Based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), we used the Davis’s scale (1989) which contains two item scales for Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use. The TAM represents an important theoretical contribution toward understanding how users come to accept and use technology. This model suggests that when people are presented with a new technology, a number of variables influence their decision about how and when they will use it. The results showed that participants accept more technology because flexibility, clarity, enhancing the experience, enjoying, facility, and useful. Also, results showed that younger participants accept more technology than others. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20technology" title="new technology">new technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perceived%20usefulness" title=" perceived usefulness"> perceived usefulness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perceived%20ease%20of%20use" title=" perceived ease of use"> perceived ease of use</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20acceptance%20model" title=" technology acceptance model"> technology acceptance model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/61593/factors-influencing-university-students-acceptance-of-new-technology" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/61593.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">321</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23452</span> Explaining E-Learning Systems Usage in Higher Education Institutions: UTAUT Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muneer%20Abbad">Muneer Abbad</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This research explains the e-learning usage in a university in Jordan. Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model has been used as a base model to explain the usage. UTAUT is a model of individual acceptance that is compiled mainly from different models of technology acceptance. This research is the initial part from full explanations of the users' acceptance model that use Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method to explain the users' acceptance of the e-learning systems based on UTAUT model. In this part data has been collected and prepared for further analysis. The main factors of UTAUT model has been tested as different factors using exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The second phase will be confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and SEM to explain the users' acceptance of e-learning systems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-learning" title="e-learning">e-learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=moodle" title=" moodle"> moodle</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adoption" title=" adoption"> adoption</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Unified%20Theory%20of%20Acceptance%20and%20Use%20of%20Technology%20%28UTAUT%29" title=" Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT)"> Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58239/explaining-e-learning-systems-usage-in-higher-education-institutions-utaut-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58239.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">407</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23451</span> Analysis of the Impact of NVivo and EndNote on Academic Research Productivity</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sujit%20K.%20Basak">Sujit K. E-Assessment provides many advantages to the users especially the flexibility in teaching and learning. The e-assessment system has the capability to improve its quality of delivering education. However, there still exists a drawback in terms of security which limits the user acceptance of the online learning system. Even though there are studies providing solutions for identified security threats in e-learning usage, there is no particular model which addresses the factors that influences the acceptance of e-assessment system by lecturers from security perspective. The aim of this study is to explore security aspects of e-assessment in regard to the acceptance of the technology. As a result a conceptual model of secure acceptance of e-assessment is proposed. Both human and security factors are considered in formulation of this conceptual model. In order to increase understanding of critical issues related to the subject of this study, interpretive approach involving convergent mixed method research method is proposed to be used to execute the research. This study will be useful in providing more insightful understanding regarding the factors that influence the user acceptance of e-assessment system from security perspective. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=secure%20technology%20acceptance" title="secure technology acceptance">secure technology acceptance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-assessment%20security" title=" e-assessment security"> e-assessment security</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-assessment" title=" e-assessment"> e-assessment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=education%20technology" title=" education technology"> education technology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/26451/the-acceptance-of-e-assessment-considering-security-perspective-work-in-progress" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/26451.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">459</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23449</span> Using the Technology Acceptance Model to Examine Seniors’ Attitudes toward Facebook</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chien-Jen%20Liu">Chien-Jen Liu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shu%20Ching%20Yang"> Shu Ching Yang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Using the technology acceptance model (TAM), this study examined the external variables of technological complexity (TC) to acquire a better understanding of the factors that influence the acceptance of computer application courses by learners at Active Aging Universities. After the learners in this study had completed a 27-hour Facebook course, 44 learners responded to a modified TAM survey. Data were collected to examine the path relationships among the variables that influence the acceptance of Facebook-mediated community learning. The partial least squares (PLS) method was used to test the measurement and the structural model. The study results demonstrated that attitudes toward Facebook use directly influence behavioral intentions (BI) with respect to Facebook use, evincing a high prediction rate of 58.3%. In addition to the perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) measures that are proposed in the TAM, other external variables, such as TC, also indirectly influence BI. These four variables can explain 88% of the variance in BI and demonstrate a high level of predictive ability. Finally, limitations of this investigation and implications for further research are discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20acceptance%20model%20%28TAM%29" title="technology acceptance model (TAM)">technology acceptance model (TAM)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technological%20complexity" title=" technological complexity"> technological complexity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20least%20squares%20%28PLS%29" title=" partial least squares (PLS)"> partial least squares (PLS)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perceived%20usefulness" title=" perceived usefulness"> perceived usefulness</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6249/using-the-technology-acceptance-model-to-examine-seniors-attitudes-toward-facebook" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6249.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">346</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23448</span> The Effects of Consumer Inertia and Emotions on New Technology Acceptance</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chyi%20Jaw">Chyi Jaw</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Prior literature on innovation diffusion or acceptance has almost exclusively concentrated on consumers’ positive attitudes and behaviors for new products/services. Consumers’ negative attitudes or behaviors to innovations have received relatively little marketing attention, but it happens frequently in practice. This study discusses consumer psychological factors when they try to learn or use new technologies. According to recent research, technological innovation acceptance has been considered as a dynamic or mediated process. This research argues that consumers can experience inertia and emotions in the initial use of new technologies. However, given such consumer psychology, the argument can be made as to whether the inclusion of consumer inertia (routine seeking and cognitive rigidity) and emotions increases the predictive power of new technology acceptance model. As data from the empirical study find, the process is potentially consumer emotion changing (independent of performance benefits) because of technology complexity and consumer inertia, and impact innovative technology use significantly. Finally, the study presents the superior predictability of the hypothesized model, which let managers can better predict and influence the successful diffusion of complex technological innovations. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cognitive%20rigidity" title="cognitive rigidity">cognitive rigidity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=consumer%20emotions" title=" consumer emotions"> consumer emotions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20technology%20acceptance" title=" new technology acceptance"> new technology acceptance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=routine%20seeking" title=" routine seeking"> routine seeking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20complexity" title=" technology complexity"> technology complexity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12006/the-effects-of-consumer-inertia-and-emotions-on-new-technology-acceptance" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12006.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">296</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23447</span> Bridging the Gap through New Media Technology Acceptance: Exploring Chinese Family Business Culture</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Farzana%20Sharmin">Farzana Sharmin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Tipu%20Sultan"> Mohammad Tipu Sultan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Emerging new media technology such as social media and social networking sites have changed the family business dynamics in Eastern Asia. The family business trends in China has been developed at an exponential rate towards technology. In the last two decades, many of this family business has succeeded in becoming major players in the Chinese and world economy. But there are a very few availabilities of literature on Chinese context regarding social media acceptance in terms of the family business. Therefore, this study has tried to cover the gap between culture and new media technology to understand the attitude of Chinese young entrepreneurs’ towards the family business. This paper focused on two cultural dimensions (collectivism, long-term orientation), which are adopted from Greet Hofstede’s. Additionally perceived usefulness and ease of use adopted from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to explore the actual behavior of technology acceptance for the family business. A quantitative survey method (n=275) used to collect data Chinese family business owners' in Shanghai. The inferential statistical analysis was applied to extract trait factors, and verification of the model, respectively. The research results found that using social media for family business promotion has highly influenced by cultural values (collectivism and long-term orientation). The theoretical contribution of this research may also assist policymakers and practitioners of other developing countries to advertise and promote the family business through social media. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=China" title="China">China</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cultural%20dimensions" title=" cultural dimensions"> cultural dimensions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=family%20business" title=" family business"> family business</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20acceptance%20model" title=" technology acceptance model"> technology acceptance model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=TAM" title=" TAM"> TAM</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/110742/bridging-the-gap-through-new-media-technology-acceptance-exploring-chinese-family-business-culture" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/110742.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">147</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23446</span> Solar Energy Technology Adoption; A Vignette Study for the Up-Scale Residential Sector in Egypt</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mazen%20Zaki">Mazen Zaki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sherwat%20E.%20Ibrahim"> Sherwat E. The factors of technology readiness predisposition that predict acceptance and positive attitudes towards wearable use in the workplace were examined. A quantitative research approach was used. The population consisted of 8 081 South African Department of Employment and Labour employees (DEL). Census sampling was used, and questionnaires to collect data were sent electronically to all 8 081 employees, 351 questionnaires were received back. The measuring instrument called the Technology Readiness and Acceptance Model (TRAM) was used in this study. Four hypotheses were formulated to investigate the relationship between readiness and acceptance of wearables in the workplace. The results found consistent predictions of technology acceptance (TA) by eagerness, optimism, and discomfort in the technology readiness (TR) scales. The TR scales of optimism and eagerness were consistent positive predictors of the TA scales, while discomfort proved to be a negative predictor for two of the three TA scales. Insecurity was found not to be a predictor of TA. It was recommended that the digital transformation policy of the DEL should be revised. Wearables in the workplace should be embraced from the viewpoint of convenience, automation, and seamless integration with the DEL information systems. The empirical contribution of this study can be seen in the fact that positive attitude emerged as a factor that extends the TRAM. In this study, positive attitude is identified as a new dimension to the TRAM not found in the original TA model and subsequent studies of the TRAM. Furthermore, this study found that Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Behavioural Intention to Use and (BIU) could not be separated but formed one factor. The methodological contribution of this study can lead to the development of a Wearable Readiness and Acceptance Model (WRAM). To the best of our knowledge, no author has yet introduced the WRAM into the body of knowledge. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20acceptance%20model" title="technology acceptance model">technology acceptance model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20readiness%20index" title=" technology readiness index"> technology readiness index</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20readiness%20and%20acceptance%20model" title=" technology readiness and acceptance model"> technology readiness and acceptance model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wearable%20devices" title=" wearable devices"> wearable devices</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wearable%20technology" title=" wearable technology"> wearable technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fourth%20industrial%20revolution" title=" fourth industrial revolution"> fourth industrial revolution</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/170603/predicting-wearable-technology-readiness-in-a-south-african-government-department-exploring-the-influence-of-wearable-technology-acceptance-and-positive-attitude" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/170603.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">89</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23443</span> Transformative Leadership and Learning Management Systems Implementation: Leadership Practices in Instructional Design for Online Learning</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Felix%20Brito">Felix Brito</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> With the growth of online learning, several higher education institutions have attempted to incorporate technology in their curriculum. But in the pursuit of rapid economic growth, development is considered a top priority, while environmental protection is not given the same importance. Thus, a number of industries sited haphazardly have been established, leading to a deterioration of natural resources like water, soil and air. As a result, environmental pollution is tremendously increasing due to industrialization and mechanization that are serving to fulfill the demands of the population. With the increasing population, demand for bricks for construction work is also increasing, establishing the brick industry as a growing industry. Brick production requires two main resources; water as a source of life, and soil, as a living environment. Water and soil conservation is a critical issue in areas facing scarcity of water and soil resources. The purpose of this review paper is to provide a brief overview of the theoretical frameworks used in the analysis of the adoption and/or acceptance of soil and water conservation practices in the brick industry. Different frameworks and models have been used in the analysis of the adoption and/or acceptance of new technologies and practices; these include the technology acceptance model, motivational model, theory of reasoned action, innovation diffusion theory, theory of planned behavior, and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology. However, every model has some limitations, such as not considering environmental/contextual and economic factors that may affect the individual’s intention to perform a behavior. The paper concludes that in comparing other models, the UTAUT seems a better model for understanding the dynamics of acceptance and adoption of water and soil conservation practices. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=brick%20kiln" title="brick kiln">brick kiln</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=water%20conservation" title=" water conservation"> water conservation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=soil%20conservation" title=" soil conservation"> soil conservation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=unified%20theory%20of%20acceptance%20and%20use%20of%20technology" title=" unified theory of acceptance and use of technology"> unified theory of acceptance and use of technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20adoption" title=" technology adoption"> technology adoption</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/151904/technology-adoption-models-a-study-on-brick-kiln-firms-in-punjab" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/151904.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">104</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23439</span> Impact of Social Distancing on the Correlation Between Adults’ Participation in Learning and Acceptance of Technology</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liu%20Yi%20Hui">Liu Yi Hui</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has globally affected all aspects of life, with social distancing and quarantine orders causing turmoil and learning in community colleges being temporarily paused. In fact, this is the first time that adult education has faced such a severe challenge. It forces researchers to reflect on the impact of pandemics on adult education and ways to respond. Distance learning appears to be one of the pedagogical tools capable of dealing with interpersonal isolation and social distancing caused by the pandemic. This research aims to examine whether the impact of social distancing during COVID-19 will lead to increased acceptance of technology and, subsequently, an increase in adults ’ willingness to participate in distance learning. The hypothesis that social distancing and the desire to participate in distance learning affects learners’ tendency to accept technology is investigated. Teachers ’ participation in distance education and acceptance of technology are used as adjustment variables with the relationship to “social distancing,” “participation in distance learning,” and “acceptance of technology” of learners. A questionnaire survey was conducted over a period of twelve months for teachers and learners at all community colleges in Taiwan who enrolled in a basic unit course. Community colleges were separated using multi-stage cluster sampling, with their locations being metropolitan, non-urban, south, and east as criteria. Using the G*power software, 660 samples were selected and analyzed. The results show that through appropriate pedagogical strategies or teachers ’ own acceptance of technology, adult learners’ willingness to participate in distance learning could be influenced. A diverse model of participation can be developed, improving adult education institutions’ ability to plan curricula to be flexible to avoid the risk associated with epidemic diseases. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20distancing" title="social distancing">social distancing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adult%20learning" title=" adult learning"> adult learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=community%20colleges" title=" community colleges"> community colleges</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20acceptance%20model" title=" technology acceptance model"> technology acceptance model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/149995/impact-of-social-distancing-on-the-correlation-between-adults-participation-in-learning-and-acceptance-of-technology" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/149995.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">140</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23438</span> Positive Affect, Negative Affect, Organizational and Motivational Factor on the Acceptance of Big Data Technologies</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sook%20Ching%20Yee">Sook Ching Yee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Angela%20Siew%20Hoong%20Lee"> Angela Siew Hoong Lee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Big data technologies have become a trend to exploit business opportunities and provide valuable business insights through the analysis of big data. This paper focuses on TAM which depends on two factors: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, this theory are used to predict faculty members’ behavioural intentions towards using mobile learning technology. 279 faculty members in one Saudi university have responded to the online questionnaire. The findings have revealed that there is a statistically significant difference in both usefulness and ease of using m-learning factors. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=TAM%20theory" title="TAM theory">TAM theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mobile%20learning%20technology%20acceptance" title=" mobile learning technology acceptance"> mobile learning technology acceptance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=usefulness" title=" usefulness"> usefulness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ease%20of%20use" title=" ease of use"> ease of use</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34081/influences-driving-the-teachers-adoption-of-mobile-learning" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34081.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">524</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23434</span> An Empirical Study of Factors that Impact Government E-Services Acceptance by Citizens: Case Study from UAE</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Emad%20Bataineh">Emad Bataineh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sara%20Al-Mutawa"> Sara Al-Mutawa</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The primary focus of this study is to investigate and identify the perceptions of potential end users relating to factors which impact on e-services acceptance. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been adopted in this study as it can be extended when technologies are introduced. This research validates the developed TAM model and evaluates the variance of the outcome variable (acceptance of e-services). Five factors were adopted as determinants of acceptance of e-services: ease of use, security, trust, web skills, and language. The study was undertaken in the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in the UAE. A quantitative survey methodology was adopted in this study, which surveyed 466 customers who use the GDRFA e-services. The overall findings revealed that security language, web skills and support significantly affected ease of use and perceived usefulness. However, the trust doesn’t affect the ease of use. Further, ease of use significantly affects intention to use and perceived usefulness while in turn intention to use was influenced by perceived usefulness. This study offers an understanding of people’s adoption of e-government services with the help of established theories such as TAM and various factors that influence the e-government adoption with reference to UAE. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-government%20portal" title="e-government portal">e-government portal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-service" title=" e-service"> e-service</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=usability" title=" usability"> usability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=TAM%20model" title=" TAM model"> TAM model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23168/an-empirical-study-of-factors-that-impact-government-e-services-acceptance-by-citizens-case-study-from-uae" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23168.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">430</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23433</span> An Investigation of Influential Factors in Adopting the Cloud Computing in Saudi Arabia: An Application of Technology Acceptance Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shayem%20Saleh%20ALresheedi">Shayem Saleh ALresheedi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lu%20Song%20Feng"> Lu Song Feng</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdulaziz%20Abdulwahab%20M.%20Fatani"> Abdulaziz Abdulwahab M. Its development enables many applications to avail information online and on demand. It is becoming an essential element for businesses due to its ability to diminish the costs of IT infrastructure and is being adopted in Saudi Arabia. However, there exist many factors that affect its adoption. Several researchers in the field have ignored the study of the TAM model for identifying the relevant factors and their impact for adopting of cloud computing. This study focuses on evaluating the acceptability of cloud computing and analyzing its impacting factors using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) of technology adoption in Saudi Arabia. It suggests a model to examine the influential factors of the TAM model along with external factors of technical support in adapting the cloud computing. The proposed model has been tested through the use of multiple hypotheses based on calculation tools and collected data from customers through questionnaires. The findings of the study prove that the TAM model along with external factors can be applied in measuring the expected adoption of cloud computing. The study presents an investigation of influential factors and further recommendation in adopting cloud computing in Saudi Arabia. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title="cloud computing">cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acceptability" title=" acceptability"> acceptability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adoption" title=" adoption"> adoption</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=determinants" title=" determinants"> determinants</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83818/an-investigation-of-influential-factors-in-adopting-the-cloud-computing-in-saudi-arabia-an-application-of-technology-acceptance-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83818.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">193</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23432</span> Meta-analysis of Technology Acceptance for Mobile and Digital Libraries in Academic Settings</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nosheen%20Fatima%20Warraich">Nosheen Fatima Warraich</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> One of the most often used models in information system (IS) research is the technology acceptance model (TAM). This meta-analysis aims to measure the relationship between TAM variables, Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), and Perceived Usefulness (PU) with users’ attitudes and behavioral intention (BI) in mobile and digital libraries context. It also examines the relationship of external variables (information quality and system quality) with TAM variables (PEOU and PU) in digital libraries settings. This meta-analysis was performed through PRISMA-P guidelines. Four databases (Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scopus, and LISTA) were utilized for searching, and the search was conducted according to defined criteria. The findings of this study revealed a large effect size of PU and PEOU with BI. There was also a large effect size of PU and PEOU with attitude. A medium effect size was found between SysQ -> PU, InfoQ-> PU, and SysQ -> PEOU. However, there was a small effect size between InfoQ and PEOU. It fills the literature gap and also confirms that TAM is a valid model for the acceptance and use of technology in mobile and digital libraries context. Thus, its findings would be helpful for developers and designers in designing and developing mobile library apps. It will also be beneficial for library authorities and system librarians in designing and developing digital libraries in academic settings. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technology%20acceptance%20model%20%28tam%29" title="technology acceptance model (tam)">technology acceptance model (tam)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perceived%20ease%20of%20use" title=" perceived ease of use"> perceived ease of use</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perceived%20usefulness" title=" perceived usefulness"> perceived usefulness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=information%20quality" title=" information quality"> information quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=system%20quality" title=" system quality"> system quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=meta-analysis" title=" meta-analysis"> meta-analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=systematic%20review" title=" systematic review"> systematic review</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=digital%20libraries" title=" digital libraries"> digital libraries</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=and%20mobile%20library%20apps." title=" and mobile library apps."> and mobile library apps.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/169577/meta-analysis-of-technology-acceptance-for-mobile-and-digital-libraries-in-academic-settings" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/169577.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">74</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23431</span> 3D Multimedia Model for Educational Design Engineering</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohanaad%20Talal%20Shakir">Mohanaad Talal Shakir</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper tries to propose educational design by using multimedia technology for Engineering of computer Technology, Alma'ref University College in Iraq. Many countries introduced smart national identity card (SNIC) with various applications such as health information application embedded inside it. However, the degree to which citizens accept and use some of the embedded applications in smart national identity remains unknown to many governments and application providers as well. Moreover, the previous studies revealed that the factors of trust, perceived risk, privacy concern and perceived credibility need to be incorporated into more comprehensive models such as extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology known as UTAUT2. UTAUT2 is a mainly widespread and leading theory existing in the information system literature up to now. This research identifies factors affecting the citizens’ behavioural intention to use health information application embedded in SNIC and extends better understanding on the relevant factors that the government and the application providers would need to consider in predicting citizens’ new technology acceptance in the future. We propose a conceptual framework by combining the UTAUT2 and Privacy Calculus Model constructs and also adding perceived credibility as a new variable. The proposed framework may provide assistance to any government planning, decision, and policy makers involving e-government projects. The empirical study may be conducted in the future to provide proof and empirically validate this I-P framework. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=unified%20theory%20of%20acceptance%20and%20use%20of%20technology%20%28UTAUT%29%20model" title="unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model">unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=UTAUT2%20model" title=" UTAUT2 model"> UTAUT2 model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=smart%20national%20identity%20card%20%28SNIC%29" title=" smart national identity card (SNIC)"> smart national identity card (SNIC)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=health%20information%20application" title=" health information application"> health information application</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=privacy%20calculus%20model%20%28PCM%29" title=" privacy calculus model (PCM)"> privacy calculus model (PCM)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/10398/acceptance-of-health-information-application-in-smart-national-identity-card-snic-using-a-new-i-p-framework" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/10398.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">468</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23429</span> An Exploratory Study in Nursing Education: Factors Influencing Nursing Students’ Acceptance of Mobile Learning </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=R.%20Abdulrahman">R. This relatively new technology can help to encourage the development of in learning and to aid knowledge transfer a number of areas, by familiarizing students with innovative information and communications technologies (ICT). M-learning plays a substantial role in the deployment of learning methods for nursing students by using the Internet and portable devices to access learning resources ‘anytime and anywhere’. However, acceptance of m-learning by students is critical to the successful use of m-learning systems. Thus, there is a need to study the factors that influence student’s intention to use m-learning. This paper addresses this issue. It outlines the outcomes of a study that evaluates the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model as applied to the subject of user acceptance in relation to m-learning activity in nurse education. The model integrates the significant components across eight prominent user acceptance models. Therefore, a standard measure is introduced with core determinants of user behavioural intention. The research model extends the UTAUT in the context of m-learning acceptance by modifying and adding individual innovativeness (II) and quality of service (QoS) to the original structure of UTAUT. The paper goes on to add the factors of previous experience (of using mobile devices in similar applications) and the nursing students’ readiness (to use the technology) to influence their behavioural intentions to use m-learning. This study uses a technique called ‘convenience sampling’ which involves student volunteers as participants in order to collect numerical data. A quantitative method of data collection was selected and involves an online survey using a questionnaire form. This form contains 33 questions to measure the six constructs, using a 5-point Likert scale. A total of 42 respondents participated, all from the Nursing Institute at the Armed Forces Hospital in Saudi Arabia. The gathered data were then tested using a research model that employs the structural equation modelling (SEM), including confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results of the CFA show that the UTAUT model has the ability to predict student behavioural intention and to adapt m-learning activity to the specific learning activities. It also demonstrates satisfactory, dependable and valid scales of the model constructs. This suggests further analysis to confirm the model as a valuable instrument in order to evaluate the user acceptance of m-learning activity. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mobile%20learning" title="mobile learning">mobile learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nursing%20institute%20students%E2%80%99%20acceptance%20of%20m-learning%20activity%20in%20Saudi%20Arabia" title=" nursing institute students’ acceptance of m-learning activity in Saudi Arabia"> nursing institute students’ acceptance of m-learning activity in Saudi Arabia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=unified%20theory%20of%20acceptance%20and%20use%20of%20technology%20model%20%28UTAUT%29" title=" unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model (UTAUT)"> unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model (UTAUT)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=structural%20equation%20modelling%20%28SEM%29" title=" structural equation modelling (SEM)"> structural equation modelling (SEM)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58638/an-exploratory-study-in-nursing-education-factors-influencing-nursing-students-acceptance-of-mobile-learning" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58638.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">188</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23428</span> A Pre-Assessment Questionnaire to Identify Healthcare Professionals’ Perception on Information Technology Implementation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Y.%20Atilgan%20%C5%9Eeng%C3%BCl">Y. As part of the FATİH Project that is aimed to complete in 2016, it is intended to initially deliver a tablet PC to every student and teacher. We aimed to detect grade 9 students’ acceptance perception level of tablet PCs during the 2014 – 2015 school year in this study where quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques were used in combination. The study group consisted of 228 grade 9 students of high schools in Istanbul, Ankara, Zonguldak and Bursa in Turkey. Study data was obtained through the “Tablet PC Acceptance Scale” and structured interview forms. Given the results obtained from the study, the mean overall score was 70.08 (3.72 out of 5), which was derived from all the dimensions of the acceptance perception level of tablet PCs in the students’ view. Findings of the study indicate that mean scores for students’ acceptance perception level of tablet PCs did not differ by their gender and their level of use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Focus group interviews with students suggest that students did not effectively and actively use the tablet PCs; instead they used the interactive board during classes. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acceptance%20of%20technology" title="acceptance of technology">acceptance of technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=student%E2%80%99s%20view" title=" student’s view"> student’s view</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FATIH%20project" title=" FATIH project"> FATIH project</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tablet%20PCs" title=" tablet PCs"> tablet PCs</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40883/investigating-students-acceptance-perception-level-of-tablet-pcs-by-a-variety-of-variables" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40883.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">293</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23426</span> The Factors Influencing Consumer Intentions to Use Internet Banking and Apps: A Case of Banks in Cambodia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tithdanin%20Chav">Tithdanin Chav</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Phichhang%20Ou"> Phichhang Ou</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The study is about the e-banking consumer behavior of five major banks in Cambodia. The theoretical operating characteristic (OC) curves are widely used when dealing with acceptance sampling. In this paper, we carry out Monte Carlo simulation studies to compare numerically the empirical OC curves derived from the empirical results to the customary theoretical OC curves. We analyze various possible scenarios in such a way that the differences between the empirical and theoretical curves can be observed under different situations. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single-sampling%20plan" title="single-sampling plan">single-sampling plan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lot" title=" lot"> lot</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Monte%20Carlo%20simulation" title=" Monte Carlo simulation"> Monte Carlo simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quality%20control" title=" quality control"> quality control</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19429/a-comparison-between-empirical-and-theoretical-oc-curves-related-to-acceptance-sampling-for-attributes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19429.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">466</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23424</span> A Methodology for the Identification of Technological Gaps and the Measurement of the Level of Technological Acceptance in the Rural Sector in Colombia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anyi%20Katherine%20Garzon%20Robles">Anyi Katherine Garzon Robles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luis%20Carlos%20Gomez%20Florez"> Luis Carlos Gomez Florez</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Since the advent of the Internet, the use of Information Technologies (IT) has increased exponentially. The field of informatics and telecommunications has put on the table countless possibilities for the development of different socio-economic activities, promoting a change of social paradigm and the emergence of the so-called information and knowledge society. For more than a decade, the Colombian government has been working on the incorporation of IT into the public sector through an e-government strategy. However, to date, many technological gaps has not yet been identified in the country to our knowledge, especially in rural areas and far from large cities, where factors such as low investment and the expansion of the armed conflict have led to economic and technological stagnation. This paper presents the research results obtained from the execution of a research project, which was approach from a qualitative approach and a methodological design of a participatory action research type. This design consists of nine fundamental stages divided into four work cycles. For which different strategies for data collection and analysis were established. From which, a methodology was obtained for the identification of technological gaps and the measurement of the level of technological acceptance in the rural sector, based on the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) model, as a previous activity to the development of IT solutions framed in the e-government strategy in Colombia. The result of this research work represents a contribution from academia for the improvement of the country's technological development and a guide for the proper planning of IT solutions aimed at promoting a close relationship between government and citizens. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=E-government"
