And that is still true to this day. <img src="https://community.postcrossing.com/images/emoji/apple/smiley.png?v=12" title=":smiley:" class="emoji" alt=":smiley:" loading="lazy" width="20" height="20"> <img src="https://community.postcrossing.com/images/emoji/apple/+1.png?v=12" title=":+1:" class="emoji" alt=":+1:" loading="lazy" width="20" height="20"></p> <p>The man then wanted to know what I collect and I said mainly Flora & Fauna (but really all stamps!) and I couldn’t help myself and I told him about Postcrossing.</p> <p>I never got the “ambassador” badge, as I can’t prove anything, but I’ve been an ambassador of Postcrossing ever since I started with it! <img src="https://community.postcrossing.com/images/emoji/apple/smiling_face_with_three_hearts.png?v=12" title=":smiling_face_with_three_hearts:" class="emoji" alt=":smiling_face_with_three_hearts:" loading="lazy" width="20" height="20"></p> <p>And last night the lovely lady from Austrian post, who worked on that special post office (one could get a special postmark there and buy special stamps), sent me a message, showing me, that there was an article about “the last of their kind” (the ageing philatelists) in yesterday’s DER STANDARD newspaper. <img src="https://community.postcrossing.com/images/emoji/apple/astonished.png?v=12" title=":astonished:" class="emoji" alt=":astonished:" loading="lazy" width="20" height="20"></p> <p>Mentioning Postcrossing and me (but my name really is Sibylle, <em>not Sybille</em>, but I didn’t even realize I was being interviewed, even though I had a hunch! So I didn’t insist on the correct spelling.). <img src="https://community.postcrossing.com/images/emoji/apple/smiley.png?v=12" title=":smiley:" class="emoji" alt=":smiley:" loading="lazy" width="20" height="20"></p> <p>On my way to work today I went into the tobacconist (in Austria they are also newsagents) and asked whether they still had yesterday’s DER STANDARD and the lady said “no”. But another lady said “what are you saying?” went to a pile of newspapers and I got the last copy they had.
