The soldiers must have fully believed in the Sanhedrists' assertion, or they would never have imperilled their lives by promulgating such a condemnatory tale. <span class="cmt_word">Secure you;</span> <span class="accented">rid you of care.</span> They promise the guard indemnity and freedom from all penal consequences.
