This leading text on developmentally supportive care of infants and their families addresses the full spectrum of neonatal care, from prenatal planning to delivery, plus neonatal intensive care and the transition to home.</p> <h2>The Developmental Care Self-Assessment (Free PDF)</h2> <p>Applicants for the Neonatal Developmental Care Specialist Designation may use the <a href="/uploads/Education/Dev_Care_Specialist_self-assessment_test-FINAL_10-19-10.pdf" target="_blank">Developmental Care Self-Assessment</a> as a means to assess their own level of integration of developmentally supportive caregiving into their routine practices in the NICU. It is recommended that an applicant's assessments fall into the "all the time" category in 80% of the answers for each of the four developmental care practice standards. Practicing at this level of integration will best support successful completion of the Specialist Designation exam.</p> <h2><a href="https://apps.nann.org/store/product-details?productId=90480670" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img style="margin: 0px 0px 3px 10px; float: right;" src="/uploads/Education/dev-care-spec-logo.png" alt="dev-care-spec-logo" /></a>Neonatal Developmental Care Specialist Designation</h2> <p>The <a href="https://apps.nann.org/store/product-details?productId=90480670" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Neonatal Developmental Care Specialist Designation</a> offers clinicians with developmental care experience an opportunity to apply and assess their knowledge through the completion of a 100-item test. The test includes both cognitive assessment questions and scenario-based cases. Those passing the test are recognized with a certificate of completion. The intended audience for the specialist designation is all neonatal healthcare professionals, including, but not limited to, nurses and therapists.</p> <p>The specialist designation is valid for two years from the date of completion.</p> <p>An 80%+ must be obtained in order to pass the exam.</p> <p>If 80%+ is not obtained, you must repurchase and retake the Designation exam.</p> <h2>Neonatal Developmental Care Specialist Designation Renewal</h2> <p>If your specialist designation is up for renewal you have two options to renew!
