For this experiment, we followed the procedure in the Biology for Major Laboratory Manual (page 33-44). The experiment begins when the membrane is added into the beaker and ends at the 25 minutes of the last sample. The first experimental design that my lab group and I worked on was varying the concentration that was done on the first week. Three different concentrations of serial dilutions of KMnO4 were made when the concentration was varied. First, three test tubes and 4mls of water was added to each test tube. 1ml of 500 mM KmnO4 solution was added to the first tube.
