Her case was featured in an I-Team investigation in July on <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20110816032149/http://www.abcactionnews.com/dpp/news/local_news/investigations/i-team%3A-doctors-accused-of-drug-trafficking-still-seeing-patients" target="_blank">doctors still licensed to practice medicine</a> after facing serious charges. Daffern had been cleared by the court to practice at a clinic while she awaited trial.</p> <p>Daffern was accused of prescribing pills to dozens of patients without conducting proper medical examinations. She was <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20110816032149/http://www.abcactionnews.com/dpp/news/region_tampa/pain-clinic-%22disgrace%22-highlights-florida%27s-pill-problem" target="_blank">arrested in December of 2010</a> , along with several other employees of First Medical Group in Tampa.</p> <p>Daffern’s lawyer tells I-Team investigator Michael George she would eventually have been cleared of the charges. “Ultimately, she would have been exonerated. She passed a polygraph,” Purcell said.</p> <p>Another Tampa doctor featured in the I-Team’s July investigation has now had her license suspended by the state. Dr. Christina Paylan is accused of using patients’ names to write prescriptions for herself and her boyfriend.
