Employing ‘Store Carry and Forward’ delivery mechanism for message transmission in such networks usually incurs long message delays. In this paper, we present the modified Binary Spray and Wait (BSW) routing protocol that enhances the performance of the original one. Our proposed algorithm adjusts the number of forward messages depending on the number of neighbor nodes. By using beacon messages periodically, the number of neighbor nodes can be managed. The simulation using ONE simulator results shows that our modified version gives higher delivery ratio and less latency as compared to BSW. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay%20tolerant%20networks" title="delay tolerant networks">delay tolerant networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=store%20carry%20and%20forward" title=" store carry and forward"> store carry and forward</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=one%20simulator" title=" one simulator"> one simulator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=binary%20spray%20and%20wait" title=" binary spray and wait"> binary spray and wait</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/97723/study-on-the-efficient-routing-algorithms-in-delay-tolerant-networks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/97723.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">123</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3740</span> VANETs Geographic Routing Protocols: A survey</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ramin%20Karimi">Ramin Karimi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> One of common highly mobile wireless ad hoc networks is Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks. Hence routing in vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) has attracted much attention during the last few years. VANET is characterized by its high mobility of nodes and specific topology patterns. Moreover these networks encounter a significant loss rate and a very short duration of communication. In vehicular ad hoc networks, one of challenging is routing of data due to high speed mobility and changing topology of vehicles. Geographic routing protocols are becoming popular due to advancement and availability of GPS devices. Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) are a class of networks that enable communication where connectivity issues like sparse connectivity, intermittent connectivity; high latency, long delay, high error rates, asymmetric data rate, and even no end-to-end connectivity exist. In this paper, we review the existing Geographic Routing Protocols for VANETs and also provide a qualitative comparison of them. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vehicular%20ad%20hoc%20networks" title="vehicular ad hoc networks">vehicular ad hoc networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mobility" title=" mobility"> mobility</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=geographic%20routing" title=" geographic routing"> geographic routing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay%20tolerant%20networks" title=" delay tolerant networks"> delay tolerant networks</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34821/vanets-geographic-routing-protocols-a-survey" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34821.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">520</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3739</span> A Survey of Novel Opportunistic Routing Protocols in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=R.%20Poonkuzhali">R. In this paper, we have thoroughly analyzed the effect of contention window (CW) size on the performance of IEEE 802.11-based industrial wireless networks (IWN), from delay and reliability perspective. Results show that the default values of CWmin, CWmax, and retry limit (RL) are far from the optimum performance due to the industrial application characteristics, including short packet and noisy environment. An adaptive CW algorithm (payload-dependent) has been proposed to minimize the average delay. Finally a simple, but effective CW and RL setting has been proposed for industrial applications which outperforms the minimum-average-delay solution from maximum delay and jitter perspective, at the cost of a little higher average delay. Simulation results show an improvement of up to 20%, 25%, and 30% in average delay, maximum delay and jitter respectively. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=average%20delay" title="average delay">average delay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=contention%20window" title=" contention window"> contention window</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=distributed%20coordination%20function%20%28DCF%29" title=" distributed coordination function (DCF)"> distributed coordination function (DCF)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=jitter" title=" jitter"> jitter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=industrial%20wireless%20network%20%28IWN%29" title=" industrial wireless network (IWN)"> industrial wireless network (IWN)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=maximum%20delay" title=" maximum delay"> maximum delay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reliability" title=" reliability"> reliability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=retry%20limit" title=" retry limit"> retry limit</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36488/contention-window-adjustment-in-ieee-80211-based-industrial-wireless-networks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36488.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">416</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3737</span> The On-Board Critical Message Transmission Design for Navigation Satellite Delay/Disruption Tolerant Network</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ji-yang%20Yu">Ji-yang Yu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dan%20Huang"> Dan Huang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Guo-ping%20Feng"> Guo-ping Feng</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xin%20Li"> Xin Li</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lu-yuan%20Wang"> Lu-yuan Wang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The navigation satellite network, especially the Beidou MEO Constellation, can relay data effectively with wide coverage and is applied in navigation, detection, and position widely. But the constellation has not been completed, and the amount of satellites on-board is not enough to cover the earth, which makes the data-relay disrupted or delayed in the transition process. The data-relay function needs to tolerant the delay or disruption in some extension, which make the Beidou MEO Constellation a delay/disruption-tolerant network (DTN). The traditional DTN designs mainly employ the relay table as the basic of data path schedule computing. But in practical application, especially in critical condition, such as the war-time or the infliction heavy losses on the constellation, parts of the nodes may become invalid, then the traditional DTN design could be useless. Furthermore, when transmitting the critical message in the navigation system, the maximum priority strategy is used, but the nodes still inquiry the relay table to design the path, which makes the delay more than minutes. Under this circumstances, it needs a function which could compute the optimum data path on-board in real-time according to the constellation states. The on-board critical message transmission design for navigation satellite delay/disruption-tolerant network (DTN) is proposed, according to the characteristics of navigation satellite network. With the real-time computation of parameters in the network link, the least-delay transition path is deduced to retransmit the critical message in urgent conditions. First, the DTN model for constellation is established based on the time-varying matrix (TVM) instead of the time-varying graph (TVG); then, the least transition delay data path is deduced with the parameters of the current node; at last, the critical message transits to the next best node. For the on-board real-time computing, the time delay and misjudges of constellation states in ground stations are eliminated, and the residual information channel for each node can be used flexibly. Compare with the minute’s delay of traditional DTN; the proposed transmits the critical message in seconds, which improves the re-transition efficiency. The hardware is implemented in FPGA based on the proposed model, and the tests prove the validity. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=critical%20message" title="critical message">critical message</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DTN" title=" DTN"> DTN</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=navigation%20satellite" title=" navigation satellite"> navigation satellite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=on-board" title=" on-board"> on-board</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real-time" title=" real-time"> real-time</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67904/the-on-board-critical-message-transmission-design-for-navigation-satellite-delaydisruption-tolerant-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67904.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">343</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3736</span> Minimization of Propagation Delay in Multi Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Network</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Purva%20Joshi">Purva Joshi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rohit%20Thanki"> Rohit Thanki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Omar%20Hanif"> Omar Hanif</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are becoming increasingly important in various industrial applications and sectors. Nowadays, a multi UAV network is used for specific types of communication (e.g., military) and monitoring purposes. Therefore, it is critical to reducing propagation delay during communication between UAVs, which is essential in a multi UAV network. This paper presents how the propagation delay between the base station (BS) and the UAVs is reduced using a searching algorithm. Furthermore, the iterative-based K-nearest neighbor (k-NN) algorithm and Travelling Salesmen Problem (TSP) algorthm were utilized to optimize the distance between BS and individual UAV to overcome the problem of propagation delay in multi UAV networks. The simulation results show that this proposed method reduced complexity, improved reliability, and reduced propagation delay in multi UAV networks. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi%20UAV%20network" title="multi UAV network">multi UAV network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimal%20distance" title=" optimal distance"> optimal distance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=propagation%20delay" title=" propagation delay"> propagation delay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=K%20-%20nearest%20neighbor" title=" K - nearest neighbor"> K - nearest neighbor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=traveling%20salesmen%20problem" title=" traveling salesmen problem"> traveling salesmen problem</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/150423/minimization-of-propagation-delay-in-multi-unmanned-aerial-vehicle-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/150423.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">201</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3735</span> A Hybrid MAC Protocol for Delay Constrained Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hanefi%20Cinar">Hanefi Cinar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Musa%20Cibuk"> Musa Cibuk</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ismail%20Erturk"> Ismail Erturk</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fikri%20Aggun"> Fikri Aggun</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Munip%20Geylani"> Munip Geylani</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks (MWSNs) carry heterogeneous data traffic with different urgency and quality of service (QoS) requirements. In particular, the delay of on-board processing is an inherent source of latency in a satellite communication that sometimes is discarded for the end-to-end delay of the satellite link. The frame work for this paper includes modelling of an on-orbit satellite payload using an agent model that can reproduce the properties of processing delays. In essence, a comparison of different spatial interpolation methods is carried out to evaluate physical data obtained by an GEO satellite in order to define a discretization function for determining that delay. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed agent and the development of a delay discretization function are together validated by simulating an hybrid satellite and terrestrial network. Simulation results show high accuracy according to the characteristics of initial data points of processing delay for Ku bands. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=terrestrial-satellite%20networks" title="terrestrial-satellite networks">terrestrial-satellite networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=latency" title=" latency"> latency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=on-orbit%20satellite%20payload" title=" on-orbit satellite payload"> on-orbit satellite payload</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=simulation" title=" simulation"> simulation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/72448/an-agent-based-modelling-simulation-approach-to-calculate-processing-delay-of-geo-satellite-payload" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/72448.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">271</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3733</span> Delay-Dependent Passivity Analysis for Neural Networks with Time-Varying Delays</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H.%20Y.%20Jung">H. Firstly, an estimation filter with a measurement delay is designed for the indoor positioning mechanism under a weighted least square criterion, which utilizes only finite measurements on the most recent window. The proposed estimation filtering based scheme gives the filtered estimates for position, velocity and acceleration of moving target in real-time, while removing undesired noisy effects and preserving desired moving positions. Secondly, the proposed scheme is shown to have good inherent properties such as unbiasedness, efficiency, time-invariance, deadbeat, and robustness due to the finite memory structure. Finally, computer simulations shows that the performance of the proposed estimation filtering based scheme can outperform to the existing infinite memory filtering based mechanism. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=indoor%20positioning%20system" title="indoor positioning system">indoor positioning system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wireless%20sensor%20networks" title=" wireless sensor networks"> wireless sensor networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=measurement%20delay" title=" measurement delay"> measurement delay</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21330/an-indoor-positioning-system-in-wireless-sensor-networks-with-measurement-delay" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21330.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">482</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3731</span> A Survey of Dynamic QoS Methods in Sofware Defined Networking</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vikram%20Kalekar">Vikram Kalekar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Modern Internet Protocol (IP) networks deploy traditional and modern Quality of Service (QoS) management methods to ensure the smooth flow of network packets during regular operations. How long the ONUs can sleep without violating the delay constraint has become a research problem. Particularly, we can derive an analytical model to determine the optimal sleep time of ONUs in every cycle without violating the maximum class delay constraint. The bandwidth allocation considering such optimal sleep time is called Green Bandwidth Allocation (GBA). Although the GBA mechanism guarantees that the different class delay constraints do not violate the maximum class delay constraint, packets with a more relaxed delay constraint will be treated as those with the most stringent delay constraint and may be sent early. This means that the ONU will waste energy in active mode to send packets in advance which did not need to be sent at the current time. Accordingly, we proposed a QoS-aware GBA using a novel intra-ONU scheduling to control the packets to be sent according to their respective delay constraints, thereby enhancing energy efficiency without deteriorating delay performance. If packets are not explicitly classified but with different packet delay constraints, we can modify the intra-ONU scheduling to classify packets according to their packet delay constraints rather than their classes. Moreover, we propose the switchable ONU architecture in which the ONU can switch the architecture according to the sleep time length, thus improving energy efficiency in the QoS-aware GBA. The simulation results show that the QoS-aware GBA ensures that packets in different classes or with different delay constraints do not violate their respective delay constraints and consume less power than the original GBA. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Passive%20Optical%20Networks" title="Passive Optical Networks">Passive Optical Networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PONs" title=" PONs"> PONs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Optical%20Network%20Unit" title=" Optical Network Unit"> Optical Network Unit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ONU" title=" ONU"> ONU</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20efficiency" title=" energy efficiency"> energy efficiency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay%20constraint" title=" delay constraint"> delay constraint</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/94624/quality-of-service-aware-green-bandwidth-allocation-in-ethernet-passive-optical-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/94624.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">284</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3729</span> A Low-Power Comparator Structure with Arbitrary Pre-Amplification Delay</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ata%20Khorami">Ata Khorami</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Sharifkhani"> Mohammad Sharifkhani</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the dynamic comparators, the pre-amplifier amplifies the input differential voltage and when the output Vcm of the pre-amplifier becomes larger than Vth of the latch input transistors, the latch is activated and finalizes the comparison. Building applications relying on best effort network protocols hindered the adoption of guaranteed service parameters and, ultimately, Quality of Service. The introduction of Software Defined Networking (SDN) opened the door for a new paradigm shift towards a more controlled programmable configurable behavior. Openflow has been and still is the main implementation of the SDN vision. To facilitate better QoS for applications, the network must calculate and measure certain parameters. One of those parameters is the delay between the two ends of the connection. Using the power of SDN and the knowledge of application and network behavior, SDN networks can adjust to different conditions and specifications. In this paper, we use the capabilities of SDN to implement multiple algorithms to measure delay end-to-end not only inside the SDN network. The results of applying the algorithms on an emulated environment show that we can get measurements close to the emulated delay. The results also show that depending on the algorithm, load on the network and controller can differ. In addition, the transport layer handshake algorithm performs best among the tested algorithms. Out of the results and implementation, we show the limitations of Openflow and develop suggestions to solve them. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=software%20defined%20networking" title="software defined networking">software defined networking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quality%20of%20service" title=" quality of service"> quality of service</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay%20measurement" title=" delay measurement"> delay measurement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=openflow" title=" openflow"> openflow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mininet" title=" mininet"> mininet</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126268/measuring-delay-using-software-defined-networks-limitations-challenges-and-suggestions-for-openflow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126268.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">165</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3726</span> Fast Authentication Using User Path Prediction in Wireless Broadband Networks</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gunasekaran%20Raja">Gunasekaran Raja</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajakumar%20Arul"> Rajakumar Arul</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kottilingam%20Kottursamy"> Kottilingam Kottursamy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ramkumar%20Jayaraman"> Ramkumar Jayaraman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sathya%20Pavithra"> Sathya Pavithra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Swaminathan%20Venkatraman"> Swaminathan Venkatraman</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Wireless Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) utilizes the IEEE 802.1X mechanism for authentication. However, this mechanism incurs considerable delay during handoffs. This delay during handoffs results in service disruption which becomes a severe bottleneck. To overcome this delay, our article proposes a key caching mechanism based on user path prediction. If the user mobility follows that path, the user bypasses the normal IEEE 802.1X mechanism and establishes the necessary authentication keys directly. Through analytical and simulation modeling, we have proved that our mechanism effectively decreases the handoff delay thereby achieving fast authentication. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=authentication" title="authentication">authentication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=authorization" title=" authorization"> authorization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=and%20accounting%20%28AAA%29" title=" and accounting (AAA)"> and accounting (AAA)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=handoff" title=" handoff"> handoff</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mobile" title=" mobile"> mobile</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=user%20path%20prediction%20%28UPP%29%20and%20user%20pattern" title=" user path prediction (UPP) and user pattern"> user path prediction (UPP) and user pattern</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48859/fast-authentication-using-user-path-prediction-in-wireless-broadband-networks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48859.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">405</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3725</span> Performance Analysis of Routing Protocols for WLAN Based Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noman%20Shabbir">Noman Shabbir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Roheel%20Nawaz"> Roheel Nawaz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muhammad%20N.%20Iqbal"> Muhammad N. Compared with existing authentication protocols, MAP markedly enhance the communication overhead and decreases the delay of exchanging messages while preserving conditional privacy. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vehicular%20Ad%20hoc%20NETworks%20%28VANET%29" title="Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANET)">Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANET)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vehicle%20categories" title=" vehicle categories"> vehicle categories</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=safety" title=" safety"> safety</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=databases" title=" databases"> databases</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=privacy" title=" privacy"> privacy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=authentication" title=" authentication"> authentication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=throughput" title=" throughput"> throughput</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay" title=" delay"> delay</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/87440/a-multilevel-authentication-protocol-map-in-vanet-for-human-safety" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/87440.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">296</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3722</span> An Enhanced AODV Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Apidet%20Booranawong">Apidet Booranawong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wiklom%20Teerapabkajorndet"> Wiklom Teerapabkajorndet</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> An enhanced ad-hoc on-demand distance vector routing (E-AODV) protocol for control system applications in wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSANs) is proposed. Our routing algorithm is designed by considering both wireless network communication and the control system aspects. Control system error and network delay are the main selection criteria in our routing protocol. The control and communication performance is evaluated on multi-hop IEEE 802.15.4 networks for building-temperature control systems. The Gilbert-Elliott error model is employed to simulate packet loss in wireless networks. The simulation results demonstrate that the E-AODV routing approach can significantly improve the communication performance better than an original AODV routing under various packet loss rates. However, the control performance result by our approach is not much improved compared with the AODV routing solution. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=WSANs" title="WSANs">WSANs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=building%20temperature%20control" title=" building temperature control"> building temperature control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AODV%20routing%20protocol" title=" AODV routing protocol"> AODV routing protocol</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=control%20system%20error" title=" control system error"> control system error</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=settling%20time" title=" settling time"> settling time</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay" title=" delay"> delay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delivery%20ratio" title=" delivery ratio "> delivery ratio </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/3379/an-enhanced-aodv-routing-protocol-for-wireless-sensor-and-actuator-networks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/3379.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">338</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3721</span> Recognition of Noisy Words Using the Time Delay Neural Networks Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khenfer-Koummich%20Fatima">Khenfer-Koummich Fatima</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mesbahi%20Larbi"> Mesbahi Larbi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hendel%20Fatiha"> Hendel Fatiha</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents a recognition system for isolated words like robot commands. Unlike most FD techniques, the proposed solution simultaneously accomplishes fault detection, isolation, and identification (FDII) within a unified diagnostic module. At the core of this solution is a bank of adaptive neural parameter estimators (NPE) associated with a set of single-parameter fault models. The NPEs continuously estimate unknown fault parameters (FP) that are indicators of faults in the system. Two NPE structures including series-parallel and parallel are developed with their exclusive set of desirable attributes. The parallel scheme is extremely robust to measurement noise and possesses a simpler, yet more solid, fault isolation logic. On the contrary, the series-parallel scheme displays short FD delays and is robust to closed-loop system transients due to changes in control commands. Finally, a fault tolerant observer (FTO) is designed to extend the capability of the NPEs to systems with partial-state measurement. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hybrid%20fault%20diagnosis" title="hybrid fault diagnosis">hybrid fault diagnosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20neural%20networks" title=" dynamic neural networks"> dynamic neural networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nonlinear%20systems" title=" nonlinear systems"> nonlinear systems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fault%20tolerant%20observer" title=" fault tolerant observer"> fault tolerant observer</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23088/fault-diagnosis-of-nonlinear-systems-using-dynamic-neural-networks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23088.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">401</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3719</span> Queueing Modeling of M/G/1 Fault Tolerant System with Threshold Recovery and Imperfect Coverage</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Madhu%20Jain">Madhu Jain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rakesh%20Kumar%20Meena"> Rakesh Kumar Meena</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper investigates a finite M/G/1 fault tolerant multi-component machining system. Soil salinity poses a significant challenge for agricultural lands. Understanding the expression patterns of different rice varieties under salt stress can provide insights for developing more salt-tolerant cultivars. This study aims to compare the expression patterns of two rice varieties, Thai moderately salt-tolerant rice (Leaung Anan) and high salt-tolerant rice (Pokkali), in response to salt stress. By analyzing protein expression, the research seeks to identify key proteins associated with salt tolerance in rice. The expression patterns of the two rice varieties under salt stress were analyzed using 1D-SDS-PAGE, NanoLC-MS/MS, and MEV software. These methods enabled the researchers to assess the differential expression of proteins in the leaf sheaths of the rice plants. These results indicate that the study identified 18 proteins, exhibited significantly different expression patterns between the two rice cultivars under salt stress. Notably, certain proteins, such as Os05g0364500 and pr1-like protein, showed contrasting expression profiles in the two varieties. The up-regulated proteins, predominantly observed in the salt-tolerant rice, may contribute to the survival of rice plants under salt stress and may provide valuable insights for breeding programs aiming to enhance salt tolerancein rice cultivars. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mass%20spectrometry" title="mass spectrometry">mass spectrometry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=proteomics" title=" proteomics"> proteomics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rice%20leaf%20sheaths" title=" rice leaf sheaths"> rice leaf sheaths</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=salt%20stress" title=" salt stress"> salt stress</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/194601/the-expression-patterns-of-thai-moderately-salt-tolerant-rice-and-high-salt-tolerant-rice-in-response-to-salt-stress" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/194601.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">8</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3715</span> Major Causes of Delay in Construction Projects</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Y.%20Gholipour">Y. One of the major problems in underwater wireless sensor networks is how to transfer data from the moving node to the base stations and choose the optimized route for data transmission. Secure routing in underwater wireless sensor network (UWCNs) is necessary for packet delivery. Some routing protocols are proposed for underwater wireless sensor networks. However, a few researches have been done on secure routing in underwater sensor networks. In this article, a secure routing protocol is provided to resist against wormhole and sybil attacks. The results indicated acceptable performance in terms of increasing the packet delivery ratio with regards to the attacks, increasing network lifetime by creating balance in the network energy
