Come, see the place where He was lying.<span class="fn"><a href="#fna" title="BYZ and TR ‘where the Lord lay’">a</a></span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>And having gone quickly, say to His disciples that He is risen from the dead and behold, He goes before you into Galilee; you will see Him there. Behold, I have told you.” </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And having gone out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to tell His disciples. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And<span class="fn"><a href="#fnb" title="BYZ and TR include ‘as they were going to tell to his disciples’">b</a></span> behold, Jesus met them, saying, <span class="red">“Greetings!”</span> And having approached, they took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Then Jesus says to them, <span class="red">“Do not fear. Go, tell My brothers, so that they should go into Galilee, and there will they see Me.”</span> </p><p class="hdg">The Report of the Guards</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And <i>while</i> they were going, behold, some of the guard, having gone into the city, reported to the chief priests all the things having been done. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And having been gathered together with the elders, and having taken counsel, they gave many silver pieces to the soldiers, <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>saying, “Say that His disciples, having come by night, stole Him—we being asleep. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And if this is heard by the governor, we will persuade him and will keep you out of trouble.” </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And having taken the money, they did as they were instructed. And this report is spread abroad among <i>the</i> Jews until the present day. </p><p class="hdg">The Great Commission<br /><span class="cross">(Mark 16:14-18)</span></p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus assigned them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And having seen Him they worshiped; but some doubted. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>And having come to <i>them</i>, Jesus spoke to them, saying, <span class="red">“All authority in heaven and on the earth has been given to Me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Therefore having gone, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you.
