This process ensured that the distribution was seen as divinely ordained. The fifth lot indicates the order in which the land was allocated, following the tribes of Judah, Ephraim, Manasseh, and others.<p><b>for the clans of the tribe of Asher:</b><br>Asher was one of the twelve tribes of Israel, descended from Jacob's eighth son by Zilpah, Leah's maidservant (<a href="/genesis/30-12.htm">Genesis 30:12-13</a>).
