It is expected that the site will continue this legacy as a world-class science education facility. </p> <p>Beginning on August 14, the site will transition to new site management and will be temporarily closed to the public. The site will reopen to the public when on-site support is available, such as after a potential Arecibo Center for STEM Education and Research (ACSER) award and associated start-up period. </p> <p>Management of the <a href="https://info.nrao.edu/do/spectrum-management/prcz/prcz">Puerto Rico Coordination Zone</a> (PRCZ) has transitioned to the U.S. National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO).
