVM) as the area of interest is known. We proposed a classification method, which considers neighboring pixels in a region for feature extraction and it evaluates classifications precisely according to neighboring classes for semantic interpretation of region of interest (ROI). A dataset has been created for training and testing purpose; we generated the attributes by considering pixel intensity values and mean values of reflectance. We demonstrated the benefits of using knowledge discovery and data-mining techniques, which can be on image data for accurate information extraction and classification from high spatial resolution remote sensing imagery. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=remote%20sensing" title="remote sensing">remote sensing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=object%20recognition" title=" object recognition"> object recognition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=classification" title=" classification"> classification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20mining" title=" data mining"> data mining</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=waterbody%20identification" title=" waterbody identification"> waterbody identification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=feature%20extraction" title=" feature extraction"> feature extraction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/38236/a-supervised-learning-data-mining-approach-for-object-recognition-and-classification-in-high-resolution-satellite-data" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/38236.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">340</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">15</span> Ecological Investigations for the Control of Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae) in the Selected Study Districts of Punjab, Pakistan</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Sohail%20Sajid">Muhammad Sohail Sajid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Abdullah%20Malik"> Muhammad Abdullah Malik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20Saqib"> Muhammad Saqib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Faiz%20Ahmad%20Raza"> Faiz Ahmad Raza</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Akram"> Waseem Akram</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Aedes (Ae.) aegypti, the vector of pathogens of one health significance, has gained currency over the last decade. The present study reports the prevalence of A. aegypti larvae in indoor and outdoor niches from the three districts of different agro-geo-climatic zones of Punjab, including Chakwal (north), Faisalabad (central), and Dera Ghazi Khan (south). Mosquito larvae were collected, preserved, and transferred for identification. The relevant data were collected on a predesigned questionnaire. Stegomyia indices, including House Index (HI), Breteau Index (BI), and Container Index (CI), were calculated. The association of different breeding containers with the prevalence of Ae. aegypti larvae were estimated through Chi-square analysis. The highest Stegomyia indices were calculated in Chakwal (HI = 46.61%, BI = 91.67%, and CI = 15.28%) as compared to Faisalabad (HI = 34.11%, BI = 68.75% and, CI = 13.04%) and DG Khan (HI = 28.39%, BI = 68.23% and, CI = 11.29%), respectively. Irrespective of the geographical area, earthen jars, water tanks, and tree holes were found to be significantly associated (p < 0.05) with the abundance of Ae. aegypti larvae. However, tires and plastic bottles in Faisalabad and DG Khan while flower tubs and plastic buckets in Faisalabad and Chakwal were found to be significantly associated (p < 0.05) with the larval abundance. The results are a maiden attempt to correlate the magnitude of Ae. aegypti larvae in various microclimatic niches of Punjab, Pakistan, which might help in policy-making for preventive management of the menace. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aedes%20aegypti" title="Aedes aegypti">Aedes aegypti</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ecology" title=" ecology"> ecology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=breeding%20habitats" title=" breeding habitats"> breeding habitats</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Stegomyia%20indices" title=" Stegomyia indices"> Stegomyia indices</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=breeding%20containers" title=" breeding containers"> breeding containers</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/155110/ecological-investigations-for-the-control-of-aedes-aegypti-diptera-culicidae-in-the-selected-study-districts-of-punjab-pakistan" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/155110.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">120</span> </span> </div> </div> <ul class="pagination"> <li class="page-item disabled"><span class="page-link">&lsaquo;</span></li> <li class="page-item active"><span class="page-link">1</span></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Al-Talalwah&amp;page=2">2</a></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Waseem%20Al-Talalwah&amp;page=2" rel="next">&rsaquo;</a></li> </ul> </div> </main> <footer> <div id="infolinks" class="pt-3 pb-2"> <div class="container"> <div style="background-color:#f5f5f5;" class="p-3"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> About <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">About Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support#legal-information">Legal</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/WASET-16th-foundational-anniversary.pdf">WASET celebrates its 16th foundational anniversary</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Account <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile">My Account</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Explore <li><a href="https://waset.org/disciplines">Disciplines</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conferences">Conferences</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conference-programs">Conference Program</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/committees">Committees</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Publications</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Research <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts">Abstracts</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Periodicals</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/archive">Archive</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Open Science <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Philosophy.pdf">Open Science Philosophy</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Award.pdf">Open Science Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Society-Open-Science-and-Open-Innovation.pdf">Open Innovation</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Postdoctoral-Fellowship-Award.pdf">Postdoctoral Fellowship Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Scholarly-Research-Review.pdf">Scholarly Research Review</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Support <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">Support</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Report Abuse</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="container text-center"> <hr style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:.3rem;"> <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" target="_blank" class="text-muted small">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License</a> <div id="copy" class="mt-2">&copy;
