In biblical times, the quality of materials, offerings, and even character was of significant importance, reflecting one's devotion and reverence toward God.

High-grade Materials and Offerings

In the construction of the Tabernacle and the Temple, high-grade materials were specified by God, emphasizing the importance of offering the best to Him. Exodus 25:3-7 lists the materials required for the Tabernacle: "This is the offering you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; ram skins dyed red and fine leather; acacia wood; olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; and onyx stones and gemstones to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece." These materials were of the highest quality, symbolizing the holiness and majesty of God.

Similarly, in the construction of Solomon's Temple, high-grade materials were used. 1 Kings 6:21-22 describes the interior: "So Solomon overlaid the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold. So he overlaid the whole interior with gold. He also overlaid with gold the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary."

High-grade Character and Conduct

The Bible also emphasizes the importance of high-grade character and conduct among God's people. Believers are called to live lives of integrity, purity, and excellence. Philippians 4:8 encourages believers to focus on what is excellent: "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things."

The concept of high-grade character is further illustrated in the fruit of the Spirit, as described in Galatians 5:22-23 : "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." These attributes represent the high standard of living that God desires for His people.

High-grade Faith and Devotion

The Bible also speaks to the quality of one's faith and devotion. In the parable of the sower, Jesus describes the seed sown on good soil as representing those who hear the word and understand it, producing a high yield. Matthew 13:23 states, "But the seed sown on good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and produces a crop— a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold."

Furthermore, the sacrificial system in the Old Testament required offerings without blemish, symbolizing the need for purity and excellence in worship. Leviticus 22:21 instructs, "When a man presents a peace offering to the LORD to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from the herd or flock, it must be without blemish to be acceptable; there must be no defect in it."

In summary, while the term "high-grade" is not directly used in the Bible, the principles of offering the best to God, living with integrity, and maintaining a pure and devoted heart are deeply embedded in the biblical narrative. These principles reflect the high standards that God sets for His people in their worship, conduct, and faith.
Library

First Day in New York
... Jack made as much money as any of his high grade fellow traders in Harlem, and he
had no home responsibilities, his widow mother being what we might call well ...
/.../chapter iii first day in.htm
The Evolution of Language
... But this does not necessarily imply any very high grade of intellect"very high,
that is to say, as compared with other contemporary animals"for it is ...
/.../the lowell lectures on the ascent of man/chapter v the evolution of.htm
Thesaurus
High-grade (1 Occurrence)
High-grade.
