We appreciate all interest, but due to the volume of applicants, we will only contact individuals who will be interviewed.</p> <br> <br> <p><b>Communications Intern:</b><br> <p>Project for Public Spaces, Inc., seeks part-time Communications Interns for the fall and/or semester. Intern should be able to work 10-20 hours per week at the PPS offices. Intern will be responsible for: <ul><li>filing press clippings; updating and maintaining press lists; writing and circulating press releases;</li> <li>contributing to the PPS blog; researching and writing for other articles and PPS publications;</li> <li>keeping project managers up-to-date with the latest trends in their areas; organizing and compiling information for PPS project database;</li> <li>assistance with in-house training events; general coverage of in-house administrative tasks.</li></ul></p> <p>The intern must excel at multi-tasking, have strong writing skills and be able to work independently. Intern should also have an interest in urban planning and civic action.</p> <p>Previous Public Relations experience and experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not necessary. Interns should be very organized, detail-oriented, independent, and available for at least 10 hours per week at our office. Interns will be developing our case study and project experience databases; as well as contributing material to our website; following-up and writing about our Great Places initiative; assisting on-site research and surveying efforts; occasional project-specific support; and general coverage of in-house administrative tasks. Interns should have an interest in urban studies, cultural/social studies, and library science studies.</p> <p>Applicants must have excellent writing skills and a research background. Experience with databases, GIS, SPSS, Adobe Creative Suite are preferred, but not required.
