<span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “Woe<MH1945> to the foolish<MH5036> prophets<MH5030> who<MH834> are following<MH1980, 310> their own spirit<MH7307> and have seen<MH7200> nothing<MH1115>! <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>Israel<MH3478>, your prophets<MH5030> have been<MH1961> like jackals<MH7776> among ruins<MH2723>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>You have not gone<MH5927> up<MH5927> into the breaches<MH6556>, nor<MH3808> did you build<MH1443> up<MH1443> a stone<MH1447> wall<MH1447> around<MH5921> the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478> to stand<MH5975> in the battle<MH4421> on the day<MH3117> of the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>They see<MH2372> deceit<MH7723> and lying<MH3577> divination<MH7081>, those who are saying<MH559>, ‘The LORD<MH3068> declares<MH5002>,’ when the LORD<MH3068> has not sent<MH7971> them; yet they wait<MH3176> for the fulfillment<MH6965> of <i>their</i> word<MH1697>! <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Did you not see<MH2372> a false<MH7723> vision<MH4236> and tell<MH559> a lying<MH3577> divination<MH4738> when you said<MH559>, ‘The LORD<MH3068> declares<MH5002>,’ but it is not I who have spoken<MH1696>?”’” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Therefore<MH3651>, this<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “Because<MH3282> you have spoken<MH1696> deceit<MH7723> and have seen<MH2372> a lie<MH3577>, therefore<MH3651> behold<MH2009>, I am against<MH413> you,” declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>“So My hand<MH3027> will be against<MH413> the prophets<MH5030> who see<MH2372> false<MH7723> visions<MH2372> and utter<MH7080> lying<MH3577> divinations<MH7080>. They will <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>have<MH1961> no<MH3808> place<MH1961> in the council<MH5475> of My people<MH5971a>, nor<MH3808> will they be written<MH3789> down<MH3789> in the register<MH3791> of the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478>, nor<MH3808> will they enter<MH935> the land<MH127> of Israel<MH3478>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>so that you may know<MH3045> that I am the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>It is definitely<MH3282> because<MH3282> they have misled<MH2937> My people<MH5971a> by saying<MH559>, ‘Peace<MH7965>!’ when there<MH369> is<MH369> no<MH369> peace<MH7965>. And when anyone<MH1931> builds<MH1129> a wall<MH2434>, behold<MH2009>, they plaster<MH2902> it over<MH2902> with whitewash<MH8602b>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><i>so</i> tell<MH559> those who plaster<MH2902> <i>it</i> over<MH2902> with whitewash<MH8602b>, that it will fall<MH5307>. A flooding<MH7857> rain<MH1653> will come<MH1961>, and you, hailstones<MH1259, 68>, will fall<MH5307>, and a violent<MH5591b> wind<MH7307> will break<MH1234> out<MH1234>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Behold<MH2009>, <i>when</i> the wall<MH7023> has fallen<MH5307>, will you not be asked<MH559>, ‘Where<MH346> is the plaster<MH2915> with which<MH834> you plastered<MH2902> <i>it?</i>’” <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Therefore<MH3651>, this<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “I will make a violent<MH5591b> wind<MH7307> break<MH1234> out<MH1234> in My wrath<MH2534>. There will also be in My anger<MH639> a flooding<MH7857> rain<MH1653> and hailstones<MH417, 68> to consume<MH3615> <i>it</i> in wrath<MH2534>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>So I will tear<MH2040> down<MH2040> the wall<MH7023> which<MH834> you plastered<MH2902> over<MH2902> with whitewash<MH8602b> and hurl<MH5060> it down<MH5060> to the ground<MH776>, so that its foundation<MH3247> is exposed<MH1540>; and when it falls<MH5307>, you will perish<MH3615> in its midst<MH8432>. And you will know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>So I will expend<MH3615> My wrath<MH2534> on the wall<MH7023> and on those who have plastered<MH2902> it over<MH2902> with whitewash<MH8602b>; and I will say<MH559> to you, ‘The wall<MH7023> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>is<MH369> gone<MH369> and those who plastered<MH2902> it are<MH369> gone<MH369>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><i>along with</i> the prophets<MH5030> of Israel<MH3478> who prophesy<MH5012> to Jerusalem<MH3389>, and who see<MH7200> a vision<MH2377> of peace<MH7965> for her when there<MH369> is<MH369> no<MH369> peace<MH7965>,’ declares<MH5002> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>“Now you, son<MH1121> of man<MH120>, set<MH7760> your face<MH6440> against<MH413> the daughters<MH1323> of your people<MH5971a> who are talking<MH5012> like<MH5012> prophets<MH5012> from their own <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>imagination<MH3820>. Prophesy<MH5012> against<MH5921> them <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>and say<MH559>, ‘This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “Woe<MH1945> to the women who sew<MH8609> <i>magic</i> bands<MH3704> on <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>all<MH3605> wrists<MH3027, 679> and make<MH6213a> veils<MH4555> for the heads<MH7218> <i>of persons</i> of every<MH3605> stature<MH6967> to capture<MH6679> souls<MH5315>! Will you capture<MH6679> the souls<MH5315> of My people<MH5971a>, but keep<MH2421a> the souls<MH5315> <i>of others</i> alive<MH2421a> for yourselves? <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>For handfuls<MH8168> of barley<MH8184> and pieces<MH6604b> of bread<MH3899>, you have profaned<MH2490c> Me to My people<MH5971a>, to put<MH4191> to<MH4191> death<MH4191> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>some<MH5315> who<MH834> should not die<MH4191>, and to keep<MH2421a> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>others<MH5315> alive<MH2421a> who<MH834> should not live<MH2421a>, by your lying<MH3576> to My people<MH5971a> who listen<MH8085> to lies<MH3577>.”’” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>Therefore<MH3651>, this<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “Behold<MH2009>, I am against<MH413> your <i>magic</i> bands<MH3704> by which<MH834> you capture<MH6679> souls<MH5315> there<MH8033> as <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>birds<MH6524c>, and I will tear<MH7167> them from your arms<MH2220>; and I will let<MH7971> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>them go<MH7971>, those souls<MH5315> whom<MH834> you capture<MH6679> as <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>birds<MH6524c>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>I will also tear<MH7167> off your veils<MH4555> and save<MH5337> My people<MH5971a> from your hands<MH3027>, and they will no<MH3808> longer<MH5750> be in your hands<MH3027> as prey<MH4686a>; and you will know<MH3045> that I am the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Because<MH3282> you disheartened<MH3512a, 3820> the righteous<MH6662> with falsehood<MH8267> when I did not cause<MH3510> him pain<MH3510>, but <i>you</i> have <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>encouraged<MH2388, 3027> the wicked<MH7563> not to turn<MH7725> from his wicked<MH7451a> way<MH1870> to keep<MH2421a> him alive<MH2421a>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/13-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>therefore<MH3651> you women will no<MH3808> longer<MH5750> see<MH2372> deceitful<MH7723> visions<MH2372> or practice<MH7080> divination<MH7081>, and I will save<MH5337> My people<MH5971a> from your hands<MH3027>.
