Following successful installation, an experimental node design is built and characterised, with particular emphasis on radio range. Several configurations are investigated, including different data rates, and varying heights of node. It is concluded that although range can be great (over 8 km in this case), environmental topology is critical. However, shorter range implementations, up to about 2 km in an urban environment, are relatively insensitive although care is still needed. The example node and the relatively simple base station reported demonstrate that LoraWan can be a very low cost and practical solution to Internet of Things type applications for distributed monitoring systems with sensors spread over distances of several km. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=long-range" title="long-range">long-range</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wireless" title=" wireless"> wireless</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sensor" title=" sensor"> sensor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=network" title=" network"> network</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/82766/development-and-range-testing-of-a-lorawan-system-in-an-urban-environment" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/82766.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">137</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6572</span> Optimal Energy Management System for Electrical Vehicles to Further Extend the Range</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20R.%20Rouhi">M. The frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar raw data is first pre-processed to obtain robust object range-Doppler maps per coherent time interval. The complex-valued range-Doppler maps captured from our outdoor measurements are further fed into a convolutional neural network (CNN) to learn the classification. This CNN has gone through a hyperparameter optimization process for improved learning. By learning VRU range-Doppler signatures, the three classes 'pedestrian', 'dog', and 'noise' are classified with an average accuracy of almost 95%. Interestingly, this classification accuracy holds for a combined longitudinal and lateral object trajectories. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=machine%20learning" title="machine learning">machine learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=radar" title=" radar"> radar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=signal%20processing" title=" signal processing"> signal processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=autonomous%20driving" title=" autonomous driving"> autonomous driving</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139166/radar-based-classification-of-pedestrian-and-dog-using-high-resolution-raw-range-doppler-signatures" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139166.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">244</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6570</span> Monitoring Three-Dimensional Models of Tree and Forest by Using Digital Close-Range Photogrammetry</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20Y.%20Cicekli">S. Suspectedly, the global distribution range of brown bears is decreasing at the moment due to various factors. The carnivore species is categorized as ‘Least Concern’ globally by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. However, there are some fragmented, small populations that are on the verge of extinction, as is in Pakistan, where the species is listed as ‘Critically Endangered’, with a declining population trend. Importantly, the global historical distribution range of brown bears is undocumented. Therefore, in the current study, we reconstructed and estimated the historical distribution range of brown bears using QGIS software and also analyzed the network of protected areas in the past and current ranges of the species. Results showed that brown bear was more widely distributed in historic times, encompassing 52.6 million km² area as compared to their current distribution of 38.8 million km², resulting in a total range contraction of up to approximately 28 %. In the past, a total of N = 62,234 protected Areas, covering approximately 3.89 million km² were present in the distribution range of the species, while now a total of N= 33,313 Protected Areas, covering approximately 2.75 million km² area, are present in the current distribution range of the brown bear. The brown bear distribution range in the protected areas has also contracted by 1.15 million km² and the total percentage reduction of PAs is 29%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=brown%20bear" title="brown bear">brown bear</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=historic%20distribution" title=" historic distribution"> historic distribution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=range%20contraction" title=" range contraction"> range contraction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=protected%20areas" title=" protected areas"> protected areas</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/184575/global-historical-distribution-range-of-brown-bear-ursus-arctos" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/184575.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">60</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6567</span> Modeling of Erosion and Sedimentation Impacts from off-Road Vehicles in Arid Regions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abigail%20Rosenberg">Abigail Rosenberg</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jennifer%20Duan"> Jennifer Duan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Michael%20%20Poteuck"> Michael Poteuck</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chunshui%20Yu"> Chunshui Yu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Barry M. Goldwater Range, West in southwestern Arizona encompasses 2,808 square kilometers of Sonoran Desert. The hyper-arid range has an annual rainfall of less than 10 cm with an average high temperature of 41 degrees Celsius in July to an average low of 4 degrees Celsius in January. The range shares approximately 60 kilometers of the international border with Mexico. A majority of the range is open for recreational use, primarily off-highway vehicles. Because of its proximity to Mexico, the range is also heavily patrolled by U.S. Customs and Border Protection seeking to intercept and apprehend inadmissible people and illicit goods. Decades of off-roading and Border Patrol activities have negatively impacted this sensitive desert ecosystem. To assist the range program managers, this study is developing a model to identify erosion prone areas and calibrate the model’s parameters using the Automated Geospatial Watershed Assessment modeling tool. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=arid%20lands" title="arid lands">arid lands</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=automated%20geospatial%20watershed%20assessment" title=" automated geospatial watershed assessment"> automated geospatial watershed assessment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=erosion%20modeling" title=" erosion modeling"> erosion modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sedimentation%20modeling" title=" sedimentation modeling"> sedimentation modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=watershed%20modeling" title=" watershed modeling"> watershed modeling</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/59846/modeling-of-erosion-and-sedimentation-impacts-from-off-road-vehicles-in-arid-regions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/59846.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">374</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6566</span> Solvent extraction of molybdenum (VI) with two organophosphorus reagents TBP and D2EHPA under microwave irradiations</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Boucherit">Ahmed Boucherit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hussein%20Khalaf"> Hussein Khalaf</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Eduardo%20Paredes"> Eduardo Paredes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jos%C3%A9%20Luis%20Todol%C3%AD"> José Luis Todolí</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Solvent extraction studies of molybdenum (VI) with two organophosphorus reagents namely TBP and D2EHPA have been carried out from aqueous acidic solutions of HCl, H2SO4 and H3PO4 under microwave irradiations. The proposed algorithm is slightly altering the interquartile range distribution of the small groups based on predefined watermark. The experimental results on several 3D meshes prove perceptual invisibility and the robustness of the proposed technique against the most common attacks including compression, noise, smoothing, scaling, rotation as well as combinations of these attacks. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=watermarking" title="watermarking">watermarking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=three-dimensional%20models" title=" three-dimensional models"> three-dimensional models</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perceptual%20invisibility" title=" perceptual invisibility"> perceptual invisibility</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interquartile%20range" title=" interquartile range"> interquartile range</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=3D%20attacks" title=" 3D attacks"> 3D attacks</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15946/a-blind-three-dimensional-meshes-watermarking-using-the-interquartile-range" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15946.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">474</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6564</span> Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave Radar Human Fall Detection Based on Time-Varying Range-Doppler Features</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xiang%20Yu">Xiang Yu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chuntao%20Feng"> Chuntao Feng</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lu%20Yang"> Lu Yang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Meiyang%20Song"> Meiyang Song</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wenhao%20Zhou"> Wenhao Zhou</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The existing two-dimensional micro-Doppler features extraction ignores the correlation information between the spatial and temporal dimension features. For the range-Doppler map, the time dimension is introduced, and a frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW) radar human fall detection algorithm based on time-varying range-Doppler features is proposed. Firstly, the range-Doppler sequence maps are generated from the echo signals of the continuous motion of the human body collected by the radar. Then the three-dimensional data cube composed of multiple frames of range-Doppler maps is input into the three-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (3D CNN). The spatial and temporal features of time-varying range-Doppler are extracted by the convolution layer and pool layer at the same time. Finally, the extracted spatial and temporal features are input into the fully connected layer for classification. The experimental results show that the proposed fall detection algorithm has a detection accuracy of 95.66%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FMCW%20radar" title="FMCW radar">FMCW radar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fall%20detection" title=" fall detection"> fall detection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=3D%20CNN" title=" 3D CNN"> 3D CNN</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=time-varying%20range-doppler%20features" title=" time-varying range-doppler features"> time-varying range-doppler features</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/150637/frequency-modulation-continuous-wave-radar-human-fall-detection-based-on-time-varying-range-doppler-features" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/150637.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">122</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6563</span> Coherent Ku-Band Radar for Monitoring Ocean Waves</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Richard%20Mitchell">Richard Mitchell</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Robert%20Mitchell"> Robert Mitchell</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thai%20Duong"> Thai Duong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kyungbin%20Bae"> Kyungbin Bae</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Daegon%20Kim"> Daegon Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Youngsub%20Lee"> Youngsub Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Inho%20Kim"> Inho Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Inho%20Park"> Inho Park</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hyungseok%20Lee"> Hyungseok Lee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Although X-band radar is commonly used to measure the properties of ocean waves, the use of a higher frequency has several advantages, such as increased backscatter coefficient, better Doppler sensitivity, lower power, and a smaller package. A low-power Ku-band radar system was developed to demonstrate these advantages. It is fully coherent, and it interleaves short and long pulses to achieve a transmit duty ratio of 25%, which makes the best use of solid-state amplifiers. The range scales are 2 km, 4 km, and 8 km. The minimum range is 100 m, 200 m, and 400 m for the three range scales, and the range resolution is 4 m, 8 m, and 16 m for the three range scales. Measurements of the significant wave height, wavelength, wave period, and wave direction have been made using traditional 3D-FFT methods. Methods: A retrospective case series including 18 patients with Rb and strabismus who underwent strabismus surgery after completing tumor treatment by a single pediatric ophthalmologist. Results: A total of 18 patients (10 females and 8 males) were included with a mean age of 13.3 ± 3.0 (range, 2-39) months at the time tumor presentation and 6.0 ± 1.5 (range, 4-9) years at the time of strabismus surgery. Ten (56%) patients had unilateral, and 8(44%) had bilateral involvement, and the most common worse eye tumor’s group was D (n=11), C (n=4), B (n=2) and E (n=1). Macula was involved by the tumors in 12 (67%) patients. The tumors were managed by intravenous chemotherapy (n=8, 47%), intra-arterial chemotherapy (n=7, 41%) and both (n=3, 17%). After complete treatment, the average time to strabismus surgery was 29.9 ± 20.5 (range, 12-84) months. Except for one, visual acuity was equal or less than 1.0 logMAR (≤ 20/200) in the affected eye. Seven (39%) patients had exotropia, 11(61%) had esotropia (P=0.346) and vertical deviation was found in 8 (48%) cases. The angle of deviation was 42.0 ± 10.4 (range, 30-60) prism diopter (PD) for esotropic and 35.7± 7.9 (range, 25-50) PD for exotropic patients (P=0.32) that after surgery significantly decreased to 8.5 ± 5.3 PD in esotropic cases and 5.9±6.7 PD in exotropic cases (P<0.001). The mean follow-up after surgery was 15.2 ± 2.0 (range, 10-24) months, in which 3 (17%) patients needed a second surgery. Conclusion: Strabismus surgery in treated Rb is safe, and results of the surgeries are acceptable and close to the general population. There was not associated with tumor recurrence or metastasis. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=retinoblastoma" title="retinoblastoma">retinoblastoma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=strabismus" title=" strabismus"> strabismus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chemotherapy" title=" chemotherapy"> chemotherapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surgery" title=" surgery"> surgery</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173512/strabismus-management-in-retinoblastoma-survivors" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173512.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">60</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6561</span> Nature of Polaronic Hopping Conduction Mechanism in Polycrystalline and Nanocrystalline Gd0.5Sr0.5MnO3 Compounds</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Soma%20Chatterjee">Soma Chatterjee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=I.%20Das"> I. The variation of transport properties is modified by tuning the grain size of the material. In the high-temperature semiconducting region, temperature-dependent resistivity data can be well explained by the non-adiabatic small polaron hopping (SPH) mechanism. In addition, the resistivity data for all compounds in the low-temperature paramagnetic region can also be well explained by the variable range hopping (VRH) model. The parameters obtained from SPH and VRH mechanisms are found to be reasonable. In the case of nanocrystalline compounds, there is an overlapping temperature range where both SPH and VRH models are valid simultaneously, and a new conduction mechanism - variable range hopping of small polaron s(VR-SPH) is satisfactorily valid for the whole temperature range of these compounds. However, for the polycrystalline compound, the overlapping temperature region between VRH and SPH models does not exist and the VR-SPH mechanism is not valid here. Thus, polarons play a leading role in selecting different conduction mechanisms in different temperature ranges. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrical%20resistivity" title="electrical resistivity">electrical resistivity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=manganite" title=" manganite"> manganite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=small%20polaron%20hopping" title=" small polaron hopping"> small polaron hopping</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variable%20range%20hopping" title=" variable range hopping"> variable range hopping</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variable%20range%20of%20small%20polaron%20hopping" title=" variable range of small polaron hopping"> variable range of small polaron hopping</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166291/nature-of-polaronic-hopping-conduction-mechanism-in-polycrystalline-and-nanocrystalline-gd05sr05mno3-compounds" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166291.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">89</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6560</span> Description of Geotechnical Properties of Jabal Omar</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ibrahim%20Abdel%20Gadir%20Malik">Ibrahim Abdel Gadir Malik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dafalla%20Siddig%20Dafalla"> Dafalla Siddig Dafalla</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Osama%20Abdelgadir%20El-Bushra"> Osama Abdelgadir El-Bushra</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Geological and engineering characteristics of intact rock and the discontinuity surfaces was used to describe and classify rock mass into zones based on mechanical and physical properties. Such considerations ensure that the motor uses no more current than necessary and operates efficiently. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20phase%20induction%20motor" title="single phase induction motor">single phase induction motor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=operating%20range" title=" operating range"> operating range</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=torque%20curve" title=" torque curve"> torque curve</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=efficiency%20curve" title=" efficiency curve"> efficiency curve</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/172628/determination-of-suitability-between-single-phase-induction-motor-and-load" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/172628.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">112</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6554</span> Analysis of Airborne Data Using Range Migration Algorithm for the Spotlight Mode of Synthetic Aperture Radar</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Peter%20Joseph%20Basil%20Morris">Peter Joseph Basil Morris</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chhabi%20Nigam"> Chhabi Nigam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20Ramakrishnan"> S. Unlike in polar format algorithm (PFA), space-variant defocusing and geometric distortion effects are mitigated in RMA since it does not assume that the illuminating wave-fronts are planar. This facilitates the use of RMA for imaging scenarios involving severe differential range curvatures enabling the imaging of larger scenes at fine resolution and at shorter ranges with low center frequencies. The RMA algorithm for the spotlight mode of SAR is analyzed in this paper using the airborne data. Pre-processing operations viz: - range de-skew and motion compensation to a line are performed on the raw data before being fed to the RMA component. Various stages of the RMA viz:- 2D Matched Filtering, Along Track Fourier Transform and Slot Interpolation are analyzed to find the performance limits and the dependence of the imaging geometry on the resolution of the final image. The ability of RMA to compensate for severe differential range curvatures in the two-dimensional spatial frequency domain are also illustrated in this paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=range%20migration%20algorithm" title="range migration algorithm">range migration algorithm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spotlight%20SAR" title=" spotlight SAR"> spotlight SAR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=synthetic%20aperture%20radar" title=" synthetic aperture radar"> synthetic aperture radar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=matched%20filtering" title=" matched filtering"> matched filtering</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=slot%20interpolation" title=" slot interpolation"> slot interpolation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/61445/analysis-of-airborne-data-using-range-migration-algorithm-for-the-spotlight-mode-of-synthetic-aperture-radar" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/61445.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">241</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6553</span> Range Suitability Model for Livestock Grazing in Taleghan Rangelands</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Arzani">Hossein Arzani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Masoud%20Jafari%20Shalamzari"> Masoud Jafari Shalamzari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Z.%20Arzani"> Z. Influential factors affecting extensive grazing were determined and converted into a model. Taleghan rangelands were examined for common types of grazing animals as an example. Advantages and limitations were elicited. All range ecosystems’ components affect range suitability but due to the time and money restrictions, the most important and feasible elements were investigated. From which three sub-models including water accessibility, forage production and erosion sensitivity were considered. Suitable areas in four levels of suitability were calculated using GIS. This suitability modeling approach was adopted due to its simplicity and the minimal time that is required for transforming and analyzing the data sets. Managers could be benefited from the model to devise the measures more wisely to cope with the limitations and enhance the rangelands health and condition. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=range%20suitability" title="range suitability">range suitability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=land-use" title=" land-use"> land-use</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=extensive%20grazing" title=" extensive grazing"> extensive grazing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modeling" title=" modeling"> modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=land%20evaluation" title=" land evaluation"> land evaluation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14338/range-suitability-model-for-livestock-grazing-in-taleghan-rangelands" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14338.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">341</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6552</span> Forming for Confirmation of Predicted Epoxy Forming Composition Range in Cr-Zn System </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Foad%20Saadi">Foad Saadi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Aim of this work was to determine the approximate Epoxy forming composition range of Cr-Zn system for the composites produced by forming compositing. The adjustable aperture operates as two types of aperture stops which can create two different Depth of Field images. By analyzing these two images, the distance can be extracted from camera to object. Initially, the aperture stop has large size with zero voltage. When the input voltage is applied, the aperture stop transfer to smaller size by orientational transition of liquid crystal molecules in the device. The diameter of aperture stop is 1.94mm and 1.06mm. The proposed device has low driving voltage of 7.0V and fast response time of 6.22m. Compact size aperture of 6×6×1.1 mm3 is assembled in conventional camera which contain 1/3” HD image sensor and focal length of 3.3mm that can be used in autonomous. The measured range was up to 5m. The adjustable aperture has high stability due to no mechanically moving parts. TL properties are investigated by chiefly changing the dopant element and also by varying the concentration of the dopant elements (from 0.05 mol % to 0.5 mol %) so as to establish the optimized dopant concentration for each of the activators. The method of salt preparation used is the typical chemical co-precipitation method and the technique used for characterization of the prepared samples is the X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) technique. Further, the phosphors are irradiated with gamma radiation from Co-60 (1.25 MeV) source (dose range- 30 Gy to 500 Gy). The optimized concentration (vis-a-vis TL peak intensity) of activator for CaSO₄:Ce is found to be 0.2 mol %, for CaSO₄:Sm it is 0.1 mol % and for CaSO₄:Dy it is 0.2 mol %. Further, the primary study of the TL response curves for all the three phosphors confirms linearity in the studied dose range (i.e., 30 Gy to 500 Gy). Finally, CaSO₄:Dy was also studied for its energy dependence property which plays an important role in defining the utility of a phosphor for dosimetric applications. The range of doses used for the energy dependence study was from 30 Gy to 500 Gy from Cs-137 (0.662 MeV). The nano-phosphors showed potential to be used as radiation dosimeter in the studied range of gamma radiation and thus must be studied for a wider range of doses. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gamma%20radiation" title="gamma radiation">gamma radiation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanocrystalline" title=" nanocrystalline"> nanocrystalline</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=radiation%20dosimetry" title=" radiation dosimetry"> radiation dosimetry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermoluminescence" title=" thermoluminescence"> thermoluminescence</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/89842/synthesis-and-thermoluminescence-study-of-nanocrystalline-radiation-dosimeter-caso4cesmdy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/89842.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">175</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6546</span> Improvement of Visual Acuity in Patient Undergoing Occlusion Therapy</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajib%20Husain">Rajib Husain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mezbah%20Uddin"> Mezbah Uddin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Shamsal%20Islam"> Mohammad Shamsal Islam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rabeya%20Siddiquee"> Rabeya Siddiquee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Purpose: To determine the improvement of visual acuity in patients undergoing occlusion therapy. Thus, this study concludes that occlusion therapy with vision therapy is probably one of the best treatment methods for amblyopic patients (age 5-8 years), and compliance and age were the most critical factor predicting a successful outcome. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=amblyopia" title="amblyopia">amblyopia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=occlusion%20therapy" title=" occlusion therapy"> occlusion therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vision%20therapy" title=" vision therapy"> vision therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=eccentric%20fixation" title=" eccentric fixation"> eccentric fixation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=visuoscopy" title=" visuoscopy"> visuoscopy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1429/improvement-of-visual-acuity-in-patient-undergoing-occlusion-therapy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1429.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">503</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6545</span> The Effect of Scapular Stabilization Exercises on Chronic Neck Pain</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amany%20Mohamed">Amany Mohamed</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alaa%20Balbaa"> Alaa Balbaa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Magdoline%20Mishel"> Magdoline Mishel</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Pain in the neck or scapular region is one of the most frequent symptoms in cervical radiculopathy, which is commonly caused by degenerative process in the spine. Purpose: To determine the effect of scapular stabilization exercises in the treatment of chronic neck pain regarding pain and disability and limitation in the range of motion. Patients and Methods: Thirty male and female patients with chronic neck pain were involved. Aged between 30-50 years old. They were randomly assigned into two groups. In group (A), patients received physical therapy program in the form of infrared, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), Stretching and cervical stabilization exercises. In group (B), patients received scapular stabilization exercises in addition to the same physical therapy program. Treatment was given 3 times a week for 4 weeks. Range of motion of the cervical spine, range of motion of the scapula, neck pain and disability were assessed before and after treatment. Results: There was significant improvement in both groups (A and B) in cervical range of motion, pain and disability. Group (B) showed more significant improvement than group (A) in cervical range of motion and pain and disability. There was no significant improvement in both groups in scapular range of motion. Conclusion: Scapular stabilization exercises should be used as an integral part in the rehabilitation program <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Neck%20pain" title="Neck pain">Neck pain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neck%20stabilization%20exercise" title=" neck stabilization exercise"> neck stabilization exercise</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scapular%20stabilization%20exercise" title=" scapular stabilization exercise"> scapular stabilization exercise</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chronic%20neck%20pain" title=" chronic neck pain"> chronic neck pain</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/52346/the-effect-of-scapular-stabilization-exercises-on-chronic-neck-pain" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/52346.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">301</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6544</span> [Keynote Talk]: Determination of Metal Content in the Surface Sediments of the Istanbul Bosphorus Strait</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Durata%20Haciu">Durata Haciu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Elif%20Sena%20Tekin"> Elif Sena Tekin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gokce%20Ozturk"> Gokce Ozturk</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Patricia%20Ramey%20Balc%C4%B1"> Patricia Ramey Balcı</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Coastal zones are under increasing threat due to anthropogenic activities that introduce considerable pollutants such as heavy metals into marine ecosystems. As part of a larger experimental study examining species responses to contaminated marine sediments, surface sediments (top 5cm) were analysed for major trace elements at three locations in Istanbul Straight. Samples were randomly collected by divers (May 2018) using hand-corers from Istinye (n=4), Garipce (n=10) and Poyrazköy (n=6), at water depths of 4-8m. Twelve metals were examined: As, arsenic; Pb, lead; Cd, cadmium; Cr, chromium; Cu, Copper; Fe, Iron; Ni, Nickel; Zn, Zinc; V, vanadium; Mn, Manganese; Ba, Barium; and Ag, silver by wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WDXRF) and Inductively Coupled Plasma/Mass Spectroscopy (ICP/MS). Preliminary results indicate that the average concentrations of metals (mg kg⁻¹) varied considerably among locations. In general, concentrations were relatively lower at Garipce compared to either Istinye or Poyrazköy. For most metals mean concentrations were highest at Poyrazköy and Ag and Cd were below detection limits (exception= Ag in a few samples). While Cd and As were undetected in all stations, the concentrations of Fe and Ni fall in the criteria of moderately polluted range and the rest of the metals in the range of low polluted range as compared to Effects Range Low (ERL) and Effects Range median (ERM) values determined by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
