And to the sons<MH1121> of Aaron<MH175> the priest<MH3548>, who were of the Levites<MH3881>, thirteen<MH7969, 6240> cities<MH5892b> were <i>given</i> by lot<MH1486> from the tribe<MH4294> of Judah<MH3063>, from the tribe<MH4294> of the Simeonites<MH8099>, and from the tribe<MH4294> of Benjamin<MH1144>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>And to the rest<MH3498> of the sons<MH1121> of Kohath<MH6955> ten<MH6235> cities<MH5892b> <i>were given</i> by lot<MH1486> from the families<MH4940> of the tribe<MH4294> of Ephraim<MH669>, from the tribe<MH4294> of Dan<MH1835>, and from the half-tribe<MH2677, 4294> of Manasseh<MH4519>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>And to the sons<MH1121> of Gershon<MH1648> thirteen<MH7969, 6240> cities<MH5892b> <i>were given</i> by lot<MH1486> from the families<MH4940> of the tribe<MH4294> of Issachar<MH3485>, from the tribe<MH4294> of Asher<MH836>, from the tribe<MH4294> of Naphtali<MH5321>, and from the half-tribe<MH2677, 4294> of Manasseh<MH4519> in Bashan<MH1316>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>To the sons<MH1121> of Merari<MH4847> according to their families<MH4940> twelve<MH8147, 6240> cities<MH5892b> <i>were given</i> from the tribe<MH4294> of Reuben<MH7205>, from the tribe<MH4294> of Gad<MH1410>, and from the tribe<MH4294> of Zebulun<MH2074>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Now the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> gave<MH5414> by lot<MH1486> to the Levites<MH3881> these<MH428> cities<MH5892b> with their pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>, as the LORD<MH3068> had commanded<MH6680> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>through<MH3027> Moses<MH4872>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>They gave<MH5414> these<MH428> cities<MH5892b> which<MH834> are mentioned<MH7121> <i>here</i> by name<MH8034> from the tribe<MH4294> of the sons<MH1121> of Judah<MH3063> and from the tribe<MH4294> of the sons<MH1121> of Simeon<MH8095>; four<MH702> cities<MH5892b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>All<MH3605> the cities<MH5892b> of the sons<MH1121> of Aaron<MH175>, the priests<MH3548>, were thirteen<MH7969, 6240> cities<MH5892b> with their pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>Then the cities<MH5892b> from the tribe<MH4294> of Ephraim<MH669> were allotted<MH1486> to the families<MH4940> of the sons<MH1121> of Kohath<MH6955>, the Levites<MH3881>, <i>that is, to</i> the rest<MH3498> of the sons<MH1121> of Kohath<MH6955>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>They gave<MH5414> them Shechem<MH7927>, the city<MH5892b> of refuge<MH4733> for the one who commits<MH7523> manslaughter<MH7523>, with its pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>, in the hill<MH2022> country<MH2022> of Ephraim<MH669>, and Gezer<MH1507> with its pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>and Kibzaim<MH6911> with its pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>, and Beth-horon<MH1032> with its pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>; four<MH702> cities<MH5892b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>From the half-tribe<MH4276, 4294> of Manasseh<MH4519>, <i>they allotted</i> Taanach<MH8590> with its pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054> and Gath-rimmon<MH1667> with its pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>; two<MH8147> cities<MH5892b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>All<MH3605> the cities<MH5892b> with their pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054> for the families<MH4940> of the rest<MH3498> of the sons<MH1121> of Kohath<MH6955> were ten<MH6235>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/21-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>And to the sons<MH1121> of Gershon<MH1648>, one of the families<MH4940> of the Levites<MH3881>, from the half-tribe<MH2677, 4294> of Manasseh<MH4519>, <i>they gave</i> Golan<MH1474> in Bashan<MH1316>, the city<MH5892b> of refuge<MH4733> for the one who commits<MH7523> manslaughter<MH7523>, with its pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>, and Be-eshterah<MH1203> with its pasture<MH4054> lands<MH4054>;
