effondrée</figcaption></figure> <p>On 6 March 2017, the Amsteg – Bristen road collapsed at practically the same location where a rock was dynamited in April 2003.<br /> The road has to be repaired and secured which will certainly take several weeks.<br /> The village of Bristen is thus completely isolated. As in 2003, the only connections between Bristen and the valley are the trails and the helicopter.<br /> The former funicular of Amsteg power station will therefore resume service to bring people into the valley.<br /> In 2003, Garaventa had completely renovated and equipped the 1918 funicular to carry passengers.<br /> After the reopening of the road in mid-June 2003, the funicular was finally stopped.<br /> This year the funicular will be awakened, checked and restarted from 15 March 2017 until the Amsteg – Bristen road is reopened again.</p> <p><strong><a href="https://www.funimag.com/funimag24/Amsteg01.htm" target="_blank">Link to Funimag article about 2003</a></strong></p> <h2><em>Le funiculaire de la centrale électrique d’Amsteg va reprendre du service</em></h2> <p><em>Le 6 mars 2017, la route Amsteg – Bristen s’est effondrée pratiquement au même endroit où un rocher avait été dynamité en avril 2003. </em><br /> <em>La route doit être réparée et sécurisée ce qui va prendre certainement plusieurs semaines.</em><br /> <em>Le village de Bristen se retrouve donc complètement isolé. Comme en 2003, les seules liaisons avec Bristen sont les sentiers pédestres et l’hélicoptère. </em><br /> <em>L’ancien funiculaire de la centrale électrique d’Amsteg va donc reprendre du service pour place à un télécabine.</em><br /> <em> Décidément, les funiculaires n’ont plus la côte en Autriche… après la disparition de celui du Vermuntbahn, du Golmerbahn dans le Voralberg, du Bergbahn de St. Johann et du Kandaharbahn à St Anton dans le Tyrol… sans oublier bien entendu la tragique disparition du Gletscherbahn 2 à Kaprun le 11/11/2000.</em><br /> <em> Les raisons de la fermeture du funiculaire et de son remplacement par un télécabine Doppelmayr 10-EUB:</em><br /> <em> – frais de maintenance supérieurs à 750.000 euros par an.</em><br /> <em> – pièces détachées à 60% propriétaires 2015” funicular</h2> <p>Great video of the travel of a 190-ton transformer built by ABB from Bad Honnef (Germany) to Tierfehd at the end of the Linthal in canton of Glarus (Switzerland).<br /> This transformer is part of the “Linthal 2015” project, a new underground pumped-storage power plant which will be used to pump water from Lake Limmern back up to Lake Mutt, which is 630 m higher.<br /> On the video, at 02:45, the transformer is put on the big underground funicular to be hoisted from Tierfehd to the underground power plant at Lake Limmern.</p> <p><em>Superbe vidéo du voyage d’un Funimag)</figcaption></figure> <p><em>Voici quelques nouvelles du Parc d’Attractions du Châtelard VS SA et plus particulièrement de son funiculaire emblématique.</em></p> <p><em>Le funiculaire Châtelard – Emosson (ou Châtelard – Les Montuires) a arrêté son exploitation depuis la fin de la saison 2012.</em><br /> <em> L’Office Fédéral des Transports (OFT) avait demandé au Parc d’Attractions du Châtelard VS SA de mettre son funiculaire aux normes de sécurité et d’accessibilité.</em><br /> <em> Déjà en 1995, le Parc avait rénové la machinerie, l’automatisation du funiculaire et assaini la voie et les ouvrages d’arts.</em><br /> <em> Les dernières exigences de l’OFT concernaient la construction de nouvelles voitures fermées et panoramiques avec plus de places assises, des portes s’ouvrant des deux côtés et des quais accessibles aux personnes à mobilité réduite.</em><br /> <em> Ces charges financières supplémentaires ne pouvaient pas être supportées par le Parc. L’OFT a accepté que l’exploitation du funiculaire soit continuée jusqu’à la fin de la saison 2012 mais après cela le Parc a dû fermer.</em><br /> <em> 7,5 millions de francs suisses étaient nécessaires pour répondre aux exigences de l’OFT.</em><br /> <em> La commune de Finhaut, sur laquelle se trouve le Parc d’Attractions du Châtelard, a été appelée en aide afin de rassembler la somme nécessaire à la rénovation.</em><br /> <em> Une augmentation du capital a été envisagée.</em><br /> <em> En juin 2014, la municipalité a accepté à la quasi unanimité de prendre le contrôle de Parc d’Attractions du Châtelard afin de rénover le funiculaire.</em></p> <p><em>Les travaux de rénovation porteront donc sur:</em></p> <p><em>Voie et parcours::</em><br /> <em> – le tracé avec sa pente maximum de 87% sera conservé ainsi le funiculaire sera toujours<strong> le plus pentu aux monde à deux cabines</strong>.</em><br /> <em> – la durée du parcours sera réduite et aux heures de pointes, un départ toutes les 10 minutes est prévu.</em><br /> <em> – pour permettre une exploitation étendue en automne et au printemps, une souffleuse à neige est prévue sur un chariot à l’avance de la cabine afin de dégager la voie.</em><br /> <em> – le câble sera changé et fourni par Fatzer.</em></p> <p><em>Cabines:</em><br /> <em> – Le funiculaire du Châtelard ayant été classé dans l’Inventaire suisse des installations à câbles (référence 61.056) par l’Office Fédéral de la Culture (OFC), un accord a été trouvé avec l’OFT pour ne pas faire du faux-vieux. Ainsi de nouvelles cabines seront construites.</em><br /> <em> – les deux cabines en aluminium seront remplacées par deux nouvelles cabines plus larges de 20 cm et plus longues de 4 m pour accueillir 35 passagers assis et plus lourdes (11 tonnes au lieu de 6 tonnes actuellement) et comporteront une porte sur la face avant afin que les passagers puissent évacuer en empruntant l’escalier existant qui se trouve entre les rails de la voie.</em><br /> <em> – les nouvelles cabines seront construites par Gangloff et les anciennes cabines seront données au Musée des Transports de Lucerne.</em><br /> <em> – le chariot ballast sera supprimé</em></p> <p><em>Machinerie:</em><br /> <em> – afin de pouvoir supporter les nouvelles cabines plus lourdes, un nouvel entraînement sera fourni par Garaventa avec un enroulement en 8 avec deux gorges sur une unique poulie motrice,</em><br /> <em> mais avec trois contre-poulies coaxiales à l’extérieur.</em></p> <p><em>Accessibilité:</em><br /> <em> – les quais d’embarquement seront modifiés pour être conforme à la réglementation sur l’accessibilité aux personnes à mobilités réduites.</em></p> <p><em>Mise en service prévue: fin mai 2015</em></p> <span class="hps">funicular.</span></span></p> <p>Funicular <span class="hps">Châtelard</span> <span class="hps">–</span> <span class="hps">Emosson</span> <span class="hps">(or</span> <span class="hps">Châtelard</span> <span class="hps">–</span> Les <span class="hps">Montuires</span>) stopped <span class="hps">its operations</span> <span class="hps">since the end of</span> <span class="hps">the 2012 season</span>.<br /> <span class="hps">The Federal Office</span> <span class="hps">of Transport</span> <span class="hps">(OFT)</span> <span class="hps">asked the</span> <span class="hps">Amusement</span> <span class="hps">Park</span> <span class="hps">Châtelard</span> <span class="hps">SA</span> <span class="hps">to</span> modify <span class="hps">its funicular</span> to be conform to <span class="hps">safety </span><span class="hps">and accessibility standards.</span><br /> <span class="hps">Already</span> <span class="hps">in 1995, the</span> <span class="hps">park</span> <span class="hps">renovated</span> <span class="hps">machinery,</span> <span class="hps">automation</span> <span class="hps">and sanitized</span> <span class="hps">funicular</span> <span class="hps">track and</span> <span class="hps">art</span> <span class="hps">works</span>.<br /> <span class="hps">The latest requirements</span> <span class="hps">of</span> <span class="hps">the OFT</span> <span class="hps">involved</span> <span class="hps">the construction of new</span> <span class="hps">and</span> <span class="hps">closed</span> <span class="hps">cars</span> <span class="hps">with</span> <span class="hps">more seating</span>, <span class="hps">opening doors</span> <span class="hps">on both sides</span> <span class="hps">and</span> <span class="hps">platforms accessible to</span> <span class="hps">disabled people</span>.<br /> <span class="hps">These</span> <span class="hps">additional financial burdens</span> <span class="hps">could not be</span> <span class="hps">supported by</span> <span class="hps">the Park.</span> <span class="hps">The OFT</span> <span class="hps">accepted that</span> <span class="hps">the operation of the</span> <span class="hps">funicular</span> was<span class="hps"> continued</span> <span class="hps">until the end of</span> <span class="hps">the 2012 season</span> <span class="hps">but after that</span> <span class="hps">the</span> <span class="hps">park</span> <span class="hps">had to close</span>.<br /> <span class="hps">7.5 million</span> <span class="hps">Swiss francs</span> <span class="hps">were needed to</span> <span class="hps">meet the requirements of</span> <span class="hps">the OFT</span>.<br /> <span class="hps">The town</span> <span class="hps">Finhaut</span> <span class="hps">on which is</span> <span class="hps">the</span> <span class="hps">Amusement Park</span> <span class="hps">Chatelard</span>, <span class="hps">was called in</span> <span class="hps">to</span> <span class="hps">help</span> <span class="hps">raise the money</span> <span class="hps">needed for</span> <span class="hps">the renovation</span>.<br /> <span class="hps">A capital increase</span> <span class="hps">was considered.</span><br /> <span class="hps">In June</span> <span class="hps">2014, the</span> <span class="hps">municipality agreed</span> <span class="hps">almost unanimously</span> <span class="hps">to take control</span> <span class="hps">of</span> <span class="hps">Amusement Park</span> <span class="hps">Chatelard</span> <span class="hps">to renovate the</span> <span class="hps">funicular.</span></p> <p><span class="hps">The renovation work</span> <span class="hps">will therefore focus</span> <span class="hps">on</span>:</p> <p><span class="hps">Track</span><span class="hps">:</span><br /> <span class="hps">–</span> <span class="hps">The route</span> <span class="hps">with</span> <span class="hps">its</span> <span class="hps">maximum</span> <span class="hps">slope of</span> <span class="hps">87%</span> <span class="hps">will be retained</span> <span class="hps">as</span> <span class="hps">the funicular</span> <span class="hps">will always be <strong>the</strong></span><strong> <span class="hps">steepest</span> <span class="hps">in the</span> class="hps">–</span> <span class="hps">To allow</span> <span class="hps">an extended</span> <span class="hps">fall and spring</span> <span class="hps">operating</span> <span class="hps">a snow blower</span> <span class="hps">is provided on a</span> <span class="hps">trolley</span> <span class="hps">in front </span><span class="hps">of the cab</span> <span class="hps">to</span> <span class="hps">clear the way</span>.<br /> <span class="hps">–</span> <span class="hps">The cable will be</span> <span class="hps">changed and</span> <span class="hps">provided by</span> <span
