Este artículo analiza los primeros documentales turísticos encargados por la Dirección General de Turismo, así como su producción y distribución, para evaluar ese debate sobre los límites de lo turístico en un contexto diferente al del presente: la España de finales de los 50 y principios de los 60. Se emplean como métodos, por tanto, tanto el análisis fílmico como el estudio de la circulación de las películas, partiendo de la especial relevancia de los enfoques pragmáticos en el ámbito del documental. Aunque el grado de mediatización de la experiencia turística no era comparable al de hoy, las imágenes y los discursos eran ya muy relevantes en la configuración de los imaginarios turísticos, y las redes de actores implicados en esas representaciones eran más complejas y contradictorias de lo que podría parecer. Este artículo analiza los primeros documentales turísticos encargados por la Dirección General de Turismo, así como su producción y distribución, para evaluar ese debate sobre los límites de lo turístico en un contexto diferente al del presente: la España de finales de los 50 y principios de los 60. Se emplean como métodos, por tanto, tanto el análisis fílmico como el estudio de la circulación de las películas, partiendo de la especial relevancia de los enfoques pragmáticos en el ámbito del documental. Aunque el grado de mediatización de la experiencia turística no era comparable al de hoy, las imágenes y los discursos eran ya muy relevantes en la configuración de los imaginarios turísticos, y las redes de actores implicados en esas representaciones eran más complejas y contradictorias de lo que podría parecer. Los trabajadores de NO-DO o los de productoras privadas, los funcionarios de las Oficinas de Turismo en el Extranjero o los responsables de la promoción turística en Madrid tenían concepciones algo divergentes sobre qué era un documental turístico, lo que habla de la porosidad de los límites del concepto incluso en ese contexto.</p> </div> </div> </article> <div class="container border-top mt-5
