<t><p class="indent1">And like one from whom <i>people</i> hide<MH4564> their faces<MH6440>, <t><p class="indent1">He was despised<MH959>, and we had no regard<MH2803> for Him. <poetry><p class="paragraph"><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/53-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>However<MH403>, <i>it was</i> our sicknesses<MH2483> <i>that</i> He Himself<MH1931> bore<MH5375>, <t><p class="indent1">And our pains<MH4341> <i>that</i> He carried<MH5445>; <t><p class="indent1">Yet we ourselves<MH587> assumed<MH2803> that He had been afflicted<MH5060>, <t><p class="indent1">Struck<MH5221> down<MH5221> by God<MH430>, and humiliated<MH6031a>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/isaiah/53-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>But He was <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>pierced<MH2490a> for our offenses<MH6588>, <t><p class="indent1">He was crushed<MH1792> for our wrongdoings<MH5771>;
